Guys I just made the best fucking chili of all time
I sautéed ancho and guajillo chilis and blended into a paste to throw in, holy fucking shit, I wish I could all give you a bowl

>beans
fuck you anon
>>

The classic stew pot. Something our ancient ancestors would do that we still continue to this day. Often doesn't look too good but is more often than not a stomach coating pleasure. God bless you stew. It's through your grace that humanity was able to climb to the heights we have reached today.

Cowboys used to cook their chili without beans.

They'd cook the beans separate and mix them together in the bowl.

Beans are a superfood.

Beans make your chili taste better.

Eat your fucking beans.

>Beans make your chili taste better.
you were doing so well until you lied.
>>
>>22158901
texture and color needs work. if youre doing an ancho and guajillo chili paste for a base this whole pot should be red as hell.
>>
>>22158901
Looks like ass (visually) based on the visuals but choice of chillies tells me you did good
>>
is that fucking bay leaf?
>>
>>22159222
Yup, adds flavor
>>
>>22159227
so would star anise but that's not the flavor you're looking for in chili. people have some kind of mental block with chili where they don't know what's supposed to be in it (even though it's literally in the name) so they start throwing random shit in thinking "well this works in other recipes." bay leaf doesn't go in chili. carrots don't go in chili. bell pepper doesn't go in chili. paprika doesn't go in chili. you aren't making gumbo. you aren't making goulash.
>>
>>22158901
OP your chili looks very yummy and I’d probably eat 2 bowls
>>

>bay leaf doesn't go in chili. carrots don't go in chili. bell pepper doesn't go in chili. paprika doesn't go in chili
I bet your chili taste like ass
>>
>>22158901
guajillos are really amazing for giving random shit a lot of interesting complexity. If you just chew one dry it tastes like a mix of unripe sour berry and tobacco
>>
>>22158901
As another said, you clearly didn't use enough, because that shit should be red. Also, add a couple arbols for some extra heat, plus a couple chipotles in adobo for some smokiness.
>>
>>22158901
No interest in the shitty Mexican version of chili it's still not real chili
>>
>>22159017
anchos look black, guajillos look dark purple. It's not going to make a vibrant red sauce without a shit ton of arbols that he didn't put in it
>>
>>22159555
guajillos are what make birria bright red

Why are you throwing beanbros under the bus by looking retarded?
>>
>>22158901
Looks like you didn't even brown the meat.
>>
>>22159657
What? I've never seen guajillos turn anything red. Then again, I've only ever used them in red meat dishes.
>>
>>22158901
>Guys I just made the best fucking chili of all time
>beans
no you didn't.

Ah yes. These blindingly Santa suit colored peppers will surely turn foods bright red. Surely its the peppers in my jar of birria concentrate that make it red and not the "red no. 40" dye.
>>
>>22158901
Mom he had diarrhea in the pot again
>>
>>22160221
>jar of birria concentrate
bruh what are you even doing?
>>
>>22160252
Whatever I want. It's got many uses. It doesn't have to strictly be used for tacos. You can add it to anything to make it more salty and birria tasting. The only thing it's lacking is cilantro but that's a staple fresh ingredient anyway.
