I’ve been getting into pears this summer. They’re a top-tier fruit when you know how to pick em. Lately though I’ve gotten some d’anjou ones that refuse to soften. I got them when they were hard in the market and figured in a few days they’d be perfect but that never happened.

I hate ripe pears, they are disgusting
I eat one to two pears a day usually beurre bosc only, when pears are in season but only if they are firm
They have the best flavour firm and I think they're horrible when they have any give
When I buy pears I press down on them and if it has any give, it's worthless
Fuck I love Beurre bosc so much it's my favourite fruit besides persimmons
