Preshopping so I can spend as little time in that human shithole as humanely possible and ran across this. I thought it was a rule that Great Value was ALWAYS cheaper then name brand or at least close. This is not even remotely close. It is damn near double the price. Goes for the patties too. Explain this bullshit magic.
>>
this may surprise you (but shouldn't) but banquet is the lowest quality shit on the planet. it's much worse quality than great value. that's why it's cheaper.
>>
>>22163626
Those banquet ones are usually $7.99 so must be on sale.

At that price I would just buy picrel and be done with it, never tried the great value brand but im positive it tastes better than either of those.

>I thought it was a rule that Great Value was ALWAYS cheaper then name brand or at least close.

that would seem logical, but no. here are the nutritional labels between the two.

the last time I had hot dogs I tried the chicken/pork oscar meyer franks and they were disgusting. I can only imagine how nasty these are.
>>
>>22163639
So basically identical but banquet is bit more salty.
>>
>>22163640
that's why you always get beef or an actual sausage! the cheap stuff is for nostalgia, bulk cooking, or if you're really broke.
>>
>>22163646
i'm stuck on why the banquet ones are three links for 170 calories (54g, 17 servings) but the great value are two for 190 (45g, 15 servings). they have much higher fat at 28% vs 19% per serving even though their sodium is lower at 13% vs 21%, i guess that's why. weird they have vitamin a and calcium while banquet has none but does have double their iron and additional potassium. what is in these things?
>>
>>22163626
>it's much worse quality than great value.
Untrue. They aren't great but the great value ones are true fucking dogshit.
>>
>>22163654
I think you meant to quote this anon.
>>22163629

I'm OP and I prefer the banquet. Was just curious the price premium I was paying for them.
>>
>>22163654
quite a lot of great value generics are dogshit. they're far worse quality than other store generics.
>>
>>22163663
Yeah my bad.

>>22163666
Yeah some are honestly alright and justy taste different but not worse than the brand they ape, though those sausages are for sure not an example of that.
>>
I like those pre-cooked sausages without the casing more than the raw ones with the casing. It's probably the chemicals. Also why is turkey sausage so good but turkey bacon is so bad?
>>
I keep telling you cunts that Walmart has shit prices because they don't do regular weekly sales.
You buy literally anything on sale anywhere else and it'll be cheaper than Walmart 100% of the time.
That said, BnS are shit quality "sausages". idk about GV sausages but they're probably better quality than BnS. Compare the ingredients lists and nutrition data to know for sure.
>>
>>22163679
ground turkey is also really bad. i don't think turkey lends itself well to certain forms. it should remember its place: thanksgiving and sandwiches.

>>22163685
the nutrition data is already here >>22163639 and here are the ingredients. yellow is banquet.
>>
>>22163701
huh surprisingly clean. Dextrose is the only real "chemical" and that is just simple fake sugar. They are just salty little pig lip blended links the both of them.
>>
>>22163731
some people would probably bitch about the mechanically separated chicken blend and soy protein but the great value IS surprisingly simple. and fully pork!
>>
>>22163701
And there you have it. MSM is cheaper than pork so banquet is cheaper. And I saw the nutrition labels after I posted.
Still, I'm certain that name brands are often cheaper than GV.
>>
Not big on breakfast sausage unless it's in link form. Don't know why, I know broken up sausage tubes, or formed patties are the exact same thing.
Maybe Murderface was right
>>
you can get the great value uncooked pork sausage links for $2.52 at 12 oz, $3.36/lb.
>>
>>22163767
>Maybe Murderface was right
lol sauce me bro

it was a gay cartoon about a gay fake band that was somehow was real but when you heard them play you realized they were gay

There are frequently events called SALES where prices may be lower for a limited time.

In my area. These are the normal prices. This is what I paid last month and they were not on sale. The banquets are cheap up north it seems.
>>
>>22163817
so was it good
>>
>>22163679
The pre cooked sausages seem to taste extra good at complimentary hotel breakfasts
>>
>>22164143
HAHA! Yeah, that's when I've traditionally have had them. I guess they were the best thing on the menu
>>
>>22164143
>>22164162
why do hotel precooked sausage links taste so good and hotel precooked scrambled eggs taste so, so bad?
>>
Just get the cheapest. American sausages are easily amongst the worst in the world. Absolutely no quality whichever you choose
>>
>>22163626
>I thought it was a rule that Great Value was ALWAYS cheaper then name brand or at least close.
let's unpack this.
>being bamboozled by the second biggest corporation on earth
>thinking rules ACTUALLY exist outside of math
>"then"
>ever going to a fucking walmart
>anime after dragonball z
you're just a fuck up, aren't you?
>>
Mmm frozen sloppa to turn us fat gay retarded and cancerridden
>>
>>22164234
This anon doesn't live next to a decent butcher (American or ethnic)
>>
>>22163640
>bar-s hot dogs
Don't even try to eat this.
I bought some on a whim from a dollar general back in 2019 and they tasted so disgusting I threw all of them away. They hadnt gone bad or anything, they were just terrible hot dogs.
>>
>>22164513
Never throw food away. Either throw it in the woods for some raccoons or possums to eat or drive to the nearest rich neighborhood and toss it into someone's backyard so the raccoons start harassing them for food
