I found an old folder full of infographic recipes I saved from /ck/. I saved them around 2012 but some are probably older. I figured someone here may enjoy some of them as a novelty so I'll be posting them.

These are all from the generic folder but there's also a smaller folder called "Sweets and Desserts" that I might get to at the end.

Yes I do enjoy them as a novelty, thank you for posting. I don’t know if I’ve ever made one of the recipes but the simplicity is kind of charming. I can’t remember what it was like to not know how to cook anymore.

Yes these seem to be from an era where most people came to /ck/ to learn how to cook. It was a different time where we actually enjoyed each others company and helping each other.

Thats just how we posted back then. Heartfelt shitposting. Or rather, the only other option other than mspaint was to pirate photoshop or download GIMP and learn how to use it. In 2012 many people still didnt even have smartphones and some of these predate 2012 by several years. MSpaint was unironically the best option to convey a simple point.

I think the average age of 4chan was like 19 back then so most of this was kids teaching other kids. There wasn't a standard way of creating an infographic so most people just wang it.

They might already be on there but I never crossed referenced. I saved all of these myself from 4chan threads directly. I don't use based.cooking but if someone else wants to do it they are welcome to. I always preferred the ephemeral era of 4chan where if you didn't save it then it was gone. I kind of oppose cataloguing content permanently. It's diametrically opposed to human interaction.

>It is browned seasoned ground beef, (chuck or round), browned sausage, cheeses, dough, (Optional) garlic, parsley, oregano, onion, oils... etc. Brown the meat, slice the cheese, wrap it in the dough, pinch the seams, place in the oven until cooked thoroughly. Then consume while writing character sheets, writing character backstory, or any other neckbeard activities.

I appreciate a good, simple recipe to make something flavorful and different. But when the recipe is "heat up 3 canned beans and put it in a tortilla", is that really a recipe? Its like a recipe for PB&J, who can't figure that shit out?

>Its like a recipe for PB&J, who can't figure that shit out?
Oh man you don't even know. xwitter is gay obviously but there was a huuuuuuge zoomie meltdown that lasted weeks and it all came down to zoomers bankrupting themselves on doordash because they're physically incapable of making a pb&j sandwich and insist they won't eat "peasant food". then they complain they "can't afford a house" when they're literally spending $50 a day on delivery slop bowl burritos because they need that "flavor experience"

Yes and the advent of AI has basically made most people give up on creating anything at all. People outsource not only their creativity but you regularly see people posting a literal AI response as if it were their own thoughts. It's very disheartening. /ck/ used to be a wholesome place where we welcomed new cooks and enjoyed teaching each other and sharing recipes and techniques.

I can tell you my experience from somebody who spend probably a few thousands hours creating OC and being active in various boards, forums and online communities since the early 2000s.

It was normal and common that if you created something you got at least some feedback on it. Even on a spammy board like /b/ back in the days people gave you some feedback. On forums there were local experts (check out paladins84's post on druid builds or whatever) and there was a general appreciation of people who created something or put in the effort even if it wasn't the best or the greatest thing ever created.

And at least for me, there's a clear signal. If I create something and there's no feedback that means there's nobody who cares then why should I create new things and share them? I don't care for cloud or fame. My motivation always used to be to make people laugh or help them. And if there's nobody who wants to laugh or be helped then I rather spend my time otherwise
>>

The creation of content has gotten easier over time. Human effort is no longer recognized as admirable or worthy of praise. And short form video killed infographics, despite being significantly less helpful and less likely to actually be utilized. It's much easier to create a short form video that it is to design an actual infographic. And infographics are basically done as a charity because you don't get ad revenue from them. They're simply dispersed. This isn't even really mentioning AI or the fact that 15% of of this board maximum actually cooks food and isn't just trolling each other, reposting reddit content, AI content, or eceleb nonsense. This place has become a sfw /b/.

Godbless you anon for recipes. I'll try out the schnitzel and fried stuff; my family's gonna get a kick out of it.

Agreed there was definitely a shift from when people made content for fun and interest toward now people make content purely for profit motive. The camwhores were probably the canary in the coalmine. Girls used to post tits online just for fun but nowadays it's just to promote their onlyfans.

This fag is probably gone but if anyone cares to bulk download via an extension I found this worked fine: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/image-downloader-imageye/agionbommeaifngbhincahgmoflcikhm

And probably a few hundred more.

I still do anon <3

Delicious, finally some good fucking food

Why do you default to just bread and water? You can cook cheap meals. Yes getting a house is much harder today but its not impossible. It involves saving money and not indulging in everyday conveniences all the time. Zoomies and Alphas don't understand delayed gratification because social media has normalized instant gratification

Pink Himalayan Salt guy was hilariously autistic. I miss those kinds of autists, now we just have gay political autists or brainrot media autists

you'd be surprised what you can do if you save 20 or 30 dollars a day. that's a mortgage payment. I genuinely credit my ability to buy my own house to learning how to cook from YouTube and /ck/ when I was a kid which saved me tens of thousands of dollars in my 20s.

dollar guy made a comeback but nobody remembered him and his threads barely got any response. People just want to talk about nonsense now.

>>22174557
np sorry I couldn't post the rest but that was pretty much all of it
>>
>>22173925
If you or anyone else here has enough to get another thread started, I can help contribute, I have some saved from the old days as well. You guys did teach me how to cook, after all.
>>
>>22173925
I have enough to start another thread but not many left. Maybe like 10 or 15 from the desserts folder that I didn't get to. I'm on my phone right now but later at my pc I might trickle the last couple images in.

I had this meatloaf recipe saved since ~2012 and never got around to making it until like a few months ago. This one was crazy good. My /ck/ recipe folder has never failed me yet.

/b/ would not have their logs on the log without us making food

God, I hate when things are videos instead of paragraphed pages of text with images.

Need to re-check some specific part? Like ingredients.
Can't skim in 2 seconds, can't ctrl+f nor go to the selected part and read the specific paragraph again. You have to skip a fucking timeline and if they don't have a single frame with a ingredient list you instead have to watch 20 seconds of "here is one ingredient at a time I add to the bowl". Sometimes shit even needs to buffer.

Imagine being tech illiterate and having ADS as well on top of this..
