I found an old folder full of infographic recipes I saved from /ck/. I saved them around 2012 but some are probably older. I figured someone here may enjoy some of them as a novelty so I'll be posting them.
These are all from the generic folder but there's also a smaller folder called "Sweets and Desserts" that I might get to at the end.
>>22167604Yes I do enjoy them as a novelty, thank you for posting. I don’t know if I’ve ever made one of the recipes but the simplicity is kind of charming. I can’t remember what it was like to not know how to cook anymore.
>>22167611Yes these seem to be from an era where most people came to /ck/ to learn how to cook. It was a different time where we actually enjoyed each others company and helping each other.
Some of them, like this one, are rather boring but I cropped out an individual post that had good information in a short amount of words.
Alright I changed the sorting of the folder from Oldest > Newest instead of alphabetical to give it a little more variation and to post the oldest ones first.
It's my day off and I'm drinking so if I disappear I passed out. I don't have hundreds of these anyway maybe like 50.
>>22167623Wow this autistic ms paint drawings really pull this together. I think I would trust this guy’s applesauce opinion so I might actually make this one.
>>22167615>columns>>22167623rowskinda confusing at first
>>22167631Thats just how we posted back then. Heartfelt shitposting. Or rather, the only other option other than mspaint was to pirate photoshop or download GIMP and learn how to use it. In 2012 many people still didnt even have smartphones and some of these predate 2012 by several years. MSpaint was unironically the best option to convey a simple point.
>>22167642I think the average age of 4chan was like 19 back then so most of this was kids teaching other kids. There wasn't a standard way of creating an infographic so most people just wang it.
transcribe them to based.cooking
>>22167679They might already be on there but I never crossed referenced. I saved all of these myself from 4chan threads directly. I don't use based.cooking but if someone else wants to do it they are welcome to. I always preferred the ephemeral era of 4chan where if you didn't save it then it was gone. I kind of oppose cataloguing content permanently. It's diametrically opposed to human interaction.
>>22167604Reminded me of thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfxpwbWBNuU
Just do you know. OP is a fucking newfag who didn’t save these recipes ‘back in the day’and is simply reposting content from the booru. https://ck.booru.org/
>>22167626>making the cashier ring up 6 obscure small peppers>making them manually enter $0.01 because the pepper is so light it wont weighbeen there
>>22167770im not a newfag and i can post the dates i saved the images because they are saved in the files. they are all 2012 and 2013. Thank you for your post though. I've been here since 2007.
bodied that freak
>>22167626i should call him
I used to just throw a pound of ground beef in the pan to brown, then throw in some corn and chopped peppers and a jar of salsa and call it "protein slop" (back before the slop buzzword took off and became a low effort negative)
>>22167731nice. I've been wanting to make a homemade poptart.
>>22167838>5 cups ricedo not attempt this in anything less than a Big Wok
>>22167844it says 5 cups cooked but yeah i get you>It is browned seasoned ground beef, (chuck or round), browned sausage, cheeses, dough, (Optional) garlic, parsley, oregano, onion, oils... etc. Brown the meat, slice the cheese, wrap it in the dough, pinch the seams, place in the oven until cooked thoroughly. Then consume while writing character sheets, writing character backstory, or any other neckbeard activities.i think this text file i got from /tg/ and not /ck/
>>22167604Thanks Anon :3
>>22167615>take out the "stem" from the middle of the garlicLOL, no one does this. Thomas Keller doesn't even do it. But thanks for posting these quaint old cooking things. I have some too.
I appreciate a good, simple recipe to make something flavorful and different. But when the recipe is "heat up 3 canned beans and put it in a tortilla", is that really a recipe? Its like a recipe for PB&J, who can't figure that shit out?
>>22167905>Its like a recipe for PB&J, who can't figure that shit out?Oh man you don't even know. xwitter is gay obviously but there was a huuuuuuge zoomie meltdown that lasted weeks and it all came down to zoomers bankrupting themselves on doordash because they're physically incapable of making a pb&j sandwich and insist they won't eat "peasant food". then they complain they "can't afford a house" when they're literally spending $50 a day on delivery slop bowl burritos because they need that "flavor experience"
>>22167780lol. busted.
>>22167887once again, as always, OP is a faggot
>>22167928>attempting to pretend like you know you didn't just get btfo>>22167780lmao do newfags really think they can hide without an ip count
>>22167604>Add OIL, 1 can REFRIED beans...>Add 1 can each of BLACK beans and KIDNEY beans...So, they want you to re-refry refried beans and then fry some more. The creator of this really likes oil.
>>22167731>cut pastry into stripes>put them into a 180 stove
I passed out im awake again thank you to the other anon who posted the ones he had.
>>22167905Like I said before these images are from an era where the average person on 4chan was a child. These were intended to give ideas to 18-22 year olds who had just started life and may not have had any conception of how to cook food at all and were surviving on McDonalds and Chef Boyardee.
Although slightly more boring I'm going to include the post crops that I cropped myself for my own ideas when I myself was an 18 year old in 2012.
Laughed at my naming of this file. "Some kind of pasta." I honestly forgot this folder existed and it's kind of like opening a time capsule.
HAMDOGGER
I just realized the other kind anon also posted the HAMDOGGER but I regret nothing by posting it twice.
>>22167780Thanks for the nostalgia man, this is actually how I learned how to cook. My first recipe was "German Lasagna" IIRC.
>>22167910it's not like they could afford a house if they ate nothing but bread and water every day
>>22167604preciate ya pal
>>22168790They could. Zoomies just don't have the moxie to do it.
>>22167718I made this for my bf in 2012 for our 1 month "anniversary". I used the exact same infographic and everything. We are happily married ;×; (not because of steak au poivre but it certainly didnt hurt)>mom bought a pint a brandy for me>brother drank like half of it right before i was about to start cooking>barely had enough to make the pan sauceDont forget you're here forever :^)
>>22167604Bamp
>>22167604I have a handful of classic Goons With Spoons posts from way back. They're on an old external somewhere.
>>22167604>food analogy
Damn this thread makes me think of how good the internet was even 15 years ago. People actually put in effort and made OC and tried to contribute instead of reposting the same jeet spam over and over.
Sorry some of these are just images of magazine recipes but I'm posting the whole folder regardless of what's in it.>>22170579Thanks for the bump.>>22170666Yes and the advent of AI has basically made most people give up on creating anything at all. People outsource not only their creativity but you regularly see people posting a literal AI response as if it were their own thoughts. It's very disheartening. /ck/ used to be a wholesome place where we welcomed new cooks and enjoyed teaching each other and sharing recipes and techniques.
>>22171578What’s the surprise?
>>22171589I used to post on /k/ back in the day so the surprised is probably cum. I stopped posting on /k/ when Sandy Hook happened because overnight /k/ immediately became /pol/.
I think the first one I everr saved was "armadillo eggs", cheese stuffed peppers, then wrapped in meat and grillednever made it
>>22171736What do you do with the meat hole?
>>22167604>beansIm not a fuckingPOORFAGGOT THO?!
>>22171745idk make it into a little meatball
I have no idea how to wrap tortillas so burritos always turn into a spoon food for me.
>>22167615>fresh basil is over 9000 bettersovl
Absolute chad of an OP. I have that same 3 bean burrito saved in my old /ck/ folder. Pic related. It's the only image I have from pHs/caraffe guy image larger than a thumbnail saved from around 2010 or so. 4chan was always shit but it sure used to be ... less shit.
>>22172217I am not a chad. I simply posting an old folder I found
>>22167604wow all these photos and pics of your folder and no mega, disgusting! I dont want to save all of these by hand theyre all great mega or faggot, now.
>>22168005Yo dawg I heard you like beans
>>22168353>tablespoon of sugarfat
>>22170666I can tell you my experience from somebody who spend probably a few thousands hours creating OC and being active in various boards, forums and online communities since the early 2000s.It was normal and common that if you created something you got at least some feedback on it. Even on a spammy board like /b/ back in the days people gave you some feedback. On forums there were local experts (check out paladins84's post on druid builds or whatever) and there was a general appreciation of people who created something or put in the effort even if it wasn't the best or the greatest thing ever created. And at least for me, there's a clear signal. If I create something and there's no feedback that means there's nobody who cares then why should I create new things and share them? I don't care for cloud or fame. My motivation always used to be to make people laugh or help them. And if there's nobody who wants to laugh or be helped then I rather spend my time otherwise
thanks OP, this is a hell of trip down memory lane. I started browsing cook around 2010 and seeing this is giving me some crazy nostalgia.
>>22172928The creation of content has gotten easier over time. Human effort is no longer recognized as admirable or worthy of praise. And short form video killed infographics, despite being significantly less helpful and less likely to actually be utilized. It's much easier to create a short form video that it is to design an actual infographic. And infographics are basically done as a charity because you don't get ad revenue from them. They're simply dispersed. This isn't even really mentioning AI or the fact that 15% of of this board maximum actually cooks food and isn't just trolling each other, reposting reddit content, AI content, or eceleb nonsense. This place has become a sfw /b/.
>>22172378Sorry I don't really believe in MEGA and downloading large amounts of files at once. It just decreases your chances of ever revisiting them. You save what interests you and then utilize it and share it. I'm not in the habit of downloading massive quantities of files that I will never use and won't even look at.
alright im reaching the end of the main folder and only have a few tidbits to post from the other 2 folders
these 2 are from the "cheap" folder. I guess that just means cheap shit I was looking for at the time. In 2013 I was 18.
Now dumping the "Oriental" folder. Many of these are infographics unrelated to 4chan I think but here we are. They're in there so I'm dumping them.
ok now the sweets and desserts folder and that's it. autoposting now. love you guys. love this board. i will never leave.
"Max amount of image replies has been reached." Sorry guys. Hope you enjoyed the folder.
>>22173925Godbless you anon for recipes. I'll try out the schnitzel and fried stuff; my family's gonna get a kick out of it.
>>22172928Agreed there was definitely a shift from when people made content for fun and interest toward now people make content purely for profit motive. The camwhores were probably the canary in the coalmine. Girls used to post tits online just for fun but nowadays it's just to promote their onlyfans.
>>22173925Thanks for your time and effort!
>>22172378This fag is probably gone but if anyone cares to bulk download via an extension I found this worked fine: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/image-downloader-imageye/agionbommeaifngbhincahgmoflcikhmAnd probably a few hundred more.
>>22167615>It was a different time where we actually enjoyed each others company and helping each other.I still do anon <3
>This threadDelicious, finally some good fucking food
>>22168790Why do you default to just bread and water? You can cook cheap meals. Yes getting a house is much harder today but its not impossible. It involves saving money and not indulging in everyday conveniences all the time. Zoomies and Alphas don't understand delayed gratification because social media has normalized instant gratification
>>22170666Couldnt agree more, SatanThe internet is so much worse now
>>22172217Pink Himalayan Salt guy was hilariously autistic. I miss those kinds of autists, now we just have gay political autists or brainrot media autists
>>22173925Based OP, a rarity. Thank you for all of the images
>>22168790you'd be surprised what you can do if you save 20 or 30 dollars a day. that's a mortgage payment. I genuinely credit my ability to buy my own house to learning how to cook from YouTube and /ck/ when I was a kid which saved me tens of thousands of dollars in my 20s.>>22174556dollar guy made a comeback but nobody remembered him and his threads barely got any response. People just want to talk about nonsense now.>>22174557np sorry I couldn't post the rest but that was pretty much all of it
>>22173925If you or anyone else here has enough to get another thread started, I can help contribute, I have some saved from the old days as well. You guys did teach me how to cook, after all.
>>22173925I have enough to start another thread but not many left. Maybe like 10 or 15 from the desserts folder that I didn't get to. I'm on my phone right now but later at my pc I might trickle the last couple images in.
>>22167867I had this meatloaf recipe saved since ~2012 and never got around to making it until like a few months ago. This one was crazy good. My /ck/ recipe folder has never failed me yet.

>>22173733/b/ would not have their logs on the log without us making food
>>22173733God, I hate when things are videos instead of paragraphed pages of text with images.Need to re-check some specific part? Like ingredients. Can't skim in 2 seconds, can't ctrl+f nor go to the selected part and read the specific paragraph again. You have to skip a fucking timeline and if they don't have a single frame with a ingredient list you instead have to watch 20 seconds of "here is one ingredient at a time I add to the bowl". Sometimes shit even needs to buffer.Imagine being tech illiterate and having ADS as well on top of this..
