what are your favorite cream soups? I like creamy spinach soups but they don't seem to be very common
for me it's mushroom
Corn and mushroom soup are both quite nice. Did a white bean and sausage soup that I finished with heavy cream that was also very good.

When it's deep dark winter I like to make a pot of ground beef, cheese and leek soup.

>>22173046I like this in winter. try it with some coconut milk.
>>22173168That sounds nice, gonna throw that on the to-do list for the 2 weeks when Texas is actually kind of cold.>>22173194>try it with some coconut milk.As a 1:1 for the cream or do you have to change the ratio? Do you still need to thicken it?
>>22173223i've done it 1:1 but you can do any combo if you want a more subtle flavor. I cook it all in one pot so the starch from the rice thickens it regardless, but full fat coconut milk is roughly the same thickness as heavy cream anyway.
>>22173223and also in case you haven't used it before, since there is a lot of drinkable coconut milk available these days, you don't want that, you want canned coconut milk.
>>22172879My favorites cream soups are: Chestnut, asparagus, zucchini, pumpkin, porcini
>>22172887My mom used to make squash soup a lot. I was never into it as a kid but I bet I'd like it as an adult.
>>22175202Sorry I was trolling with an obscure reference but yes squash soup is very good esp with cream and a food roasted vegetable base
>>22172879Idk what my problem is, but spinach with cream-based anything makes me want to barf. I’m sure your soup is lovely thoughTo answer mine, anything seafood based. I think a crab chowder is my preference but i love a lobster bisque as well.
Cream of wheat.
>>22175202I've made butternut squash and apple soup, shit was cash
when I was a kid I used to get broccoli cheese soup but then strain out all the broccoli. I realized later that I could just make cheese soup without the broccoli, but it never tastes the same.
my favorite is definitely mushroom soup, its unbearable. Next in line probsbly broccoli.

creamy potato soup is always nice
how are you supposed to season potato leek soup? I usually make a loaded baked potato soup with green onion but I tried using leeks one time and wasn't sure what to do different with it. I tried using dill but I'm not sure it worked very well.
>>22176062garlic (to be blended along with the potato and leek), thyme, bay leaves, and chicken broth as a base
