Found this in the fancy cheese section, ever have it? It seems like a boomer product but I’m curious about putting it on burgers.
>>22175044Boomers wouldn't touch it, neither would the English. Marketing by Kraft.
>>22175052Maybe they were hoping for a crossover.
>>22175044bring that shit over to the UK and see what they say
>>22175044Does it include a roll of toilet paper? You'll need it...dumbass
>>22175074>bring that shit over to the UK and see what they sayIt would sit on the shelves until the yellow stickers arrived, even then I am not optimistic. I did a check on it and it's NOTHING to do with England and I suspect >>22175064 is the same.
>>22175096I guess it's not well known outside the US but Olde English is absolute bottom grade quasi-lager marketed mainly to street gangs and the homeless. The UK equivalent would be something like Tennent's Super (I think). Also looking it up it was apparently originally created by German immigrants in the '60s which makes me wonder if it was supposed to be some sort of targeted insult.
>>22175123I have never come across this brand before and 'Malt Liquor' is not really a British thing. Having said that in the early 1980s (Yes - I'm a coffin dodger) we did have an American import called Colt 45 that apparently was a Malt Liquor and reminded me of bananas for some reason. We Brits have never been known for lagers, up until the late 1970s we mostly drank Ales, Bitters, stouts. etc. Germans as far as I am aware, have always drank lagers, so I have no idea why they did this, perhaps post war they didn't want to market anything as German? IDK
>>22175044>Kraft “Old English” cheeseit says "spread", not "cheese".it's just more masked mayo slop from the mayonnaise cult, anon.
>>22175179No, it's cheese. It's like pimento cheese without the peppers in it.
>>22175044Its lunchables teir
>>22175044This seems to be a relic from a time when Americans knew even less about the world than they know now. The period when we established what "French dressing", "Chinese food", and other cultural appropriations were.I suspect that this product once had a distant connection to the sharp flavor found in British "mature cheddar" and similar, like Cheshire, Double Gloucester, etc. That was probably enough for people to notice it. If the spread here tastes like anything other than Velveeta I'll be slightly impressed.

>>22175278>This seems to be a relic from a time when Americans knew even less about the world than they know now. It's actually the inverse, retard.Your Grandma knew a helluva lot more than you, and possessed a skillset that you could never hope to master.Seed Oils wrecked health and quality of cuisine for most of the West.
>>22175415Are you okay
>>22175278I think people in Britain were happy for anything in 1940... I know this isn't /his/ but something was going on
>>22175278that dude looks like he has multiple diseases
>>22175044this >>22176393is what >>22175044 is pretending to be
>>22175044Looks like Lunchables chees.
>>22175123>originally created by German immigrants in the '60s which makes me wonder if it was supposed to be some sort of targeted insultMalt liquor is not a thing at all in Germany. There's also nothing comparable. They probably targeted to alcoholics.
>>22175191>It's like pimento cheeseSo mayo.
>>22175415>Your Grandma knew a helluva lot more than youYeah. She knew how to make the best Lancashire Hotpot I've ever had. I miss her a lot. (We've got most of her standard recipes, but the hotpot one just doesn't replicate right. No idea what's missing.)
>>22175415Your impressions about the past are laughably optimistic and your perception of the present is fantastically delusional.
>>22175044>fancy cheese section>Kraft
>>22176825>Lancashire Hotpot50/50 the missing ingredient is bisto or guiness
>>22175278That "Bunnies in Clover" recipe sounds hideous.
>>22175278Oh, it's Velveeta.
>>22177786it sounds good to me
>>22177879Apples, sausage, and processed cheese?
>>22175123The UK equivalent is probably Frosty Jack's. They basically minmax volume, ABV, and tax classification to get the most alcohol per penny possible.I actually feel a bit sick just seeing the bottle again.
Check the date if you buy this shit. The store where I used to wage had some on display forever none of it sold. Nobody even noticed it was six months expired.
