Accidentally cooked my steak m*dium today. It was like biting into a wild animal. Absolutely barbaric and repulsive.

have you tried using a knife and fork
>>
If you can't cook a steak well done without drying it out you has the skill issue.

When I was younger I followed the fashion with blue/rare steak and then medium rare, then I grew up.

I don't give a toss what others think, I like my steak medium to welldone, I think many people are just fooling themselves with rare steaks just to be trendy.

This is me exactly - I spent decades trying to convince myself “a steak should be rare” because everyone else says so but the fact is I much prefer it done to at least medium and I’d rather err on the side of overcooking than Vice versa

If I get served a steak with any moisture left, I immediately send it back. Those """juices""" are blood and pus, they're gross and they need to be cooked off. I don't know how people stomach wet steaks.

The trick is have the hottest fucking pan possible
>>

If a steak is still wet then it's not really well done, is it...

we don't need another steak schism

I thought this was a thread about well done steaks? I didn't come here to hear about wet steaks.

160F/70C is not hot enough to dry out any decent cut of meat.
