redpill me on instant pasta sauces.
Sometimes I don't feel like sauteeing onions and simmering shit for 3 hrs, never tried the bottled instant stuff
>>
No one on here has any experience with them. You should go out, spend $4 on a jar and report back with your findings.
>>
Classico is actually pretty good, relatively cheap, and most flavors don't have too much added sugar.
>>
>>22181030
they mostly suck and use bad quality tomatoes.
>>
>>22181030
Wtf, marinara takes like, 20 minutes. Start it, when you get to where it's just simmering start the pasta, they're done at the same time.

My 21 year old gf (who was a virgin) was living on her own for the first time in her first apartment. She lived a sheltered life and for some reason her parents completely skipped the part about teaching her how to cook. I was coming over to her place to make spaghetti and just wanted something quick so I grabbed a jar of Prego sauce and other stuff. We made the spaghetti, ate, it was good and then my gf said to me "What kind of sauce was that, Prego? Wow, I guess I'm a Prego girl now"

Where's all that water in the tomatos go in 20 minutes?
>>
instant sauce is acidic and full of preservatives, why do you think it doesn't go bad, it's fine in small amounts on pizza if you kill it with copious amounts of cheese to neutralize it, otherwise it will wreak havoc on your gut bacteria, shredding the inner lining and making acid start rising

How much water do you think is in there? You can boil off 1-2 cups of water in 20 minutes. If you start with less than 2 cups of crushed tomatoes (1 14oz can) you should actually end up reducing it by at least half in 20 minutes. If you're doing a 28oz can you should still be fine.

His palms are sweaty

Jar of Prego (the one with mushrooms) , 2 tsp sugar
don't tell anyone.

If you're having issues with the acidity it's because of the tomatoes retard. As far as preservatives there are brands that don't have any and are shelf stable because they're pasteurized
>>
>>22181317
because of the tomatoes bro that's what tomato sauce is made of, anytime I put actual tomatosauce in my beans they went sour, the tomato isn't the problem the processing is, keep building your frameworks
>>
>>22181030
they're packed with water so you still have to cook them down to get the right flavor.

I don't bother with bolognaise unless I am making lasagne.

Pasta-wise I mainly eat cacio e pepe

Gonna add that chicken fetticini or wgatever it is too

sometimes they add extra citric acid to tomato products for whatever reason. a lot of canned tomatoes have it too and i try to avoid buying them. but you don't need citric acid and preservatives when you're canning food, at least when pressure canned. regular canning does need a certain amount of acidity.

nothing to redpill about
some extra virgin olive oil in a pot
sautee a couple cloves of crushed garlic
throw in a spoonful or two of tomato paste to caramelize
add a pinch of dried oregano and red pepper flakes
add a large can or bottle of passata/tomato puree
season with a jar of italian seasoning if you're feeling extra lazy
salt and pepper to taste
let simmer for 15-30mins to your preference

easy and facefucks any jarred sauce
>>
>>22181349
You sound like a certified retardo good look
>>
Usually I don't have time to prepare the sauce every time. So, I saved up a bunch of glass jars, cook a lot of base sauce, put that shit into the jars, 20 minutes in the pressure cooker to sterilize it, and voilĂ , I have a bunch of base sauce. Just add what you want when you pop that shit open, be it veggies, bacon or whatever

you are a lazy no-cook, its about 15 minutes of work, and 30-60 mins of cook time is enough, a basic tomato sauce is like one of the only things decent cooks always do themselves

>>22181447
>some extra virgin olive oil in a pot
eh
>sautee a couple cloves of crushed garlic
>throw in a spoonful or two of tomato paste to caramelize
this is way too much tomato paste for a single batch
>add a pinch of dried oregano and red pepper flakes
too early for the oregano, and the red pepper flakes should be added with the garlic
>add a large can or bottle of passata/tomato puree
you're not gonna use premade sauce, but you're going to make a sauce with already processed tomatoes? what the fuck are you doing
buy canned whole tomatoes, ideally san marzanos, and take the 30 seconds to process them a bit yourself. i just use my hands in a mixing bowl
>season with a jar of italian seasoning if you're feeling extra lazy
have the courage to just wing it and taste as you go instead of flattening out your cooking
>salt and pepper to taste
>let simmer for 15-30mins to your preference
30 minutes is the minimum

anyways, you should add a tsp of anchovies/anchovy paste with the tomato paste, and keep the tomato paste to a tbsp to let the actual tomatoes come through when you start buying whole canned tomatoes

how much do you think a spoonful is? you know tbsp stands for tableSPOON? it seems like you're trying to be insufferable.

anchovies taste bad
>>
>>22181860
>reading comprehension
1 to 2 "spoonfuls"
vs 1 tbsp maximum, and even that's too much, but for all i know you love it so much you eat it from a can
really, if you have decent tomatoes you shouldn't be using tomato paste at all for a basic sauce
but no, i'm actually trying to inform, being insufferable is just for fun
