I bought a bottle of dishsoap once that had on the label, "made of 100% ocean bound plastic" and I thought to myself "fuck yeah this thing is going in the ocean"

I fail to see how that saves plastic. You're buying refill bottles. Those are plastic.

The plastic issue isn’t one I build my life around
That said, the foamy dawn soap that comes out real thick is the best shit out there for hand washing. I keep the pump by the sink and usually use other soap for washing shit because the foam is pretty expensive for what it is.

If you ACTUALLY wanna save plastic your refill is in a simple foil bag so maximum content per surface and so people can REUSE their container.
>>

Just buy dollar store foaming handsoap, suffer through the shit quality and refill with a mix of dawn and water. The foaming isn't some special formulation. It's just watered down liquid soap going through an aerator. We use those foaming bottles everywhere. For shampoo, dish soap, Dr Bronner's, body wash etc.

If you mix 70% water 20% dishwash soap and 10% alcohol, you can make it at home.

>alcohol
Not remotely necessary

there's no way it's any less than 50% alcohol. it cleans dishes so well that they squeak.
>>
>>22181901
washed my asshole with this and it burned real bad
>>
>>22182167
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what squeakiness on dinnerware means and how detergents clean them. Squeakiness is from a total removal of grease on the ceramic/porcelain. That happens because of how surfactants work. The alcohol is only about 2.5% and mostly there for thinning the solution. 50% alcohol could be potentially dangerous to use in a kitchen spray.

this is just a blatant advertisement that has very little to do with Food or Cooking.
>>
Powerwash is okay, but not much better than regular dish soap. If you or someone living with you is too lazy to hand wash properly, it's an acceptable shortcut. We only buy it due to one lazy roomate who never learned.

That stuff's great for soaking baked on junk, but I use it sparingly just for that because the cheap soap is good enough for everything else.
