today at the hot bar it's.. well i'm not sure. meat on the bone of some kind, no labels. looks like something from a medieval feast
>>
osso puke-o
>>
>>22184510
Osso buco.
Looks good.
That sauce should be nice over some taters or so.
>>
>>22184517
>>22184524
Doesn't look like veal.
>>
>>22184517
>>22184524
uh... yeah that's not oxtail what the fuck are you talking about
>>
i was just making a joke, idk about the other guy and who the fuck makes osso buco with oxtail
>>
>>22184549
osso buco is veal not oxtail
>>
>>22184510
Looks like bone on the meat
>>
>>22184510
this looks inedible man I’m not built for the hot bar
>>
My trans gf wouldn't touch this one but I thought it was alright
>>
>>22184648
Did you meet OP taking a picture?
>>
>>22184510
Looks like lamb shanks.

They had some type of meat lasagna at my hot bar
>>
>>22184657
yeah I saw a guy taking the picture and I just randomly said "it's hot bar anon". I didn't think he would hear me but he immediately started looking around in a slight panic.
>>
>>22184787
oh now we got another hot bar poster fuck me. i can only take so much mediocrity in one thread
>>
>>22184816
be grateful I didn't make my own thread
>>
>>22184510
I appreciate the hot bar preparing such a wide variety of wholesome and hearty foods in earnest. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just home-cooked style stuff that might look underwhelming in the chaffer but is probably amazing once its on your plate

Can I get a qrd on the hot bar? Does op just go a buffet every day?
>>
>>22184952
He's poor. He goes to the homeless shelter and takes pictures on his free welfare phone. It's fun to make fun of him at first but in the long run it's really pathetic, for OP and for the responding faggots.
>>
>>22184954
this is not yet confirmed, there are many theories and each thread has counterfeit OPs in it's a real toughie
>>
>>22184952
Many grocery stores have hot bars. OP likely works for the de facto minimum wage stocking produce.

I miss my small town supermarket that had a cafe and hot bar and salad bar. they'd steam or deep fry your seafood for you free of charge at the fish counter and they'd make you a sandwich at the deli counter. place was peak comfy.

>pic is actually dashcam from the parking lot that I randomly saved one day
>>
>>22184952
in nyc a lot of delis have fairly extensive hot bars for the office worker lunch crowd. i got my lunch at one right across from my office at least 3 times a week for years
>>
>>22184952
>Does op just go a buffet every day?
He probably goes once a week and takes a pic of each dish, then dolls them out piecemeal.
It's a good content strategy, but ultimately dishonest.
>>
>>22185212
OP could be an anonymous Hot Bar Influencer™ and he's wasting his time hanging around with us. Imagine a TikTok account that explores hot bars without any shilling and totally anonymously (i.e. not self-centred content)
>>
>>22185212
>dishonest
If there's a place for honesty, it's certainly 4chan.

No it isn't. Are you american perchance? Those guys call hoggets lambs. Lambs here (NZ) and Aussie are only up to a year or until incisors develop, whichever is first.

Based, I used to work at a place like this called Lindy's. I cried when I quit because I felt like I was letting my manager down kek
>>
>>22185700
Don't feel bad about that anon, when you work for a good local employer you feel at least some degree of responsibility but at the end of the day it's not your problem. Sounds like you enjoyed working there which is nice
>>
>>22185739
I don't, I was just a retarded teenager and it was my first job. It was comfy, sometimes an old lady would give me a couple bucks for helping to bring their groceries to the car. I was working there on the day a tornado ripped through town and obliterated the cute cashier's house, she quit shortly after unfortunately.

Yes, the Americans allowed any sheep up to 24 months to be called lamb. It's in fitting with their general (lack of) food standards
>>

Whatever. I hope you enjoy living in your retarded harry potter land

Why does it have cilantro on top?
It looks like some saars chicken curry, especially with the layer of fat floating on top.

>>

The USDA standard is 1 year to be sold as lamb. Not sure where you're getting your info. I guess this is fitting with your general (lack of) reading ability and comprehension.
>>
>>22188578
While the strict USDA grading system distinguishes between a Lamb, a Yearling, and Mutton at the processing plant based on bone fusion (the break joint), the final consumer packaging does not have to. Because mutton is highly unpopular with American consumers, meat from older yearlings (up to 20 or 24 months) is regularly packaged and sold simply as "lamb".
>>
>>22188582
>Because mutton is highly unpopular with American consumers
i will never understand this beyond "possibly just a status thing i guess"
love those fluffy, tasty baa-stards
>>
>>22184787
that looks pretty good for a hotbar lasagna
