Soup and bread, soup and crackers, or soup and noodles?Think carefully. Bad noodles can ruin a soup and there's no good way to extract them.
>>22186264you add oyster crackers to a soup with noodles.
>>22186264For me it’s bread. Adding noodles makes it a completely different dish. If I wanted noodles I’d have ramen
>>22186264For soup, cook the pasta on the side and add it to the bowl rather than putting it all in the pot. This also makes it much better for having the next day.
>>22186264The right bread should always pair with soup, noodles or no.
>>22186264depends on the soup
>>22186335Wow thanks.
>>22186264Eh I can go for bread or crackers depends on what kind of soup. For thicker soups bordering on stews like split pea and ham, or chowders I like crackers mostly too scoop and eat it thinner soups like tomato bisque or cheddar broccoli demands a nice piece of crusty bread for dipping.
>>22186264>Bad noodles can ruin a soupCan they? I don't think I have ever had bad noodles. Noodles are always acceptable in soup. Udon, ramen, rice noodles, egg noodles, wonton noodles, etc. All work wonderfully. Soup and bread only works if soup is thicc. If soup is too liquid, bread just gets wet and becomes terrible. Soup and crackers is basically hard limited to seafood soups: bisque, chowders, etc. These are thicker soups. So if I have to pick one, noodles would be the goto.
>>22186264Soup and sandwich or soup and salad.I guess if I had to pick one, it'd be bread for the biscuits, corn bread, and proper French onion.
>>22186264Neither.I'll have a super salad
>>22186460>it'd be bread for the biscuits, corn bread, and proper French onionwhat in god’s name do you mean? french onion soup has bread in it, literally a slice of bread thrown on top of the soup. and you want to accompany it with biscuits and cornbread?
>>22186264rice
Bread is for stews. Crackers add nothing imo.Avgolemono with orzo and creamy tomato vegetable with tortelini or egg noodles are my only real go-tos lately
>>22186278this guy soups
Soup becomes a completely different dish and the ingredients you should be using completely change the moment you decide to make it a Noodle Soup dish, its dumb to even include in a discussion about soup.No one goes "Whats a better soup, french onion or tonkatsu ramen" because its retarded and they aren't remotely comparable or eaten the same way.No campbells chicken noodle soup doesn't count its an abomination
>>22186264where is the wienerli?
>>22186605you can only pick one
>>22186264soup and breadcrackers are filler for homeless, and most soup pasta is overcooked
>>22188450>No campbells chicken noodle soup doesn't count its an abominationCouldn’t agree more. But Campbell’s Double Noodle is definitely in the conversation. And it’s a “soup and Goldfish” situation for sure.
>>22188679OkaySuper salad
>>22186385Different anon but I don’t like it when there’s really thick or mushy noodles in a soup.>>22188673I think this question is best asked loudly in a public setting.
>>22186264Noodles, always. Or something different like rice, pan cakes, pearl barley etc. Bread as a side is useless except for soaking up the remaining liquid in the plate.
>>22189733>bread is useless except for the main thing you use it for with soup
>>22188233I’ve been known to ‘oup
>>22186264bread, 100% of the time
>>22186605I'll have more arms than the wackiest god in all of india!
Spätzle
>>22186264What kind of crackers would you use in soup? Anyway, depends on if the soup has something substantial in it (ie rice, potatoes, orzo or similar). If that's the case, bread. If not, I'd add one of the above instead of noodles.
>>22186264Bread or crackers. Specifically because almost all soup is objectively tastier the next day and like you said, you can't extract the noodles. Once they've been cooked into the soup it's no good as leftovers and that's the best example of soup.
just soup
>>22191429For me?It's the Golden Flavor Nugget© or fuck off.
>>22191421Just cook the noodles separately ffs.
>>22191441If I'm cooking a separate times I'm not eating leftovers. If I'm eating leftovers that shits going in the microwave at best.
>>22186264Nice prison meal
>>22186264
>>22186321This
>>22192183Plain rice bores me. Plain pasta I could eat 'til I burst. Maybe with a little EVOO and lemonjuice. >>22188228>AvgolemonoNever heard of that before. Gonna try it out for sure.
>>22192229you're not eating plain rice, the soup is right there
>>22186351>demands a nice piece of crusty breadThis is the fatal flaw in most people’s soup game. They’re just throwing any old piece of bread on the side and calling it a day. Not realizing the occasion calls for a bread in the 99th crust percentile. If your mouth isn’t bleeding, if your intestinal tract isn’t getting completely destroyed, your meal was a failure.
Whenever I make chicken noodle soup I keep the noodles separate but I do cook them in the broth but just in a different pan. Works great especially if you're expecting leftovers
>>22192310What kind of noodles do you use?
>>22191429Oh hello my lovely>>22192293In Japan if you accidentally drop your soup bread and it shatters they put it back together using gold
>>22186264I just eat soup by itself. But I do add some vermicelli to clear soups.
>>22186351i think you have it opposite friend
