I bought butter, milk and some frozen food items last night from my local store’s app. I had it arrived the morning after but I overslept and they had sat outside in the Florida humidity for six hours. Do I have to chuck them out or they still good

Were they in insulated bags? Did they feel like they were ambient temp to the touch? I’d assume the butter is still fine for eating (not for baking) and the frozen stuff okay to eat today if it was still fridge temp

they're fine.

Plastic bags
Did they feel like they were ambient temp to the touch?
Yeah all my items had the same temp and the frozen foods seem to be defrosted

Butter is probably fine, it's low in moisture and usually salted. Butter rarely spoils to the point of making you sick, it just starts to taste bad. The 2 hour rule for food safety is overly cautious to make sure even vulnerable people don't get sick. Milk is pasteurized and likely stayed cold for a while.

I dunno. Maybe if you had raw meat I might toss that but I probably wouldn't worry too much otherwise. But it might be easier for me to say that when I'm not the one consuming it right now.

Also what were the frozen foods exactly? They might still be okay too if they took an hour or two to actually defrost which means they didn't spend that long in the "danger zone" temperature.

If you get food poisoning from it you almost surely would pay double what you paid for that food to make it go away.
>>
>>22189009
What?
You don't have to pay to get rid of food poisoning, just wait a day and it'll go away by itself.

>he thinks food poisoning only lasts a day

The frozen foods were bags of tater tot’s and Birds Eye crispy green beans

You drive a hard but fair bargain

>frozen food
What are they? You shouldn't refreeze them at least. Might be able to use them for something depending on what they are. If it contains meat then toss 'em.

>butter
If it's salted, then it's probably still fine for a few more days. It doesn't strictly need to be refrigerated, but it doesn't stay good for as long. Give it the smell test before using it.

>milk
Depends. Milk can be treated to be shelf-stable. Needs to be pasteurized and UV treated, in a sealed package. Usually they write on the package whether it needs to be refrigerated.

butter's fine, check the rest

The milk is whole grade A. It been pasteurized and homogenized

Anon, milk is one of those things that make it immediately obvious if it's gone bad with its taste and smell. If it's gone bad you'll know it. Butter should also be fine.
>>
>>22189067
Should be fine if it doesn't smell bad then.

>unironically ordering food delivery to be left on the sidewalk
Throw yourself away.
>>
>>22189009
the only thing that could possibly go bad in 6 hours out of everything he posted is milk and only if the milk was open and it was 120 degrees

Then why did Al Capone need to save that little girl? And, what about those politicians who got sick in congress?
