Did he have a point?
>>22194321Yes but he's a retard and the messaging is stupid. Invoking revolutionary communist imagery is idiotic.
>>22194321isn't his point just that eating junk food is unhealthy?
>>22194431Yes. And more specifically I think his point was feeding ultra processed food to children is probably bad and people would be a lot better off if they cooked instead of depending on convenience foods.
>>22194321he's right that school lunches in america are fucked. he's wrong that the solution is force feeding kids with a pint of EVOO every day
I will always think of the time he tried to scare kids away from chicken nuggets but they immediately gobbled them up whenever his name is brought up.
>>22194456Yeah his whole "Look kids it's pink diarrhea goop just shaped like a dinosaur OMG GROSS!!!" bit was pretty pathetic and gives kids waaaay more agency than they actually have. Babies and toddlers love goop and it's literally the second food they eat in their lives after breast milk, they made an extremely popular baby show called Teletubbies where the weird alien characters make a big deal out of going up to their goop-extruder machine and getting their bowls filled with it every day, they lose their fucking shit over the goop. Telling kids their nuggies are just chicken buttholes ground into paste and shaped into a nugget was never going to accomplish anything except to give him a performative moment of "Le gasp! The children... yearn for the goop! I weep for humanity!"
Yes but he was so cringe about it it overshadowed his point.
Yeah our food supply is fucked but going to a town in hopes of changing things is just tv network drama slopYou need policy changes and there are lobbyists involved to make sure you get the shittiest food imaginable.
Sure. But it turns out income is more relevant than some posh millionaire arsehole telling you only to buy organic chicken
I found his cookbooks to be good, useful for a beginner and has decent variety and overall structure. The tv shows where the idea is generating drama out of thin air aimed at american tv watching audiences = less good
While there's no denying companies only do it to maximize profits, I think that using every part of the bird is the ethical thing to do if you're going to kill a chicken. The meat goo you get from blending and filtering the bone fragments from a chicken carcass are still proteins. The fact the process looks gross isn't really a good argument for why you shouldn't eat it.
UK is the worst in europe for ultra-processed food consumptionhe surely had a point just wasn't such a bright spark
>>22194493>>22195263Impressively sensible answers. Have well earned (You)s
>>22194321>>22194425Even the carrots are fucking starving.
>>22194493Your mom yearns for the goop
>>22195255He knows how to make his food look really good and vibrant on TV. I have zero idea if it actually tastes good tough.
Still one of the best scenes in television historyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKwL5G5HbGA
>>22194437It's unreal how much better I feel after I stopped eating processed food completely and only cook my own food from raw ingredients. Tiredness, brain fog, inflammation, stomach problems. It should be straight up ILLEGAL to feed kids this shit. Adults too but that's another discussion. My boomer parents had a mother in the home who knew how to cook but they gave us processed shit and now nobody knows how to cook and just buys frozen food or fast food.
>>22197090There's a whole production company behind it all. He's just the figurehead. Pic related, the actual Jamie Oliver. Also the brain behind Antonio Carluccio and later Gennaro Contaldo. Now you know why Carluccio/Contaldo have gone to shit and why Oliver has always been garbage. They never had any say.
>>22194321He invested his emotions into trying to make American kids be less gluttonous, uncultured fat cunts. The parents (classless, stupid pieces of shit) took exception to this, sneaked fat cunt shit through the fences, and Jamie cried like a little bitch. Not much to learn really, is there?
>>22194321Maybe, but he presented it all wrong. Pretty sure his "solutions" were never very realistic.
>>22197256She created Two Fat Ladies!
His attempt at teaching kids about food is fucking sad. They can't name anything but potatoes, tomatoes, sallad and shit like carrots. A god damn paprika is alien to them. No wonder they don't eat anything but nuggets and other slop. Their parents have fed them nothing but frozen pre-made shit and pasta. Then they get fucking flavored milk at school as well. When I see kids rather literally starve into a tired vegetative state than eat real fucking food I feel the void expand within my soul. How could anyone be against his mission on a core level?
>>22197444>A god damn paprika
>>22197466Sorry I meant bell pepper or anything ordinary other than whatever top 3 vegetables are. Just throw the famous "ESL" at me.
no, replacing random parts of a recipe because you want "less fat" or something is retarded, pick a different recipe stop trying to shoehorn everything into being "healthy"
>>22197218Gotta admit those look like some deluxe premium nuggets. Not that cheap frozen stuff that's more breading than meat you get at the store.
If you saw the way he makes fried rice you'd be afraid of chinese food too.
Even if he did, the way he was making that point was unbelievably bad.
