New Ikea knives just dropped. Chinese vg10 equivalent core Damascus. Ikea level quality control. Much cheaper than a victorinox
>>22197470but is it sharper than victorinox
>>22197472repulsive design
>>22197473So what it's cooler and better
>>22197480how?
>>22197470That is not Damascus, that is a Damascus veneer. I like Opinel for good cheap kitchen knives.
>>22197485Idk
>>22197470>Ikea level quality control. Is it notoriously high or something? I guess I've never had a bad 'thing' from Ikea. The handles look like a Shun Classic, I don't hate the faux damascus, I might consider these if the price is right. >checksThat seems too cheap to be true.
>>22197496>That seems too cheap to be true.I got a Japanese knife for a single penny last month. Sometimes, good things are just true.
millions must buy!
>>22197496>That seems too cheap to be true. These knives have been made for at least a decade now, same Chinese firm makes them for lots of brands just changing the aesthetic for each brand. I was gifted one, it is alright, I find the steel to be overly hard and a pain to sharpen, will chip if you do things like dismantle a chicken. Works good for chopping veggies.
>>22197470>FJÄLLRÖDINGabsolute clown language
>>22197470god awful just stick to victorinox best bang for the buck also get fucked chang svensson
>>22197531Fuck I have Shuns just like this and I think are also VG10 steel. $150 for a chef's knife versus a VG10 chinese knife for $50 seems like a deal. I might just get that Nakiri and paring knife then.
>>22197561>Shun ClassicNever knew about those but the Quince knife I was gifted looks even more like a Shun Classic and has the same handle. https://www.quince.com/home/classic-japanese-damascus-steel-8-chef-s-knife?srsltid=AfmBOopKmLwhJ1AbQ-EEwCM8xeCQjZybK1-Fn_L8IOoj6fOA7ek9olqv
>>22197570Just noticed that they changed the steel on the quince knife, looks like it might be a bit soften and less chip prone than what mine is, probably an improvement.
>>22197544Victorinox is terribly overpriced and pretty poorly made knife.
>>22197593false
>>22197486Nice guess but it's 67 layer Damascus for $35 canadian
>>22197675that's enough eunice
>>22197496Idk about high but it's reliable. Like you can guess that the heat treat is right vs taking a chance on a random brand on ali express
>>22197604>not an argument It sucks. Mine was warped, terrible edge bevel, and oversharpened out of the box. It is an objective fact that they are not worth 50 dollars.
>>22197689I've owned several for personal and professional use and they have performed exceptionally so you might be...>oversharpened...no you are objectively retarded.
>>22197689Yeah mine had like no edge bevel. Almost like it was convex or something. And was barely even sharp But it sharpens well and is otherwise good
>>22197470SADLY MOGGED BY 'WIAS USUAL
>>22197712Yes they come with a super uneven convex edge. When you first sharpen it to a flat bevel it took me much longer than normal and you need some skill to do it properly freehand. The steel is a bog standard stainless so it will sharpen pretty easy and stay sharp for a reasonably long time.>>22197706>why yes, I am a knifeletKek. My dad works at victorinox as well lil bro.The only good thing about victorinox chef knife is that they have a distal taper. Everything else is garbage. Especially that god awful handle.
