>cook meal with chikken>take pan off the stove>put it on kitchen counter, lid on>forgot about it for 9 hours>put it in fridgewill I die if I eat it now?
>>22197611*chickenThank me later
>>22197614thank yuo
>>22197611What's the average temperature like in your house? As long as it wasn't too warm and it doesn't smell or taste off, you're probably fine, or rather, the risk is small.

>>22197630I think this is my situation so it should be ok - probably? The rest of the interwebs tells me to bin it.Should I just heat it up properly again and then eat all of it?
>>22197660If you're looking for someone to tell you there's no risk, you won't find them, because no one can tell you that.As long as it doesn't smell or taste bad whatever risk there is, is probably small.I'd risk it.
>>22197672I'm a pussy, I'll bin it and eat bread
>>22197660If it were me I would eat it. I have a very good immune system, though.Heating it up won't make a difference though, as it's not the bacteria that is harmful, but toxins released by the bacteria. Rules about time/temp "danger zones" are more strict than they need to be so that whatever authority can avoid any liability. The reality can get pretty complicated; in addition to this graph, foods that are salty, acidic, or oily will slow down bacterial growth.
>>22197611Ive left fried chicken in the microwave overnight and heated it up the next day and ate it innumerable times in my life
>>22197611>cook mealIt's cooked, it's fine.I'm really lazy and will cook a big batch of a chicken dish on Friday night, leave it on the bench, and microwave servings of it all weekend and never been sick.If I cooked something like Chicken Tikka, the cream will go off before the chicken
>>22197611How the fuck do you cook food and then "forget" about it? Were you high?
>>22197747I left for a 10 minute chore and ended up getting absolutely plastered until 9am like any real chef would
>>22197677hard agree. My immune system is top tier, I have been sick sick one time that I can remember, in the past 20 years.OP, over all i would say if you never eat older/spoiled food, don't do it. The only suggestion I cant think of is get completely shit faced by drinking a bunch of hard alcohol, rum will work. Then eat the food. trust mereport back within 24 hours nigga
>>22197747how the fuck do you not know that you can forget about things? Thats literally why its a thing, because it happens to people all the time. ever burnt a pizza in the oven? stupid ass bitch.
>>22197867maybe he forgot
