Within this category "biscuit" there is a sub-category called "cookies". They are soft or chewy, typically round, and come in a few flavours. Butter (or other shortening) and eggs feature as ingredients.In American English, the super-category is not called "biscuits", it is called "cookies". My question is, in America, what is the name of the sub-category usually referred to as "cookies" by English speakers outside of America?
