Does it work?
Is it good for you?
>>
It depends if you cram it
>>
>>22209379
1. Yes
2. Not the one you posted
>>
>>22209379
i drank some of the blueberry one after a huge meal and it helped me shit better
>>
>>22209379
Health effects are minimal and likely completely negligible.
Most of the purported significant health effects are self reported and likely heavily biased due to the placebo effect.
It's about as good for you as most other not heavily processed foods.
>>
>>22209570
Lol
>>
>>22209379
As good for you as any lowfat milk product. It's just drinkable yogurt with a buttermilk twang. Pretty tasty if you like that sort of thing.
>>
>>22209379
That one has no actual fruit in it and also has a good amount of added sugar.
>>
>>22209379
All probiotics are good for you.
>>
Probiotics are a meme. Prebiotics is the dream
>>
>>22209630
>>22209618
They're both memes.
>>

This stuff combined with kombucha is the bees knees when you have food poisoning. I drank literal gallons of it and kombucha the last time i caught the stomach bug and it pretty much completely staved off all of the symptoms minus the dozen or so bathroom trips per day, no stomach pains, no nausea or vomiting, no dehydration headaches. I was just perpetually pissing kefiry kombucha shits out of my ass for a couple days and that was it.
>>
>>22209675
Have you considered that perhaps, this virus wasn't one that caused symptoms of stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting.
And that maybe, considering the lack of any evidence that either of those things could stave off such symptoms, you simply drew a false conclusion?

>Kefir
Isn't that what muslims call you when they're upset at something you did??
>>
>>22209711
That's kafir.
>>
>>22209547
1) * results vary
2) is cap, it's just a yogurt drink with probiotics read the counts they're almost all the same
>>
>>22209570
Objectively incorrect. There's plenty of studies on the real benefits of homemade kefir. Look up kefir peptides as a start.
Storebought kefir is just thin yogurt.
>>
>>22209742
Yeah yeah yeah, they always say this and the studies are always either inconclusive, in vitro, or have incredibly small sample sizes.
>>
>>22209711

Antibiotics are where it's at

I am more of a protobiotic man.

>Does it work?
For some people.
>Is it good for you?
If it's providing what you need.
Can't stand the taste of it myself.
>>
>>22209379
Dude stop forcing this third world rotten milk meme. You make this thread every single day.
>>
>>22209742
Imagine being this gullible.

Show me.

>t. Legally retarded
>>
>>22210065
Kefir fermentation increases the nutrient density of milk.
>>
>>22209379
I drink this brand cuz it’s all my grocery store sells but I suspect it’s bullshit, like most people in this thread. Probably just like having ice cream tbdesu
>>
>>22210465
if you live in a first world country and don't have an eating disorder you don't really need to concern yourself with nutrient density
>>
>>22210498
>t. Coping fastfood addict with magnesium and Vit. D deficiency
Factually incorrect. A simple search would reveal that there are many common and very prevalent micronutrient/vitamin deficiencies in first world countries. Calcium, vit. D, A, Iron, magnesium, potassium are just a few. Apparently around 50% of the US is deficient in magnesium, so nutrient density is something you should consider. Lol
>>
>>22210584
how do you think kefir magically increases the quantity of minerals, iron, or vitamin D in milk?

also I don't eat fast food and I'm not deficient in anything. I also make my own kefir and have for years. I just don't believe that it has magical powers because I'm not schizophrenic.
>>
dairy is kind of interesting. you need butter to cook well. I always buy a little thing of cream for sauces. I only buy milk now for bachamel sauce.
so kefir is a thing I buy sometimes. and its really a treat though. I dont eat it with a meal, its something I'll take a swig from once a day
and it helps its probiotic. like pickled foods. it probably doesnt mean much but it helps a little bit
>>
>>22210614
YIKES! You are retarded! Probably in part from nutrient deficiencies lmfao
>>
>>22210625
I've been tested for deficiencies and have none. lmao! Please tell me how bacteria creates a mineral though I'm very curious.
>>
>>22210663
Never ever did I say that. You have extreme difficulty contextualing posts and this weird habit of inventing arguments out of thin air. Dishonest to the point I doubt your claim about you actually getting testing kek.

Op asked if kefir was healthy and I said yes. Then I simply stated that kefir fermentation increases the nutrient density of milk, which is true. Nutrient dense foods are usually healthy. You created an argument out of thin air, which is clear sign of low intelligence.
You lack the reading comprehension and contextualization skills to understand that my point about common mineral deficiencies was in response to your claim that first worlders don't need to worry about the nutrient density foods and not specifically referring to how kefir fermentation improves nutrient density by creating b vitamins. GG bruv. :)
>>
>>22210435
>Show me.
Pick a study, if there exists one study that isn't either inconclusive, small sample size, or in vitro, you've proven me wrong.
>>
>>22210703
How does kefir increase the nutrient density of milk? Other than bacteria byproducts fermentation doesn't magically create iron, magnesium, calcium, or potassium. I'm genuinely curious. Give me a source. I'd be happy to read it.
>>
>>22210708
Fermentation produces b vitamins.

Brit here. Honestly, I eat it almost every day, If I can't get the brand I like (pic rel) then I'll substitute greek yogurt. Makes all the difference to my digestion, love it. Would recommend.

"""naturally flavored with other natural flavors"""
"""low fat"""
buy normal unflavored kefir if you want it as a health drink, you can throw blueberries or banana slices in there if you want
>>
Yeah but not the ones with sugar. I buy plane, 3,8% fat.

that's a lot of fat

I just bought some of that then drank it and also had kombucha then ate a bunch of bulgogi meatballs
Help!
>>
>>22213347
You must make your own kefir if you want to maximize health benefits. Storebought us basically just thin yogurt.
>>
I prefer sauerkraut
>>
>>22213743
If you just pour a little from the store into milk is it an infinite hack or is there more to it?

>>
>>22213753
No the bacterial/fungal colonies are not the same. You need to start off withbkefir grains. You can only do that with yogurt or kefir grains. Kefir is way easier to make, but yogurt is kinda better imo
>>
>>22213753
there isn't enough bacteria in the store kefir to ferment a new batch. kefir is fermented with grains which are colonies of bacteria and yeast. shelf stable kefir has essentially stopped fermenting and is nearly dead. if it were still active and live it would continue fermenting and the bacteria would acidify the product and it would split. it would also self carbonate and become bubbly and possibly the containers would explore. kefir fermentation is pretty rapid at room temperature with a high grain ratio. but it takes a very long time with a low grain ratio and with literally no grains the milk would rot before it fermented.

Throwing prebiotics into a gut that's already dysbiotic is really quite fucking bad for you.
>here shitty bacteria
>eat this buffet and keep shitting garbage into me
>>
>>22213877
if you have chaotic gut bacteria you are likely doing something very wrong. you don't even need probiotics or prebiotics to restore gut health. your gut will recover on its own when you stop doing retarded shit to it.
>>
>>22213738
Also expensive as fuck. Jokes aside the plain ones are the best, I dont even like the sugary ones. If the store is out of plain I won't buy any at all. Get some yogurt instead or something.
>>
>>22213896
I make my own kefir. Sometimes in the warm months I make fruit kefir and do a second ferment with the fruit sugars. Plain is the best though I agree. I also prefer it warm.
>>
>>22213890
Nah in the worst case you're so fucked up your only real option is fecal transplant.
And again, if you have dysbiosis eating a bunch of inulin can end up skewing you more toward fucked up.
>>
>>22213908
the worst case is like less than 1% of cases. I'm saying if you pound liquor every day and smoke or use oral nicotine or any other drug that affects your gut you can essentially fix your gut in a matter of days by just stopping the bombing campaign.
>>
>>22209547
>>22209714
Which Idiot is right/ck/?
>>
>>22215749
neither is right. you can help your gut biome with certain strains of kefir bacteria but it won't cure SIBO, chrons diseases, ulcerative colitis, etc. Probiotics only work for 1 specific problem. They don't work for the hundred other digestive issues that you could have which are completely unrelated to bacteria or worse, ARE related to bacteria overgrowth which means probiotics will make your issue much worse.
>>
I never tried milk kefir but I make fruit kefir regularly
I thought it was a hippy fotm thing but apparently it became popular in Europe in like 1900
