Name something as scrumptious as a homemade pickle
buttered toast
>>22210307pickle spears are the patrician's choice of pickle
>>22210307>scrumptiousthere's no way that's a word
Protip for pickle making if anon wants to get into it:Distilled vinegar sucks ass. Avoid. Get proper vinegar, with flavors still in it. WAY fucking better, makes a super tasty pickle. There are tons of varieties (white wine, red wine, fruit based, honey, etc.). Distilled vinegar is for cleaning shit.
>>22210310I prefer pickle halves
>>22210326ACKSuaclly, the proper trad way to pickle is with hotwater and salt. you're suppose to let the veggies ferment/rot in saltwater to create le real organical vinegar.but i understand, i cheat with apple vinegar too.
>>22210307
>>22210309Close but not quite as good
>>22210346well that's just wrong
>>22210319Autoportmanteau of scrumdiddilyumptious
>>22210319not only is it a word but it's a very common word, so I hope you aren't from an English speaking country
>>22210307I really loathe the word "scrumptious".Up there with using "succulent" as praise.
homemade pickles fucking suck. Never had a good one. They're almost always sweet pickles too and they taste like garbage. For me, it's a proper factory pickle, dill only.
>conflates pickles with pickled cucumber
>>22210587Fuck off with your bad faith bullshit. Besides the fact that 'pickles', without specificity DO mean pickled cucumbers, the OP clearly mirrors this truth. You can discuss pickled peppers, pickled onions, pickled mushrooms, asparagus, mixed vegetables, etc... all you like. But you have to specify. 100% of us including yourself understand what 'pickles' means. You semantic dingleberry.
>>22210596Doing a great job of being a retarded American.t. American who resents the retarded anchor you and your ilk are to the country.
>>22210587>>22210598>bitter unc taking an absurd and retarded position literally just so he can start a fight and yell at peoplehope i handle my midlife crisis better than this guy
>>22210598Oh, is it "American" of me to assume pickles means pickled cucumbers? Please enlighten me on how you do it in your lesser, non-American nation.Even IF you locally have different rules, it doesn't matter because we run the world. Our version of English is the reigning one the world shares. You're on an English language imageboard. Populated predominantly by Americans. Here and probably most of the internet, as well as in all other media, pickles mean ONE thing. And you know this to be true. You're an autistic loser and you're losing the argument. Don't give me your 'gherkin' nonsense either.
>>22210307i cant. Especially since 99% of store bought spicy pickles are also sweet
>>22210600Zoomers are going to have the most brutal midlife crisis ever. >>22210618It is American (and Canadian (which is American))
Pickled almost any other vegetable
>>22210571I wasn't very well educated and I spent most of my spare time masturbating to tranny porn. I'm sure my parents will look after me forever.
>>22210582Nobody asked about what words will make you clutch your pearls and recoil in horror. What a weakling.
>>22210307Seeing as I'm not a woman on her period, a lot of things taste better than pickles, homemade or otherwise.
>>22210618>lesser, non-American nationGet in line with the other 3rd world shitholes.
>>22210845Yes, yes... we all know that America is akin to a 3rd shithole and is constantly on the decline. They're too poorly educated and too heavily indoctrinated for your post to register.
>>22210618Your melty is embarrassing
>>22210851One would expect the police state, fent-zombies, shitty infrastructure, oligarchs, and ghettos to register.
>>22210307I don't have a name for it but I like it so much.I cut onions (rings or parts, whatever), feta, mozzarella, bell pepper and tomato and put them in a bowl. (tofu fits too). Then I drown them in balsamico. When the onions and the feta got a it softer, it's ready. But I would say at least one hour (and a lot of balsamico, not need to use a high quality one). Although the parts are small and not big cuts..
>>22210307ngl homemade pickles kind of suck unfortunately. it's impossible to get them as crunchy and tasty as storebought (i've tried. i've done the whole epic trad thing of growing your own cukes and pickling them). it's an unfortunate situation where you have to get the mass produced slop really.
>>22210889I’ve only made pickles once and they were great
>>22210889>i've triedtry harder
>>22210319go back, Dinesh
>>22210309
>>22210307I planted picklebush cucumbers this year. They pickle about as excellently as the name would imply. But they seem to be a quick lifecycle variety. I was surprised that they died off as quick as they did. Truly amazing pickles though.
>>22210583>I've never had a good one>ive only had oneSometimes the stupid shit said on this site is mindblowing. If you keep eating homemade pickles from someone that puts sugar in it, then it'll always be sweet. It's really that simple.I don't put sugar in mine and as such they are not even remotely sweet. This is how I know you're retarded and have had 2 homemade pickles in your entire life.
>>22210329You've described Fermentation, which is wholly different from the art of Pickling.I agree with you, however.Fermented pickles are Probiotic.
>>22212808Sounds like he's describing polish dill instead of kosher dill. Polish dill doesn't use vinegar.
>>22212722Is that General Tso's?
>>22210307a homemade dickle
>>22212850>Sounds like he's describing polish dill instead of kosher dillNope. He described Natural fermentation, which does not use a drop of vinegar.>The classic type is ogórki kiszone — cucumbers fermented in a salt brine with dill, garlic, horseradish, and often cherry or oak leaves. They’re sour from fermentation, not vinegar.
I do be likin pickles
>>22212910Yep. circa 2005 or so
>>22212722is that just 2 pieces of broccoli? sad…
>>22210319It may very well be, I'm afraid
>>22213488Now I really want some general tso's
>>22213488>is that just 2 pieces of broccoli? sad…That was my initial thought too, but then I figured that perhaps the other pieces were snacked upon prior to the photo.Steamed broccoli is one of my fave veggies.
>>22213482>Yep. circa 2005 or soMan, I forgot about the generous portions back in the Golden Age.Peak was probably early 1990'sI could eat a lot, but sometimes I would need to petition for a doggie bag.Portions are probably one-third of what they were 20 to 30 years ago.So damn sad.
