Hello gentlemen,I've been gifted a stainless steel pan, and on its bottom it has this queer honeycomb pattern. I'm wondering, would this alter how I use this wok-esque pan, or is this just to help things stick less? Any advice would be appreciated. PS: I don't need to season a steel pan like I would a cast iron one, right?
This means its good, thats probably like a 300 dollar pan, Gordon Ramsay always uses them
Why would stainless steel need a honeycomb? Do you mean non-stick?
>>22211385It just helps it stick less; the pattern is like very VERY slightly raised from the rest of the pan which means you can use metal utensils on it without destroying the coating but still makes the surface quite nonstick
Is it Hexclad? Those meme pans need a tiny bit of seasoning every now and then. That's a very a nice gift, but I'd never spend my own money on one. The texture yeah is supposed to help with browning. That I don't have experience with to know if it actually works. It's not stainless.
>>22211385Take a picture of the actual pan, not this google images first result pic so we can see what your pan is actually likr
>>22211479I dont have it on hand>>22211478it is stainless steel. It's a stainless steel wok-style pan, just clad in this same texture as in pic rel. I'll post an image when I can
We have a pan just like that, it is utter shit. Everything sticks almost as bad as on stainless steel that is used incorrectly (and there is no way to use THIS pan "correctly") but at the same time the non-stick coating is a sensitive and wears out just liek that of a 100% non-stick pan.
>>22211870Your picrel is clearly a non stick pan anon.
