is an air fryer worth it? i love chicken drumsticks and potato wedges
>>22211596Yes. Mine is the third in your pic
Yeah I gave mine to my kid when they moved out to college and every time I want to cook something I get sad they have them cheap at thrift stores sometimes I got mine for like 10 bucks
>>22211600why don't you buy a new one
>>22211596throw out your toaster oven or convection oven and buy an air fryer toaster oven instead.
>>22211604air fryer seems easier too clean and a bit smaller
>>22211596They very much are. They cut down baking / cooking time considerably.
>>22211663what do you bake usually? fresh muffins would be great for breakfast imo
>>22211686Usually chicken actually. Though yesterday I made crab cakes.
>>22211759shit that looks delicious
With a good bbq sauce, it makes very good chicken.
>>22211596Yes, especially if you're making smaller meals (1-2) people all the time.
In my opinion, yes. I use it for when I'm lazy and want to make frozen chicken tenders, fries or anything like that quickly. Aside from a lazy meal, it's also great for potato wedges and reheating meals.
Even as a huge carnivore, frozen falafel like this can be pretty good. The air fryer makes them crispy rather than mushy or crumbly as you might expect
>>22211596I had the first one in your pic. Made good food, but cleaning it takes longer than I could be bothered with. It's just much easier to slap some foil or parchment on a pan and have essentially zero cleanup. Donated it to the work kitchen and they must've felt the same way because it's now a fossilized grease container no one's willing to scrub and use again.
just get a toaster oven/countertop convection oven. They do everything an air fryer does, and more, with less annoying cleanup and all the same benefits

I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago and I'm already in love with it. I made a roasted whole chicken in it a few days ago and it came out better than anything I've ever done in my oven. I've made like 5 lbs of roast potatoes in it so far and they come out perfect in less than half the time it takes in the oven. I highly recommend getting one. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get mine. $70 at walmart right now.
>>22211604Why would I throw out my old trusty toaster oven when it still works?
>>22211596Potato wedges work well. Its just a tiny oven that makes some anons seethe
>>22213932I'm concerned about the electricity it uses. Would you say it's less than a normal oven?
what model is best for me, the discerning racist
>>22214785I really couldn't say. I have a gas oven.
>>22214787the yidcenerator 250,000
>>22211600>there are people old enough to have college aged kids on /ck/Board with wealthiest posters i could believe, but actual middle aged boomers with families and kids posting... That's a bit too much for my mental image of /ck/ posters
>>22212000How hard is that to clean? Doesn't look like the dishwasher can handle that. Grill scrubber?
>>22211596I'd recommend you get a combo device for saving space. Mine is a nuke/oven/airfry combo. Less clutter. Plus the above happens to have trays that come out and clean in the dish washer, so stupid easy to keep it all spotless. The ones in your pic are a bit more to clean. I basically use the air fryer on anything fried to either warm it up or heat it up from frozen. Works like a charm, crisps it up way better than an oven, and the best part is my microwave has an actual oven setting now! Meaning I have a tiny oven should I want to make something small. DO NOT listen to the oven=air fryer retards. I have baked things in air fryer mode and they burn, they burn horribly. The air fryer is basically good for anything fried or for roasting veg. You need something weaker for baking. Oh, and conventional oven =/= air fryer, the fryer has much much higher air velocity.>>22214935If you get a stand alone unit you can either use parchment inserts or silicon inserts to assist in grease collection and cleaning. Additionally, grates and things come out for easy washing. It's not too bad. Cleaning an oven is way harder. YMMV depending on unit brand/type. The ninja glass one is super easy to dishwash.
Air fryer is my favorite method for hot dogsFirst cut a slit or scoring marks in them, and roll them around in a tiny bit of oil and worster
