>>22211715That kettle looks like an unbelievably bad design. It can't be comfortable to pour with that handle.
>>22211715I don't even know what I'm looking at
Something i do is compare prices on the grocery store apps/websites to plan my shopping around. I don’t put enough effort into couponing, but catching the best sales at each store has been worthwhile.
>>22211642Do sheet tray cooking in the oven.Use vegetables you like, some suggestions are potato, onion, sweet potato, bell pepper etc. Cut everything into nice small chunks, add a few strips of bacon or other flavorful meat, a little bit of olive oil and whatever seasoning you like. Put in oven at typical oven temperature.I like adding canned beans and tomato paste after its mostly done cooking.Serve on rice. You can reduce the meat if you can't afford it, add more tomato paste to help the flavour out.
>>22211642Start giving handjobs for $15 under the bridge. You'll get free semen (extra protein) and can use the money to buy yourself a pizza. Works every time
Chicken hearts are both delicious and nutritious.
>>22211761Believe it or not, I have actually eaten chicken hearts. And I have found them to be both gummy and chewy. In other words, disgusting.
>>22211754Do you have personal experience with success?

>>22211775 I fucked your mum, that’s pretty successful of me, wouldn’t you agree?
>>22211642hey that was me last night lol. sure OPFirst off, heed my advice....utilize your local food pantry/food bank. I was really struggling getting by there for a bit, it has been a total life saver.Anyway, beans/bean burritos. You might be able to score a few bags of beans for FREE from the food bank. soak over night, boil them, puree/mash, get some tortillas, preee make a shit ton of them and free them off. maybe 5 bucks, add other shit if you want. go into taco bell, say your gf ordered doordash and she forgot to get hot sauce roll your eyes like "women right" ask for a small bag, hopefully they have them out in the lobby, then grab handfulls of them for FREE
>>22211642get a sams club/costco membership. it has also been a life saver for me. buy rice in bulk, buy chicken thighs for cheap. bone in so fucking cheap compared to stores is mind blowing. but it is in bulk, just break them down howbveer you want, stick them in freezer safe ziplock bags and freeze. i put my jasmine rice in one of those big buckets with a lid from lowes. idk if it food grade or not but i dont give a shit. eat rice and chicken and whatever veggies you an get from the food pantry. maybe get yourself some moy ploy sweet chili sauce from the asian market.
>>22211642Lentils are my preferred poorfag food. Get the mottled green/french lentils; they are less mushy than other varieties. Cook with onion, couple cans of tomatoes, misc veggies. Good topped with a fried egg too.
>>22211642fried rice, eggs veggies, soy sauce, bam hella tasty and cheap. if you have a day job always make your lunch at home, never eat out. think egg sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, cup-o-noodle, ramen,
>>22211830Also Walmart typically has the best prices on chicken/pork. Do not listen to the retards telling you to get a costco or sam's club membership.
>>22211642spices at aldi's are super fucking cheap, like a dollar a piece. you can eat cheap but if theres no flavor you'll start to hate yourself eating the same chicken and rice every day.oh also sams/costco rotissorie chicken, 5 bucks a pop. personally i can live off one of those for 3 days if i'm really trying to stretch it, with sides of rice and or beans. whatever veggies you can get from the food bank,
>>22211834>Also Walmart typically has the best prices on chicken/porklolEvery single time someone says something this ridiculous, I wonder what sort of retardation leads them to that conclusion. I have never bought meat from Walmart not because the quality is bad (how would I know; I've never bought it) but because the prices are total, utter and complete shit. Meat and the majority of the produce is extremely badly priced at Walmart. It's offensively badly priced. The only things to buy there are dry goods, cleaning supplies, lightbulbs and little else. That store is a total shit show of bad prices.
>>22211842Nope. You are incorrect on this.
>>22211642OP. you NEED to read this, trust brother. This is the way the local food bank works here. You are allowed to go once a month to totally load up. they have a roll off area where you can go every day they are open, always bread and veggies but sometimes youll get lucky with other itemsNow listen, this is important, when you first go and are going through in take to get your info they will ask you how many are in your house hold... LIE, say you, your gf, your brother and his girlfriend. They will not check. It actually benefits them the more people they have, they will also ask your income, again LIE say its way below, they get more funding for both. Also, this can be kinda nuts but if your desprit enough you can always go in twice a mopnth for the big haul, just do the intake thing again but use a different name/address/birthdate. They will NEVER ask you for id or any proof.Ive done that a few times but one time this guy kinda looked at me weird like he recognized me so i stopped doing that. if you do do that i would do it like,,,,the first week of the month then two weeks later. there are hundreds and hundreds of people that go through there everyday so i doubt they will recognize you oh and if you dont do this youre a fucking retarded nigger faggot and i hate you and you deserve to suffer like the poor fag you are, good luck brother
>>22211852oh i forgot to mention, its important to lie about how many are in your household because that will determine the amount of items you can get in a certain section. That's the way it works here at least. this is the most based advice you'll get btw.
>>22211842>I have never bought meat from Walmart not because the quality is badit is indeed bad. they're one of the few companies that have a country-wide logistics network for perishables like meat. because of that they can only afford to use the cheaper producers out there and as a result it's often shit. only get produce at your local regional grocery store (unless you're a flyover living in a town of 5k and walmart is the only grocer that can afford subsidizing you kek).
never shop at your local grocery store unless they have a deal (often time they arnt deals they just want butts in doors) or if you need some special item. I guess use it very sparingly is what im trying to say. utilize your local food bank and get a costco/sams membership. probably the most expensive food cost items i spend my money are sauces and spices from a small asian market, ill usually stock up on them with my extra paychecks and tax return moneyoh OP, thats actually what i do also, with my extra paychecks twice a year and tax return money, thats when i'll go to sams club and buy a shit ton of chicken thigh, ground beef, whole pork loins that i break down myself, maybe some ribs also if i'm feeling that i can spare it.break them all down, put them individual portions in freezer safe ziplock bags, which i also buy at sams club.decide what i want to eat the night before and let it thaw in my fridge until dinner. ill send a pic here in a bit
I bought these storage things off Amazon and as you can see I can fit 3 on the top with a little bit of room on the side if needed. I put the 4th one on top where I get my potatoes and onions. I put random stuff on the left side/ ground beef/fish, middle is pork, left is broken down skin on chicken thigh. I buy bone in and save the bone to make broth. When they are all full loaded to the tippy top I can make it last for about 4-5 months. It takes a bit of money and effort up front but in the long run you’ll be saving a shit ton of money and time as opposed to going to the grocery store every week, yuck, fuck that.
>>22211847I'm absolutely not. For example, pork belly? $5.59 at Shartmart. $2.99 at Aldi. Chicken thigh? $1.99/lb /frozen/ at Wally World. 99¢-$1.49/lb fresh literally anywhere else. Country style "ribs"? Sam Walton will sell them to you for an utterly ridiculous $4.64/lb. They're $1.99/lb at MetFresh.Walmart has the absolute worst fucking prices on meat in existence. >>22211858Criminy. It can't be as bad as all that, can it?
>>22211642When I had very little money right after college, I did a lot of instant ramen + jarred alfredo sauce. I'd just cook the noodles, drain them, then mix with the sauce.I don't have a picture of that but I'm glad I can buy stuff like this now
>>22211904dude absolutely fuck walmart, they are the worst on your wallet. saving my ass. I only go there to get socks and underwear because i have to. funny thing is Ops probably passed out after drinking a handle of vodka and wont get any of these gems of info. what a retard. can anyone make a compilation of the best things in this thread so if these ever pop up again we can just share it instead of typing it all out?
>>22211914no kidding, i cant even take the taste of ramen after having to survive on it for years. but i'm glad it was a option. actually in a weird way i still sometimes crave it, but i jusyt have to tell myself, no
>>22211642Make káposztás tészta and have with whatever protein source you can afford. >>22211653I do this minus the egg wash.
>>22211904walmart is a shit company. they're the single biggest destroyer of small businesses in our country's history. no one really gives a fuck though because they're happy to save a couple bucks on bottom of the barrel tshirts that will fall apart in 6 months.i grew up in a very liberal part of the country and when i was young there was a new development going on a couple towns over. walmart wanted to move in and be an anchor store and i remember the town there was trying their hardest to fight them. i distinctly remember driving past it one day and there were people in the development protesting it saying they don't want walmart there. my dad laughed and said "fucking hippies". that was one of the first times i can remember thinking that the world wasn't all perfect and fuzzy and wonderful.walmart eventually moved in. within ~5 years the 2 local grocers within a half mile of the walmart went out of business. they were regional chains that had been there for decades. they're now all dead and gone.
>>2221176144 souls on the grill, to be consumed by one person. there's something very disturbing about this.
>>22211972Funny cuz my local Walmart is across the street from one supermarket, next door to another supermarket, around the corner from a third supermarket and just down the street from a cash and carry. But then, my area is ridiculously saturated with supermarkets. I don't understand how they haven't all collapsed in in themselves yet. There's one intersection not too far from me that has three supermarkets on it. AND A FOURTH TWO BLOCKS AWAYFucking how?!
Pizza is super cheap to make from scratch. The most expensive part is the cheese. If you buy the pre-shredded stuff it's around $7 for 32 oz. You use around 4 oz per 12" pizza. So 8 pizzas per 32 oz bag, which is under $1 per pizza. With the other ingredients, flour yeast salt tomato, you can make a 12" cheese pizza for like $1.50 to $2.Adding some pepperoni, mushrooms or olives is not much more expensive. You could make pizzas every day for every meal and live off less than $5 per day eating like a KING(Don't do this)
>>22211642Apply for government assistance, get a food card.Look online in your city for food banks. they are great source for staple foods. vegetables, eggs, rice, pasta, beans, flour, sugar, bread, canned soups, broths, and vegetable foods. I miss going to get free day old semifreddi bread. I'd grab a bunch of bread and anything else they'd give me and make these giant bread stuffing mixes that would fill everyone's stomachs.. Use the food card for meat and fast food. I'd always hit up carls jr because they took ebt cards and the liquor store nearby was sketch and would take ebt (with a little surcharge) for smokes and booze.there are also certain atm's that allow you to cash out your ebt card and you can then blow it on shit you need. i'm glad those days are past me...
>>22211683poors cant buy in bulk. Not enough money for the initial investment
>>22211704i'm borderline homeless brokie
>>22211765>gummy and chewyAND greasytldr. they're *vraiment delicieux oui oui* as the french say
>>22212641you can buy beans in bulk for incredibly cheap. once a month I get a 50 lb bag for about $1.80. now I’ve heard of anons paying up to $45 for that but all they have to do is find a new bean guy and they’ll stop getting financially violated like that.
>>22212952>I get a 50 lb bag for about $1.80Food is quite a bit cheaper in Britain that it is in the USA but what is this bullshit anon? That's £1.35 for 23KG . . . . no fucking wayUnless your beans have half their weight in Weevils?
>>22212964It's nonsense. I'm the coupon guy and even I can't get beans even near that cheap unless they're on special. And beans rarely are. But when it happens? Whoo doggy, I'm on it like stink on shit but it's not 4¢ like that dude claims. That's fucking absurd.Actually, with the autumn starting, beans in the US should be going on special soon. Last year, I was getting them 75% off but it was mostly lesser known varieties or in impractical packaging sizes, like 10lb sacks of pinto beans or 300g packages of honey beans.Rice, barley, bulgar and other dry grains should be going cheap soon, too. But not 4¢/lb cheap.
>>22212976Slightly off-topic but American coupons seem a bit bizarre to me, I've seen stuff on You Tube when people end up paying just a couple of dollars for well over $200 dollars worth of groceries?????It blows my mind.We don't have coupons (usually cut out bits from magazines and newspapers) that do anything like that here. And usually it's something like 10% off an obscure brand of something that I don't buy.
>>22212976>I'm the coupon guy and even I can't get beans even near that cheapthis here is your problem. you’re bullshitting around at Walmart, taking out a second mortgage for beans when what you should be doing is getting directly in touch with a bean guy. when the fuck are you gonna wise up?
>>22212997Yeah, the coupon situation is unmatched here. If you want to be a master money saver then get your ass over here ASAP. I recently realized that toilet paper is completely unnecessary, I just wipe my ass with my balls and keep it movin. So that’s ANOTHER thing I’m saving countless dollars on.
>>22211681>flour and yeast are cents+sauce +cheese+toppings
>>22213040>If you want to be a master money saver then get your ass over here ASAP.I looked into moving to the USA a number of years ago and did some serious research.Yes - the wages are higher but so is the cost of living.(groceries, rent, insurance, tax, medical, etc.) I even looked at the price of Petrol(Gas) that's a lot cheaper in the USA but considering the amount of travelling I would have to do, it negates this as I would be filling up more often. To cut a long story short, unless I have a job earning $150K+, I am better off in England.
>>22211642chicken leg quarters, debone & salt and pepper, put something heavy on em skin side down in a cold pan on medium to let them slowly fry until crispy, flip and remove the weight. then a bit of wine (i use cooking sake), chicken stock (i boil the leftover bones from my previous leg quarters instead of buying stock), lemon juice (i just get the bottles), tiny squirt of dijon, minced quarter of an onion, minced garlic (preminced), bit of butter, and then optional spice it with like thyme and oregano. mix for a bit till the sake burns off & the onions and garlic have cooked and then dump that shit on the crispy chicken and have it with some white rice. leg quarters are $1.40/lb near me and i only eat one for a meal for myself. only one pan and no deep frying or anything. as a side i'll usually air fry some brussels or broccoli if im not too lazy to do it. you could also add some heavy cream to the sauce if you're feeling fancy or need the calories.
>>22213082>unless I have a job earning $150K+the ass wiping hack changes these numbers drastically
>>22213130I mince my way to the shower and do a handstand instead.
>>22213000>WalmartNo, my unintelligent amigo. I posted >>22211904I'm very much antiWalmart.. Didn't read the rest of your post as the simple premise that I would support that place makes whatever else you have to say entirely moot. Enjoy your non-existent, 4¢/lb beans, though. : )
You don't have to lower yourself to eating animal feed cuts/stockmaking cuts like dark meat chicken. Breasts have stayed low and are often $1.99 a pound. You're not an animal. I know biden did a number on inflation, but search for sales certain times before holidays and freeze. You know, ribs, steak and hot dogs get cheap around the 4th of July, labor and memorial day. Corned beef st Patrick's. Ham during Thanksgiving and turkey. Ham for Easter. You can also get full on rib roasts for $4.99 during the holidays then cut into ribeyes and have a nice rack of beef ribs you can slow cook too. Freeze. Get a 7cft chest freezer for $199. They hardly use any power and are cheap. I have no idea when certain fish goes on sale. Nor Buffalo or lamb. This covers most bases for 90% of your food intake and nutrition though. Good luck and don't worry, it's only getting better in our new golden age.
>>22211830Lentils are also far more nutritious than rice in every, single way. I don't get people who suggest rice, when there are so many cheap and better alternatives.
>>22211926I buy insant ramen sometimes, those more expensive packs, to check them out. I'm really positively surprised how good they can be, compared to the cheap shit I once ate, adding spices and whatever I had at hand to make it more filling.Nowadays, I treat them like novelty items. Something to check out and move on, instead of being sort of a "staple". Reminds me of those crazy, uni days. I didn't have the security most did in the form of living parents.
>>22213159>I don't get people who suggest ricethey suggest rice and beans, aka rice and lentils. because it’s better than just a bowl of beans.
>>22211761Chicken stomachs are far better. They're insanely cheap, but also very nutritious (like most offal). If you cook them properly, they're soft unlike chicken hearts. Chicken livers also get a honorable mention, but since it's livers, you should only be eating it from time to time, in order to avoid iron/Vitamin A overload.
>>22212997Yeah, the vast majority of coupons and deals are on things my family and I simply do not use. However! I sometimes take them anyway because they can be distributed to the community in various ways. Extra food and clothing can be donated to shelters, pantries and charity shops or simply given to others directly. And yeah, I'm originally from Europe myself and while we have coupons to some degree, they're nowhere near as valuable as they are here. >people end up paying just a couple of dollars for well over $200 dollars worth of groceries?????lmaoOkay, this isn't groceries but I got about $1300 worth of stuff for $10.06 in JulyBlinds/veneziane, a bunch of clothing, a Japanese vegetable cleaver, beard balm, expensive salon shampoo, various party supplies for my son's birthday (which was, at the time, coming up but has at this point passed), shoes, indicator bulbs for my car, welding supplies and FR jackets, sealing tape for roof leaks and more.Nothing I coupon for will ever beat that haul. Not even the free pots of yogurt I was getting for several weeks before the supermarket simply stopped carrying it.

>>2221164220lb bag of rice ~ 20 bucks1 gallon of peanut oil ~ 20 bucks1 large package of chicken breast ~ 15 bucks1 head of red cabbage ~ 4 bucks1 gallon of franks wing sauce ~ 15 bucksA rice cooker on Amazon is 20 bucks.Make some rice in the rice cookerheat the pan just below medium high with about a tablespoon of oil, you don't need more than that.Fillet one of the chicken breasts in half, get both sides oily and use them to spread the oil on the pan. Then cook them until they're golden brown on both sides. Don't fuck with them, just let them cook forabout about five or ten minutes then flip if it's ready.Once the chicken is done, tear up some cabbage and cook it in the remaining juices and the brownstuff that accumulated on the pan. Stir it and move it around the whole time until every piece is moist, don't let it sit keep moving it. When its soft it's ready. Combine the chicken and cabbage with the rice in a large bowl. Add in franks wing sauce to your liking. You can also add fried eggs if you want, you can get 60 for 8 bucks from Walmart.Macaroni and cheese, sharp cheddar, and armour chili together is another good one. Cheap, easy, filling.Look up pasta sauces, pasta, and potatoes. Get BBQ sauce, mayo, mustard, ketchup, AI, etc.Not all at once, just a thing or two here and there. Get the important staples in bulk, like rice, you'llsave money. Use your oil sparingly, a little goes a long way and a lot can easily make things gross. It's absolutely worth it to get some olive oil instead of peanut oil. Avoid vegetable/canola oil if you can oruse it until you can afford an upgrade. A gallon of oil will last you several months if not close to a year.Beans are good, they're cheap, buy them canned, put them with your rice and some kind of sauce.Apple juice is cheap and it's loaded with vitamin c. It goes really well with green tea for a nice morning or afternooncup to sip on. Get tang from Amazon, it's cheap.
>>22213147>I have no idea when certain fish goes on saleThat's all dependent on what's going on. For example, late spring had a bloom of Atlantic octopuses so octopus went ridiculously cheap well in and throughout the summer. Even stores that don't usually carry any started to sell it, like Lidl. Monkfish… well, it, like tuna, is actually always cheap. The problem is that, for lack of a better term, white people supermarkets upcharge out the ass for it. I can get saku blocks of tuna for $6/lb. Yes, that means it's sushi grade. Meanwhile, a similar block at Safeway will cost $22/lb. Monkfish? $4/lb. At White people supermarkets? $18. Salmon? I recently posted a haul where I got it for $9/lb. That's considerably more expensive than usual but that's the economy we're in now. White people stores charge $11/lb and up, if they even sell it by the pound at all. Often, they charge per portion, 5oz being $5. That's $16/lb. I last got codfish for $2.49/lb. Kingfish is currently $6/lb. Mackerel is usually $3-$4/lb. If you live in an area with a lot of greaseball eye-ties, fish of all varieties will go cheap in mid December and areas with lots of Catholics, during the month leading up to Easter. It's not uncommon to get snow crab for just $7/lb during lent or shrimp for just $4/lb. As for rib roasts, prepare to pay $6-$7/lb this Christmas.
>>22213210I'm a white and I don't eat too much fish as there are plenty of meats available bit normally I just stick to Salmon when it's on sale and make sure is says it's from Norway not Chile. I'll sometimes play with tuna and other ones but I'll normally just stick when costco or Sam's puts the salmon on sale then cut up and freeze or cut up, make a shrimp/crab dip inside and freeze like the stuff salmon you sometimes see being sold for a hefty amount.
>>22213181>I'm originally from Europe myself and while we have coupons to some degree, they're nowhere near as valuable as they are here.> about $1300 worth of stuff for $10.06 in JulyThis is what I mean . . . . it's madness. I just can't fathom how places can survive with that sort of discount. The only people I see using coupons in Britain are old people and even then, they might only save £1.50 on £30 worth of shopping.
>>22213226I was shocked as hell that Amazon didn't cancel that order, to be honest. I recently got $220 worth of stuff from there for $18. That's a normal cheap haul for me from the Bezos Bazaar but $1300? Nah. That's Twin Peaks level of weird shit that shouldn't happen.
>>22211847Are you talking about their frozen meat products? Like Tyson chicken tenders or something?
>>22213172actually, i meant shit top ramen from walmart. for about a year i would go to the asian market and just try out some random ramen, the plce had hundreds of different kinds, those actually wernt to bad i wish i had known about that back in the day lol oh also, I was unaware of how to properly cook ramen actually, i alwys made mine into a soup with tons of "broth", then a buddy of mine cooked ramen nice and thick, i had no clue, total game changer.
>>22211904Interesting. When I was in college I would get my meat from Walshart cause it was cheaper than Kroger/Publix from my comparison. This was six years ago, I'll double check your info. Thanks
>>22213173Lentils aren't rice fool lmao Asians eat rice while European peasants eat lentils Look at the difference

>>22211642Honestly, gruel is not as bad as it sounds. Put some fresh nutmeg and black pepper in there, and that shit slaps.Make some rice gruel, and top it with fermented vegetables and a boiled egg. Delicious! Also, soups are great, both as a side or main dish. Keeps your stomach and your wallet full.

One of these combined with various other shit can easily get me through an entire week in a pinch. Take a fifth of it and try it with some onion and put it on toast for one meal, make a burrito for the next, toss it in with some rice for the next, make dumplings for the next, make a pasta for the next... You get the idea.Just using various shit I've got in the cupboard I can eat for an entire week off of $5 thanks to these fuckers.
