Thinking about buying one for my room. I live in a big boarding house, and the kitchen is always dirty and messy. I’m an introvert who doesn’t like talking to people, so I only go down there to cook a few things in bulk. Thinking about buying this little burner thing to toast some bread or make eggs. I will not be frying steaks in my room or anything like that.
Unless you already have a ton of nice but non-induction capable cookware it is better to get an induction top and suitable cookware. It will be so much faster, more energy efficient and far easier to clean, especially when something boils over and spills. Spilled Potato and pasta water will smell awful and you will never be able to clean it all up again. On induction nothing will smell and all you need is a moist rag to make it shiny like new again.
It works. Get 2 and a small airfryer and you have a mini kitchen for 1

>>22213383hes living in a boarding house. he doesnt have $100 for induction.>>22213368they work great but they tend to start fires so be careful not to get kicked out over some spagettios
My house uses expensive propane so I have a little 1kW one and it works great for everything except making tortillas. It doesn't get hot enough to cook masa all the way through. For cooking rice, eggs, and boiling potatoes it's great though. I recommend getting a 1500 W one if you can find it.
>>22213383>better to get an induction top and suitable cookwareThis. It's the most logical and practical.

Thanks, everyone, who commented.I don't want anything to catch fire, so I think I'll buy this one. It's about 40 USD, which is reasonable.
>>22213936I don't know what country you're in but with an induction and a 12" pan its a secret weapon in a restaurant kitchen. You don't have to compete for a range spot and you can make good portions of anything
>>22213368just remember you need to ventilate properly t. retard who used to boil a kettle to make tea at his desk and ended up becoming a mold farmer
>>22213383induction blasts out emf and even reddit mainstream science people say not to get one if the person using it is pregnant (belly level) or a child (head level). so in reality probably not get one at all

>>22213936Good call.>>22213967Great point>>22214119>induction blasts out emfNo.It's highly Localized right at the surface of the glass and immediately adjacent to the pan.Moving back just 4 to 12 inches (10 to 30 cm) away from the burner reduces exposure to negligible levels.***one key point is this:EMF emissions increase if you use a pot or pan that is significantly smaller than the burner ring, or one that is made of non-compatible (non-magnetic) material. So only use the proper size and proper pans
>>22213936Cast Iron pots and pans should work brilliantly too, as long as they are the proper diameter. The only thing that you need to be careful of is the Weight limit for your new stove.Of course, don't slide the pots and pans either, which will scratch the glass
>>22213853>living in a boarding houseNot my problem.
