I use either Arborio or parboiled rice, with a bit of salt and msg (I use Vegeta). During fluffing I chuck in a spoon of butter, a can of baby peas (washed), and some white pepper. It's always the shit and I can combine it with kidney beans or corn as well.

As a Brit, I would be happy with these Roast Potatoes, not quite the way that I do them but they look very good.

We Brits are experts at this sort of thing.

Depends on the main dish. I will always make mashed potatoes and gravy, if I'm cooking something that will give me good drippings to work with.

These aren't pork chops.
Your mash looks dry.
And it's not gravy.
I'm sure you think it's very nice.
But you need to get out more.

Try this.
>>
>>22216511
Yes they are.
No it's not, you're just clearly british and used to eating it drowned in eels and weird green jelly.
it absolutely is gravy.
I'm certain it was very nice.
You need to kill yourself.
>>
>>22216540
>you're just clearly british
Why do you think that everybody who critisizes your food is british?
I know you have some sort of centuries old vendeta? but we are not all british.
>>
>>22216548

British.
>>
>>22216555
>thinks everyone who uses common internet words is british
Paranoid much
Let's say I am closer to you than britain is.
>>
>>22216561
Paranoia has nothing to do with it. I can just tell you want to eat gloop that's swimming in glop.

You are still thinking I am british
Why are you still obsessed ?
>>
>>22216511
british coded for sure. where you from anon?
>>
>>22216605
You're disregarded as British until I see a picture of your own homemade plate of mashed potatoes and gravy, not swimming in green slime or eel goo.
Second guess is Canadian and we know who you still answer to. Might as well be British.
>>
>>22216490
That’s some grainy-ass gravy
>>
>>22216609
I'll accept that, it does look that way. This one did break apart a bit on me. The texture wasn't grainy, it actually needed a little more flour and milk, and to cook a little longer. Too much oil. I can do better, I've had more practice now. Still tasted great. Just eat it fast and breaking isn't an issue lol.

Nothing more irritating than somebody just posting a YT link or a picture without any explanation.

Especially when it comes from a Reddit post over half a decade ago.

The texture of instant couscous is so offputting to me but these mixes do taste nice. Ever had proper couscous? I had an Algerian cleaning lady who would occasionally cook for me and my wife when we were expecting our son. Proper, steamed couscous is really no comparison. Berkoukes and tlitli are good, too, albeit lesser-known variants.

Milk? wtf. It should be sour cream, and there should be dill, and there should be a little bit of vinegar involved (or lemon juice if you're weird).

My grandmother used to keep these in her freezer and make them for me. I would literally just eat these straight, heat it up. They're delicious. I've never seen literally anyone mention them on this board.
>>
>>22219185
No one here is old enough to have been alive when pearl onions were popular. Without looking it up I'm pretty sure their heyday was the 50s, 60s, and 70s. My grandmother sometimes used to serve them on Thanksgiving or other special occasion meals like that. No one on the board ever mentions fondue or rumaki or lobster thermidor or any number of old forgotten dishes and foods.
