Take me back
>>
>>22218977
what even was a gordita before it got cheesed and crunched? sounds like an urban legend to me
>>
>>22218987
same thing but no taco shell, no cheese layer. it was comfy
>>
>>22218987
it's the same thing as a chalupa, except the shell is not fried in oil
>>
>>22218977
there is no going back.
you can only push through.
>>
How can there really be this many fatsos nostalgic about fast food
>>
>>22218977
I looked up the modern menu and used an inflation calculator and you'd be surprised how most items actually stay cheap. Compare that to McD's where a burger today costs TRIPLE what inflation would otherwise suggest.
>>
>>22219061
I think this photo was taken in a HCOL area because I'm old enough to remember this shit being much cheaper in my neck of the woods

i miss this thing
>>
>>22219032
doesn’t gordita mean “little fat thing”? it makes more sense for that to be the fried one
>>
>>22218977
The below information is provided only for reference — it is not being used by me to support or oppose whatever argument you imagine I'm making:
>Median Personal Income in the United States, 2003
$22,670/yr
>Median Personal Income in the United States, 2025
$46,960

So is this like the new thing that you're going to harp on and you post in every thread now?
>>
>>22219180
My fellow Americans are more informed citizens when they realize talking about nominal prices is pointless without relating it to nominal incomes.
>>
>>22219194
So are you going to answer the question or
>>
>>22219197
It is good to live in a country with informed citizenry.
>>
>>22219201
So no then. Gotcha
>>
>>22219090
Yeah this tracks. This shit was definitely not this expensive in my flyover hometown
>>
>>22219040
>how can people be nostalgic about cheaper and higher quality meals than what's currently being served today
>>
>>22219090
why is it always “neck” of the woods and not like ribcage or ballsack

Got it the other day for old times' sake.
$20 for the amount of food I used to get for $10 and not nearly as good as I remember. The meat doesn't seem the same.
>>22219090
I remember a taco being $0.89 when I got my driver's license in the mid/late 2000's. I'm guessing this photo's around 2010.
>>
>>22219350
Just make ur own food
>>
>>22219507
98? How about we go back to the mid 80's when tacos were 39¢? I miss high school.
>>
>>22219099
yeah but usually the best part of these beloved discontinued items was the price. it was not revolutionary but it was good and it cost a bone and a half. wouldn’t be surprised if it came back, but you think there’s any chance in hell it’s coming back at that price? no. it never fucking does. with the exception of maybe for 1 day with a deal on the app. it obviously is a huge part of the business model, it’s harder to just raise the price of something already on the menu. it’s easy as fuck to take it off the menu, then bring it back 5 years later at fucking double or triple the price. people will still get hype for everything they bring back. the bellheads are just getting their rectums resized non stop and thanking Jewco Bell for the opportunity
>>
>>22218977
getting rid of the grilled stuft burrito and baja sauce was a national tragedy
>>
>>22219600
...which is also incredibly expensive and lower quality than it used to be. Zoomies really have no fucking idea.
>>
>>22218977
Even those prices are when things started to get silly after 9/11. Go back to the 90's for true fast food kino.
>>
>>22218977
My go to order was a 7 layer burrito, two baja chalupas and a baja blast. Sauce them down with the original volcano sauce. Man that was some good eating.
>>
>>22219673
You 90’s kids were still getting financially gang raped. Back in the 1960s they would feed my entire school (1,000 students + staff) Taco Bell for $5. That’s value.

if I got to erase one band from existence it’d either be Buns n Roses or Queen
>>
>>22219698
fuck queen. most reddit band imaginable with zero good songs
>>
>>22219698
Wow ok, I'm not really into ABBA but I respect their existence
>>
>>22219706
kek, abba actually made music that sounds good
>>
>>22218977
baja chalupa has never been topped for me.
i miss when menus were mostly words

It's much cheaper than it used to be thoughbeit
>wah your graph ends in 2022!
Flat since then and you fags were saying the same thing in 2022 anyway. Go to the data release yourself.
>>
Tacos are still 1.89 where I live
Not that bad for 20 years of inflation
>>
>>22219599
yeah this photo is almost certainly from much later than 2003 and the date is just edited onto the photo. the prices are almost a dollar too high on some items for it to be 2003.
>>
>>22220061
turns out feeding 8 kids was more expensive than feeding 2 kids. what a revelation.
>>
>>22220197
Average household size over that time range fell from 3.7 to 3.2
>>
>>22220308
Im over that conversation, I'm here for taco bell discussion.
>>
>>22220192
You are too stupid to live.
>>
>>22219679
the 7-layer was so fucking good, and fuck them for getting rid of it
>>
>>22220061
the portion of disposable income spent on food went up because its no longer being spent on things like houses which have become unaffordable for most
>>
>>22220197
Also people ate far less, so even if food was more expensive relatively it didn't matter because everyone ate skinny people portions.
>>
>>22220628
That just means they spent several times more for even less food, thus you are arguing against your position
>>22220513
Housing getting more expensive would push the percent of income spent on food downward, not upward. You are arguing against your position

Wtf was a "Fiesta Burrito"? I don't remember that at all, sounds so generic.
