So earlier at work today, somebody told me that they had a "bowl" for lunch, like Igaf, right?

And I had no idea what the wtf they were talking about. A "bowl". A bowl of fucking what? Bowls aren't edible, you put food in the bowl and eat the food. So he didn't understand what *I* didn't understand, I was like wtf fuck are you talking about, he just kept saying like "you know a bowl, like it's a bowl". Like yeah I know what a bowl is retard, how nondescript of you to say that you ate a bowl.

Anyways I guess what his dumbass couldn't describe was something like pic related. You get it at some shitty chains and instead of making something they just throw all the shit in a bowl and you mix it up and you eat it and...that's a big deal to people? I guess that's desirable? It's easy to eat or something?

Anyways, is "eating a bowl" common for you people or people you know? Like it's a normal thing to "eat a bowl"? Sounds fucking stupid like it's just the ingredients for something but you didn't actually make the something. Idk first time I ever heard of it, it's both fascinating and infuriating how little people can articulate what they're trying to say, you know what I mean?

>Anyways, is "eating a bowl" common for you people
recently yeah. I do eat “burrito bowls” at home because I can’t be assed to assemble tacos anymore. I can’t think of another “bowl” besides poke bowl but that’s not the same thing because poke is only ever served in a bowl I think

>>22219530
I can spot a few minor differences between this and chili

It comes from the stupid Buddha Bowl trend from years ago and also Chipotle bowls. It just means putting a carb, veggie, and protein in a bowl for a meal.

You are the most annoying person who posts here

Guy in OP's story is using a buzzword.

>You get it at shitty chains
Those are for morons who overpay for trendy names. Any idiot can buy rice, vegetables, and whatever meat or beans they want. I make my own super cheap, but don't go around saying "bowl."
>>
>>22219519
Oh, this is due to shitty branding. Places that serve crap like poke bowls, protein bowls, salad bowls, etc. don't have them branded so you can't go "I had a McCluckin Bowl today" and have people understand you went to McDicks and got that specific thing.

Essentially fast food is catering to the keto/fitfag trend and trying to shill "healthy" food to the goyim. So they made various bowls and stuff, but didn't really brand them because it's sort of a passing fad that will likely disappear.

And of course if you mean a bowl of noodles, that is properly branded as Ramen and Pho. So people know what you got in 1 word. Same shit with poke - say that and people go "oh".

Chipotle is probably the most recognizable "bowl" out there, but it's definitely not branded there either - largely due to it being "build your own". So names are hard to add to it.

Anyway OP, a bowl is typically gonna be rice plus some beans, protein and veg per your order.

Yeah pretty much used to hearing "a bowl" all the time. It basically means no bread/tortilla/etc., and is generally a protein with some veggies, rice/cauliflower rice, a sauce, and whatever other ingredients.

It's probably easier to say "a bowl" than specifying in a lot of situations. Like, my favorite Greek place has bowls that are legit. The teriyaki place? Bowls. Chipotle? Bowls. KFC? Bowls.

Typically it's just easy to digest and eat quickly with very little cleanup or chance of making a mess, like eating a salad. Grab a spoon and eat.

Bowls are a complete meal in a bowl. It's carb, veggie, and protein but in a bowl. The food is bite sized and meant to be eaten with a single utensil like a spoon or fork.

speaking of bowls get a load of this silly shit

For me it's the Papa Johns bowls of pizza toppings and cheese. Even ja/ck/ thought they were stupid and didn't like them
>>
>>22221272
I assume so but I'm not really sure. Clearly this is entirely using their sandwich fillings so it's probably the veggie patty thingos I guess?

What a brilliant marketing move, this costs them no fucking money (just introduce rice to the food prep) and they don't have to learn anything new, it's all just the same fillings and toppings in a bowl with rice.
>>
>>22221275
reminds me of the pizza-oven baked pastas from Pizza Hut (or was it Dominos). Those were pretty good though just so fucking unhealthy. Salty creamy cheesy pasta that was so good your pupils would dilate. And they were just stacked in the freezer and send through the pizza crawler so they probably loved getting those orders. It looks like they've been discontinued which makes me sad because now I want one
>>
>>22221277
I do enjoy a good bowl of some slop and rice but it's so easy to make at home I can't imagine going to subway for it.
>>
>>22221286
I don't know if pizza hut had them but Domino's certainly did. They also had bread bowl pasta made from a small pizza dough. I remember the alfredo was just penne, a shitload of alfredo sauce squeezed from a bottle, like 6 oz of chicken breast, and cheese. It was ridiculous.
>>
>>22221291
Turns out it was pizza hut (I just searched my email for past delivery orders). Last time I ordered it was 2022 lol.

The webpage still exists but states at the top that these are no longer available. Dang I will have to search for an alternative
>>
>>22221288
yeah it's retarded. i guess if you were already out looking for lunch you might be in the mood for a rice bowl but I would never leave the house for it
>>
>>22221305
Domino's still has them
