Is it ever justifiable to NOT toast the buns of your burger?

Are their any styles of burgers that are enhanced by having cold, chewy-soft buns?
>>
>>22219651
I wouldn't say cold, but room temp kaiser roll, all crusty and slightly crumbly, favorite burger vehicle device.
Also I prefer cold subs over toasted or pressed, so other opinions may be wrong.
>>
>>22219687
couldn’t be me. I like my subs pressed to about an inch thick
>>
>>22219651
yes anon, have them however you like.
burger-making has become complete faggotry. there's this new bald bearded faggot what gets recommended to me on youtube now- you know the type, chunky wholesome but says fuck a lot. in fact the series is called
>what the fuck does x know about burgers?
and he'll criticize all kinds of actual chefs for seasoning meat before forming patties, or for not toasting buns, or for not arranging the burger a certain way, as though there's a fucking mandate on what a burger should fucking look or taste like.
I assume this is the type of faggot who'll laugh at Italians getting mad at people calling pasta with cream "carbonara", but he acts sanctimonious about fucking burgers and the proper order of veggies. I hate that fucking guy.
>>
>>22219699
there's a slight order to vegetables on sandwiches if you're pedantic about that stuff. like, tomatoes should be between two others, lettuce being the nice layer on top to prevent your bun from getting soggy
if you can eat a whole hamburger at once in one sitting it won't matter much but some of us graze, tossed out a soggy bottom bun earlier and had an opened face burger
>>
>>22219699
>t. prefers meatloaf patties

Disgusting
>>
>>22219715
>noooo it has to crumble my favorite bearded bald tattooed foodtuber told me so
shut the fuck up you fucking queer
>>22219699
>to prevent your bun from getting soggy
And if I don't mind soggy buns? And if I don't like sauced up iceberg?
>if you can eat a whole hamburger at once in one sitting
yeah I'm sure a cold and stale burger is much less offensive than *gasp* soft buns

>And if I don't mind soggy buns?

Sure dude, whatever, some people enjoy eating literal human feces, you do you. Fuck, I hate Americans.
>>
>>22219790
>Fuck, I hate Americans
As if Americans are not the fucking babies who must have their bwead toasted (read: fried) or they cry for a different plate. And that is if I even grant you that bread stops absorbing liquid when fried, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Warm, soggy lettuce is 1000x worse than warm, soggy bread, you cunt.
>some people enjoy eating literal human feces
Coming from the guy who eats reheated, or even better, cold burgers. Pipe down, princess
>>
>>22219651
Depends on the bun. Potato buns must be toasted. Pretzel buns can be raw.

This is one of the reasons why Wendy's is not doing well. I haven't been to Burger King since 2014, but I remember them toasting their buns.
>>
>>22219651
The true heart of burger is the interface of cheese and burg. Peripheral flavors and textures distract from this. With a gummy bun you feel like eating a chunk of meat. Who you trying to impress? Raw onion? fuck off.
>>
>>22221190
you saying a hamburger has no heart?
>>
>>22221194
i wouldn't feed a hamburger to an animal.
>>
>>22221200
What about a guber burger?
>>
hawaiian roll or potato bun
>>
>>22219699
there is a key difference between carbonara and "burger", because carbonara is a specific dish with a specific taste and specific ingredients. Meanwhile "burger" just means "flat disc in bread", which means you can make whatever you want and call it a burger.
For me, it's a grilled cheese with a thin patty and caramelized onions inside.
>>
>>22221661
That’s not a burger, it’s a patty melt.
>>
>>22221927
patty melt is a burger

Yeah no duh
Hence the stupidity of complaining about burger assembly or patty forming habits
>>
>>22221989
And another thing. Cheese? Usually pointless. Unless it's a gouda or a cheddar or something sharp, it's only there to look nice. American cheese has no taste at all so it's there just so children can watch it stretch.
>>
Okay, how about this: Hamburger buns, but with everything seasoning on them (garlic flakes, onion flakes, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and kosher salt).

Is that anything?
>>

>Apatty meltis an American grilledhamburgerconsisting of aground beefpattytopped with meltedcheeseandcaramelizedonions between two slices of griddled bread.
Here you go, but if you disagree please define "burger".

keep in mind the first burgers used toasted bread
>>
>>22222012
NTA, but if it’s just a burger, why does it have a different name?
>>
>>22219790
Hey, don't you talk shit about Tom Pearl! Dude helped me through a divorce, he's a national hero!
>>
>>22222015
a burger is a general style of recipe, a patty melt is a specific dish

I like both cold buns and hot toasted buns and I use my whimsy to determine which I'm having at any given meal

4/10

Something about the cheese melt looks like it has bad mouthfeel. You really need to work on your presentation skills.
>>
>>22222992
It's literally just sliced mozzarella
>>
>>22222999
Fucking hell. I was hoping it was at least a white cheddar, but mozzarella? On a burger? Christ.
>>
>>22223005
What's the issue? Mozzeralla is good
>>
>>22223009
Because in order to get a melt like the one in your picture you have to be using a very low-fat content mozzarella and if you're using a very low-fat content mozzarella what's the fucking point?

And even if you were using a full-fat mozzarella, it's a burger, not a fucking pizza. Donkey.
>>
>>22223014
Actually I think it might have been provolone, I don't remember
>>
>>22223021
That seems more likely to me now that I look at the picture again. But, again, something about the melt looks off. Very plastic-y sheen. Perhaps because it cooled too long from off the grill as you set up the picture. Not sure. Fuckin hell.
>>
>>22222992
>mouthfeel
Whoops, opinion discarded
>>
>>22223032
You were the kid who chewed on the rubber tires in lego sets, weren't you?
>>
>>22223028
It looks fine and it tasted great
>>
>>22223035
No, I was the kid who learned words so I could articulate properly without having to resort to using idiotic words.
>>
>>22223049
that's weird because you just used "words" twice in one sentence
>>
>>22223053
Stop, you're giving me a bad brainfeel. It's making my heartfeel worse. I'm welling up which isn't a good eyefeel and don't even start me on my throatfeel. You fucking cunt.
>>
>>22223114
Lmao, this is what they mean by dunning Kruger.
