Now that WW3 and complete economic collapse is on the horizon how are you stocking your pantry to survive until it all blows over?
I'm going to do nothing like the last 14 times ww3 was on the horizon
>>22220422This time it is different.
>>22220435Legitimately what makes you think otherwise? Like what kind of fucking logic is "something like this hasn't happened in my lifetime yet, so it couldn't possibly happen, ever, that would just be crazy".Like are you people mental? The world doesn't have unlimited fucking crude oil reserves so how do you expect shit to play out?
>>22220584Making fun of people who think it is on the horizon is not saying it will never happen, it is just saying that it is not on the horizon and that people who think it is are delusional. Complete failures in logic like this is why most everyone makes fun of you.
Great thread. Just two retards yelling at each other.

>>22220420I don't think WW3 will happen but I have about a couple of months worth of supplies in the pantry so I guess I'd do alright in case of disaster or short-term global shortage. If it comes down to some kind of mega death virus or volcanic winter or whatever I'm just gonna die.
>>22220627>a couple of months worth of suppliesconsisting of what?
>>22220634Canned pork, canned veggies, canned fruits. My family puts like 75% of produce in jars and in the pantries it goes. And I also stock up on water, just in case. The rest is regular long shelf life stuff - rice, dried beans, flour, etc.
>>22220420>WW3 and complete economic collapse is on the horizonit's not.it's prevention is on the horizon.
>>22220584>The world doesn't have unlimited fucking crude oil reserveshahahahahahahahahahahahayou know nothing of gasification and reassemby.we're fine.the ai is fixing it.that's 1.2. if we run out of oil we can't manufacture weapons so ww3 ends by default.
>>22220627This. If the world is so bad I'm having real trouble feeding myself then fuck it. I also have some month's worth of supplies, I think I could live a year off rice and beans alone, but I'm not prepping intentionally, just buying in bulk because it's cheaper.
I don't think the end is nigh, but if I did, I would buy canned goods at the store.I'm not so cheap that I'd risk having botulism during WW3 just to save 25 cents on some tomatoes.
>>22220584how old are you, genuinely? is this the first time you've seen an oil crisis?
>>22220584You are right and wrong at the same time op. Thats to be expected when you just start a convo in an unserious place. Go elsewhere if you want realistic thoughts. The internet is dead. You shouldn't even assume most users are human. Just listen to your local authorities for the best risk factors. If your local gov is inept. Well that's the end of your story. There should be guides already for local solutions. 4chan and the internet in general won't be help now.
why the fuck would you want to be around in a situation like that? i think too many of you watch zombie movies and think you'll be the badass with the shotgun with unlimited ammo mowing down everything. spoiler: it won't be. it will be more hellish than anything you can even conceive of. watch the movie Threads. that will give a rough idea. be forewarned: it WILL fuck you up. as it should be. a post-apocalyptic scenario is nothing you should ever wish to be in.

Im prepping for the US to be a poor post soviet union collapse sort of situtation. Im staying as debt free as I can. I own enough land to support myself without having to intensively work every inch of it.Im also buying everythieg with the thought that I might never be able to replace it.oh and Im collecting trees and bushes, and seeds while US consumering is in full swing and I can still get literally almost anything.
turn 360 degrees and walk away
>>22221151COVID was my only taste of this (as it was for tons of other people), and yeah, being trapped inside my fucking apartment and being afraid to even approach another human being got old real fast

>>22220420Build a larder.Dry long term storage goods that you can cook healthy home meals.Having a good larder means not buying food when prices go up.Buying seasonallyBuying bulkA dedication of 200$ a month to a bulk purchase means freeing yourself of the dependence on grocery stores.Amazon is a giant evil corporation that has huge negotiating power and will ship for free a lot of bulk size items.Buy starting:saltShugarRed whole wheat berries ( lasts forever in proper storage)White riceVirgin coconut oil ( has a good shelf life)Variety beansBuy a slow cooker Learn to can to buy in season fruits and veg when cheapLearn to garden Learn to forageLearn to cure meatsLearn to graft ( graft pear branches to Bradford pear trees and fertile cherry to decorative cherry)Plant native forage plants in your local park and wild places ( you can plant more than you can eat, people are generally stupid and won't recognize forage)Living like this gets you prepped in knowing how to scale up with skills you already have and time to scale up with resources you already have. Also actual prepper here ask me anything

>>22220420i have so many medical issues, i'm going to be nothing but a burden on whoever i happen to be with. i'll stick around for a bit, but the very minute a discussion on re-prioritizing our rations pops up, I am blowing my shit smoove off out of courtesy.
>op starts a thread about shelf stable foods and ingredients to stock up in case things go wrong>the entire thread is anons arguing not about the food but about feasibility of scenario delineated in oppic apparently unrelated
Learn the basics of salting fish / meat to preserve it. Bags of salt are cheap and the basics of salting are clean and gut -> dry out as much moisture as you can -> cover in salt.
>>22220420Two more weeks.
I made a bunch of fruit spread and canned it up. Frozen berries on sale.
>>22220584Even if your oil fearmongering was correct(it isnt), estimates still have us going through 2060s or 2070s. But guess what little guy? They have done this before. And guess what happened? They totally found """new""" deposits that extended the le collapse date back. And this was before we had newer electric options to phase a lot of oil usage out.
>>22224061Isn't there going to be a shortage of ready to use oil because the major refineries got butt touched?

>>22220584Gas prices in the US increased by like 50%... If you knew your history you'd know it shows how crisis-resistant the US is today. 70's had gas prices rising by 300%
>>22220420Still no boots on the ground. Still no thousands of US casaulties. Still no $250 oil per barrel.
>>22220420>Now that WW3 and complete economic collapse is on the horizonJust impeach trump and every one of his fucking admins? it's not that hard.
>>22224269Which can be a few pre fabrication aluminum hoops. Dump some scrap wood/branches in to keep mosture and take up space to make getting garden quality dirt cheaper. Anybody asks about the teqnique just say it's hugelculture to sound smart even tho it's mostly just being cheap. Some places let you have rabbit cages outside your apartment window or back deck or porch area. If your rex rabbits are for fur and meat that could be between you and God. They are a traditional pet in most estimates, nobody asks.
>>22224419>how crisis-resistant the US is today. My man the US has never had any kind of real actual crisis. Things go up by 1% in your country and you panic like chickens with your heads cut off
>>22224771Splendid, we can agree that WW3 is not on the horizon and amplifying prepper rhetoric to own drumpf is cringe
>>22224898Most preppers are Republicans and as such most of the market is catered toward them
i'm not a prepper nor do i think civilization is ending any time soon, but there is something that really tickles my autism about being able to collect and store and plan down to the last calorie every meal you can make in such a scenario for a given amount of time. and i wonder what they taste like but it probably isn't any better than the equivalent slop you can already buy at the store.
My two cents. The US is going to go through hard times like we did in the 1930s, the 1970s and to a lesser extent the 2008 financial meltdown. Things aren't going to collapse all at once, rather it will be a slow death by 1000 cuts. A lot of the knowledge about how to make do and get by is still around if you bother to look for it. People living in high rise condos who don't even know their neighbors and have to drive just to get anything are screwed. People with land and live near family and friends will do better.Mother earth news is hippy dippy back to earth, but they do have sections on growing and preserving your own food.https://www.motherearthnews.com/The USDA also has an entire center to food preservation including canning, pickling and drying food.https://nchfp.uga.edu/how/

I'm making persimmon butter and canning it up.Wild persimmon grows here and I can get about 50 lbs free.

I'm following ja/ck/s recent advice and making a water cellar for storing water in sealed glass mason jars. Plastic isn't safe for long term water storage. Ja/ck/ has a strong feeling there may a big happening soon.
>>22228196>Ja/ck/ has a strong feeling there may a big happening soon.and you think the retard that's had 4 strokes and changed absolutely nothing about his diet is worth listening to?
>>22228234/ck/ is a Ja/ck/ board.
>>22228234Yes. He has a good point about storing water in glass jars instead of plastic. Water in plastic goes bad.
