So, I have a package of boneless, skinless, Chicken thighs today. Thinking about throwing them in a slow cooker for dinner. I have a thing of Chicken Broth in my cabinet and a package of Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce. What's the best way to make this?I was debating putting the chicken in the broth in the slow cooker for maybe 6 hours on low and then draining some of the broth and adding the Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce for an hour. Thoughts?

>>22221770can I just dump the jar in the slowcooker instead?
>>22221767Brown the chicken first and deglaze the pan with a little broth. That sauce is too thick imo so you might want to thin it with more broth, use your judgement but don't overdo it. Stir in extra butter at the end right before you serve. I tried a bunch of those butter chicken sauces and that one was my favorite, good choice OP.

>>22221772NTA, but that's not entirely unheard of: dumping the entire jar of a sauce into the crockpot is a common method when making bbq pulled pork: pork tenderloin into crockpot, add chopped onions, pour bottle of bbq sauce in, cook on low 7-9 hours until the meat's tender, then shred with forks. Your mileage may vary with that simmer sauce, though.
>>22221767Sounds like a good plan.Don't worry about browning your chicken first, it's a bit of a myth.I will also say that perhaps an hour is too long, these sauces don't seem to keep their flavour if you overcook them. By all means add some butter, cream or greek yoghurt at the end.
>>22221767I'd dice some onions, brown them in some coconut oil, add some diced garlic ginger, coriander, cumin, turmeric, bit of tomato paste. Once that's all bloomed a bit, I'd add some diced tomatoes and maybe a couple bay leaves, salt. Once that's simmered a bit, I'd add some cooked chickpeas, take it off the heat, some garam masala, a bit of coconut milk or cream. You can use the rest of the can for some Basmati if you want. Then just keep that warm, serve with cilantro, rice, maybe some naan.

>>22221900I meant the can of coconut cream
>>22221767If you're going to add peanuts or cashews, brown them first then put them aside.cut up the chicken and cook it along with onion, capsicum, and oilonce it's done pour in the sauce and bring it up to a simmer.when you put in the sauce add in any soft/frozen vegetables that don't need any significant cook time. snow peas & broccoli are the main ones I like. I sometimes add a jar of peas & corn. add back the nuts if you have them.As long as you properly cooked the chicken you won't need to simmer it for more than 10 minutes, just keep it from boiling over and you're getting heat through everythingserve on rice, and/or with bread
