the older I get the more bland I like my food, I used to put sugar and creamer in my coffee, now I just drink it black, if I season my food it's just salt and pepper, I used to drench everything in hot sauce but I don't see the appeal in that anymore. I do like olive oil, butter, and savory things like meat and cheese though.

your sense of taste gets worse as you get older and men start to seek out salty and savory foods because they have the strongest "taste good" stimulus even if you are barely tasting them. preferring bitter coffee may also be an extension of this where you're seeking out a stronger flavor to compensate for diminished taste.

Not liking hot sauce is weird though I've generally seen the opposite phenomenon where older people slather everything in salt and condiments.

long covid will do that. get another jab

Is it really getting older or being a smoker and drinker? I kinda blame my lackluster sense of smell and taste on the latter.

>>22223458
smoking makes it worse but your taste just gets worse as you age much like all of your other senses

;_;
At least they’re working on that “third set of teeth” pill
>>
>>22224338
that would be nuts

I get what you mean. But just because you have gone off covering things with hot sauces and prefer simpler flavours, it doesn't mean the food has to be bland.

These anons have missed the point entirely.

Surely if your senses dull then you would be after stronger flavours?

I said that in that in my post but I know that reading is hard. I'll wait here and you can come back in a week when you finish reading the thread and we can discuss it.

Made up story.
>your sense of taste gets worse as you get older
Untrue, although tastes can change.
I guess my first post really butthurt you didn't it?

Sometimes being caught out serves as a lesson to you.

it's not only true but it's common knowledge. I hope you are a zoomer because if you aren't then you don't even have an excuse for being this stupid and ignorant.

The older I get the more seasoned I like my food. I use less hot hot spices but I always keep the spice level nice. As i get older i appreciate the flavor differences of sour contrasting with sweet, as well as the nuances of different ground peppers. As i get older i realize the foods i grew up with are much different than the foods children eat today. I eat better now that i am much older..
