>In a 104-week trial of 493 adults who are overweight or obese, diet soft drinks were equivalent to water for long-term weight management, with no evidence that they disrupted appetite regulation or caused long-term metabolic harm.

This actually doesn't surprise me. Calories being king and all. It does kind of stand to reason that artificial sweeteners could fuck with your insulin response, but even if that is correct it shouldn't be a huge problem if your diet is otherwise reasonable.

I do think there is something of a psychological poison in diet sodas. Like, if you are a fat fuck and you are trying to unfuck your fat ass diet I think the most powerful approach is to take ownership of your behavior and learn to be in control of it. Diet soda feels like a half measure. What those people really need to do is learn that they dont need to constantly be eating and drinking for entertainment or to satisfy impulsive cravings.
And I say all this as a reformed fat fuck myself.

Im sure this thread will turn into a shitshow. For whatever reason we are incapable of discussing nutrition without going off the rails.

most of us already knew that with the exception of the mentally ill

Why not just take a GLP-1 agonist instead of all that?

Thermodynamics wins again.

Yeah, well, carbonation causes bloating and therefore weight gain, faggot. Also leeches calcium from your bones. Throw in lots of sugar and caffeine and you have an even more addicting, weight gaining beverage to entice you.

fucking up your insulin and blood pressure is already bad.
thanks, RFK jr!

> why not take a strange ans expensive drug instead of just not eating human dogfood

I dont know what to tell you.
>>
>>22227179
>expensive
It's not.
>Strange
To any ensouled being, something being "strange" is nothing.
>>

>Why not just take a GLP-1 agonist instead of all that?
Everyone I know who used them experienced side effects.

> It does kind of stand to reason that artificial sweeteners could fuck with your insulin response
how so
it doesnt stand to reason if you consider the mechanisms of insuling response
>>
>>22227185
>It's not.
It's at least $200/month and often more.
>>
>>22227353
That's expensive to you?
>>22227196
The side effects of obesity are worse.
>>
>>22226997
The reason I stopped consuming artificial sweeteners is cause they consistently and demonstrably fucked up my digestion.
As soon as I stopped, things started improving.
Everytime I have some it immediately starts up again. Gassy, bloated, diarrrhea.
Fuck artificial sweeteners, man. I just restrict my calories the regular way instead.
>>
>>22227354
>The side effects of obesity are worse.
Yeah, but people are still able to lose weight without medication if they fix their diet. Your choices aren't obesity or medication. Medication should be a last resort if someone can't make proper lifestyle changes.

>carbonation causes bloating and therefore weight gain, faggot
All carbonation is forced from the liquid in your stomach and you belch it out.
>Also leeches calcium from your bones.
How? It never reaches them?
>Throw in lots of sugar and caffeine and you have an even more addicting, weight gaining beverage to entice you.
This is sugar free drinks, most of which are also caffeine free.
>>
>>22226997
Still not drinking the caloric jew.
>>
They still fuck up your teeth though
>>
>>22226997
>a liquid with zero calories has the same effect on weight gain or loss as a liquid with zero calories
wow incredible
praise science
>>
>>22227773
>>Also leeches calcium from your bones.
>How? It never reaches them?
He's dumb, it's not carbonation it's phosphoric acid, like in coke
>>
>weight management
Okay now show us cancer rates, especially since sucralose was found to be a genotoxin.
>>
>>22227810
You can look up cancer rates for artificial sweeteners yourself, and if it caused cancer in two years or less then what would you have to hold over everyone's head for "in a few years?" I mean, you're probably still getting plenty of mileage out of the COVID vaccine, why would you throw away your golden egg, anon?
