Considering a stint in the military (prior military experience is useful for the area I want to get into afterwards, as is free college gibs). Which branch has the best chow?
>>
>>22233006
Don’t they all eat the same literal ZOGchow? Or actually I think the navy has cooks on the boat, unless I’m just remembering something that’s outdated at this point
>>
>>22233006

>>
>>22233006
Whoever told you that is likely full of shit.
>>
chairforce you will eat very well while you do your guard duty rounds or some other menial job. maybe you will be lucky and be selected to be a mechanic which leads to high paying jobs
>>
>>22233006
I was in the military. USAF. The base I was stationed at did a lot of joint operations, meaning we went to other branches bases. I never had Marine food, but I have had Army, Navy, USAF, and some other European nationalities.

USAF had the most consistency across bases, while Navy and Italy was either absolutely tasteless or like, 4 star restaurant - no in between. I have always believed it relied more on the individuals in the kitchen rather than the branches. I am sure there are some Army bases out there with kickass chow halls, I just never ate at them. Army was consistently just above the minimum for being edible.
>>
>>22233006
Air Force. There's no question, everyone from every branch agrees.
>>
>>22233174
To be totally clear, I was a crew chief. Mechanic, not a nonner. I also had the bare minimum you could call "food" while deployed, but that is to be expected. You also have more freedom to just cook normally in the military, in my experience. You dont HAVE to eat at the chow hall every day. There is the BX you can go get groceries at and just live normally. The main issue you will run into is time. If you are a single person living in the barracks working on the flightline, there will be times where you work 16 hour days and literally have zero time to do anything but shower and shave. It all HEAVILY depends on where you are stationed and what your job is. Work some nonner job, and you work "9 hour" days. First hour is PT, an hour lunch break, so actually 7 hours. Work flightline, and you are gunna be living out of microwaves and whatever fits in your backpack.

Any military Anons able to tell me what the MREs are like? So me of the stuff online looks interesting.
Also Steve is the only worthwhile food show on YouTube.
>the fact that he's a ripped gigachad will never not be funny to me
>>
>OP is probably named Ramirez or Gonzalez
Lmao he aint getting into the space force or the chair force.

OP, you have Marine Corps written all over you, peoud of you devil dog Gonzales now you will enjoy crayons
>>
>>22233194
As someone who eats MREs while camping but wasn’t ever in the military I’ll give you a perspective. Some of it tastes good, some is meh. Depends on which menu you have. Usually it’s passable as food and can be quite nourishing when you’re exhausted and need calories and electrolytes.
>>
>>22233006
Wait, what area are you trying to get into? If it’s not aerospace i doubt it actually helps. Most employers I’ve worked with openly complain about dealing with military folks, like if you aren’t fully out they complain about deployments and drills.
Pro-tip for everyone, it still comes down to who you know vs your resume.
>>
>>22233194
MREs are exactly what they look like; packaged slop. Not that bad, honestly. They're edible and some items are really good, but overall they don't beat a real DFAC.
>>
>>22233006
Air force and space force are the best from what I've heard
>>22233194
MRE's are basically just lunchables for adults. You don't eat them much unless you are like, deployed or something. I dunno, my job never deploys. I only was given them during boot camp.
>>
Why is the military like 50% filipinos now?

I don't think that's a sub. It looks too big inside.
I always assumed that was thanksgiving dinner or some other special occasion on a big ship.

The odds of dying are so astronomically low you might as well be a civilian. And you get all the benefits. Really it just comes down to if you want to deal with all the daily annoying shit that comes with working in the military.
>>
>>22233006
I have never been in the service but I did work with a guy who was a cook in the US army reserves.

Not exaggerating but he was one of the dumbest people I have ever known. To the point I think he had a legitimate learning disability.

Last I heard he was switching careers to be a small town cop and had also started a fire in the middle of the night in the kitchen during one of his weekends at the military base.

Ahh those were the days. Now the military is just mystery meat browns and blacks preparing slop for each other.
>>
>>22233009
every branch uses the same recipe cards, but it will differ wildly based on who's doing the cooking. The Air Force from my experience has the most consistently "good" tasting food, while the Army can differ based on whether it's a Sodexhoe civilian or some Private who got lied to by his recruiter and doesn't give a fuck. The Coast Guard probably has the best cook career field out of all the branches, they regularly get sent off to civilian culinary school for professional development.
Here's all the recipe cards that the military can use.

In the navy they feed you a lot of good food because it's harder to have gay buttsex when you constantly have a rock hard turd in your ass

Why wouldn't you want to be a drone pilot?
>do your job from a comfy AFB in the homeland
>go home after your shift ends
>never in physical danger
>"think I'll pick up a popeyes on the way home"
>earn combat medals while actual front-line personell seethe about it
>>
>>22234278
>gets shot at Popeye's
The ghetto areas outside of base often are the most dangerous places a young airman will encounter.
>>
>>22234240
It is the military branch with the best food, there isn't even a contest here.
>>22234278
I have a friend who was a drone pilot and it sounds god awful. Most of the time you don't even pilot the drone, it flies itself, you are just there as the human in the loop to pull the trigger. Most of what he did was stare at screens and wait and sometimes he would go weeks without doing anything else.

Also, unless things have changed, drone pilots do get deployed, while they may not be front line they are close enough and are high value targets.

2 reasons. The us military is the single greatest class elevator in the world, and expedited naturalization.

They’re planning to deploy more drone units for piloting less expensive drones.

This is why I never joined the military. I can't imagine having to work with a nons or having them as superiors. And when I see pictures or videos of people in the military, it looks like walmart. Everyone hating it, but doing the dance because the supervisor told you to and you've gotta put on a smile. Humiliating

seems unlikely given how few americans die in combat. your odds are worse driving in traffic on a busy highway lol. you brown people really need to get in touch with reality.

>>
>>22236976
Yeah, its unfortunate that so many veterans are in shitty situations like that. Doesn't change the fact that if your a broke ass kid with no prospects or financial stability the military gives you a decent paying job, a month of paid leave every year, health insurance, tuition assistance while you're in and 4 years of paid tuition & housing when you get out

Nope, I was a 35P, Cryptologic Linguist (Arabic)

I remember the only gay rule there was that if you were in groups of bigger than 2 on the Troop Walk, you HAD to walk in formation, so everyone would just walk around in pairs, lmao

That and they made us walk around with M16s with 3 blanks in the mag, but they wanted us to have 1 in the chamber and clear it EVERY TIME we went into a building. I think I took all the blanks out of my mag right when I got back to my room

But for me it was the midnight chow
>>
>>22244577
Fucking forgot about all that on the troop walk. So fucking stupid. One of your army fag nco's busted me for smoking, cause us chair force fags were the only branch that couldn't smoke even 18+. Midnight chow was def solid though. Good blast from the past.
>>
>>22244684
>One of your army fag nco's busted me
Well it's AIT for most of us there, so almost every NCO is a TRADOC fag with a stick up their ass, looking to bust anyone for anything

>cause us chair force fags were the only branch that couldn't smoke even 18+
lmao I think I saw one of you guys getting in trouble for that when I was at DLI. The dude wasn't even in uniform or around his barracks, he just got recognized by someone higher ranked who told on him
>>
>>22233006
Navy, specifically on the submarines.
