i enjoy sandwiches but i am clearly making them wrong because every bite isnt identical and perfect every time.

tips for sandwich making? favourite fillings?

i love ham and cheese (often things added). plebian taste im sure, but i also enjoy brie, mango and chill jam, or an egg salad (and smoked salmon) sandwich.

it is possible. in fact this was a trend with the kiddos not too long ago, the “chopped italian sandwich”. the idea is you put all the ingredients on a cutting board, chop it up and mix it all together. a more homogenous sandwich experience.
>>
>>22239358
There is no way each bite is perfectly identical.
Maybe I’m too autistic for this concept
I reject it whole heartedly and accept a variety of bites
>>
>>22239361
I thought it goes without saying, the finer the chop the closer you get to reaching god.

I've had the third one, it's very good.

why dont you just drink every meal as a blended slurry then
>>
>>22239389
do they even make anything other than American anymore? never seen kraft cheese that wasn't fake parmesean or yellow American slices.
>>
>>22239401
They make pepper jack which is probably sort of close to pimento. Swiss I remember from when I was a kid but they killed that at some point. Old English survives as a spread in a jar. Brick was definitely killed a long time ago.

sandwiches are freestyle make whatever the fuck you want they all work, to an extent...
>>
my mom used to give me a veggie sandwich when i was a kid i really liked. it sounds kinda lame but it really slaps kinda like how pbnj is somehow pretty great. its sourdough toasted, alfalfa sprouts, avocado, romaine, tomato and you salt and pepper it with mayo and specifically cheap yellow mustard. ive tried adding things or using fancier/alternative ingredients and it never really got better than the simple one she used to make.
>>
>>22239317
I made sandwhich for lunch today. sliced chicken, sliced smoked ham, red onion, tomato, lettuce, bit of aioli, salt, pepper.
>>
>>22239317
Those all sound like good sandwiches, is there a particular area of the sandwich you like least? You may want to do more like >>22239516 and have the filling slightly hanging out of bread, so you don’t get mostly bread bites. Also for me it’s muenster, havarti, or cheddar cheese

>>22239365
The last supper must have been an Italian BMT pate on toast
>>
BLT’s are so good. I don’t understand how something so simple, can taste like that. I literally just put bacon, lettuce and tomato on sourdough with mayonnaise and Italian seasoning. Next time I’m going to use gochujang mayonnaise with it.
>>
>>22239897
yep its pure magic. simple and elegant, no room for improvement.
>>
Egg and bologna sandwiches are amazing when you are in the mood for it. When I make an egg sandwich with bacon instead I always put chives in the eggs. They look pretty and taste yummy.
>>

Croque Monsieur is another sandwich that is so simple and wonderful. I love those too.
>>
>>22239483
my ideal loaf is a potato sourdough, although the large holes aren't great for sandwich making. suggestions?
>>
>>22239673
i heed your advice, wise sage
>>
>>22239341
depending on the sandwich it doesnt matter, i am just autistic enough where i require the last bite to be perfect. although anything with a boiled or fried egg with a runny yolk will always be perfect
>>
>>22239358
That looks kino AF
>>
>>22239358
not all too appealing but i am open to maybe trying.

Try the croque monsieur if you haven’t already.

mon'y cristo is so goddamned decadent and wrong but damn

i don't have a reaction image for how fucking insane and retarded your thought process is, op.
>>
>>22239365
no.
in fact, the exact opposite is true.
no chop is perfection.
>>
>>22239897
>I literally just put bacon, lettuce and tomato on sourdough with mayonnaise and Italian seasoning
you should try it the correct way.
bacon and toast separate on a plate.
tomatoes are for sauces.
lettuce is for burgers.
mayo is an abomination.
italian seasoning is midwest lawry's.
>>
>>22239365
>>22239358
a friend once tried a similar approach with pizza toppings. it didn't taste bad but it wasn't good
the homogeneity just isn't good. it's extremely boring to have every bite be exactly the same; also being chopped up, you don't get to bite into anything

onions, jalapenos, bacon, two different types of cheese, olive giardiniera . You can combine two different meats and make a meaty cheesy synergy. Toast over low slow heat in a pan with butter. I like mustard and pickles but both together can be easily overpowering

Also tuna salad or chicken salad + a slice of American cheese is nice

I like sandwiches but I'm very picky about them. first of all I can't stand the kind of bread that comes already sliced and in a plastic bag. secondly I don't like most deli meats, although I like a good italian sub with salami and gabagool. I also hate mayo and lettuce. my favorite sandwich is the french dip. does anyone know of a non-unitasker tool that works as a panini press? I tried smashing between two preheated cast iron pans, but it's not very convenient and doesn't work super well.
>>
>>22239389
That is not pumpernickel
>>
>>22243268
it looks like pumpernickel
>>
>>22243268
Americans use "pumpernickel" to mean any rye bread, not actual pumpernickel
>>
>>22242654
>does anyone know of a non-unitasker tool that works as a panini press? I tried smashing between two preheated cast iron pans
You only need to preheat the bottom pan, you flip the sandwich halfway and put the top pan back on to press.
That said, some version of a foreman grill isn't exactly a uni-tasker, you can use it for grilling lots of things and it does sandwiches as well as it does sausages or chops.

>>22239317
>tips for sandwich making? favourite fillings?
Use excellent bread from a bakery or that you baked yourself, a dutch oven sourdough is trivial to make and there are a million recipes online.
My secret is to use a bread machine to mix and knead the dough but not bake it, transfer to whatever pot/pan/tray you want to bake on. Also handy for pizza dough.

My favourite sandwich is good white bread, thinly cut. Butter both pieces and add medium sliced tomato and thin sliced white onion, salt and pepper. Nothing else.

I make my egg sandwiches with a jammy yolk instead of a runny yolk to avoid the problem of breaking the yolk
>>
>>22243722
>It's not his fault, he's just looking for the perfect egg bite
I can't get behind jam/jelly on a savoury breakfast but otherwise that's relatable.
What went wrong for him in that bite? It looked like he had everything?
