i'm going to start taking a daily cup to help with some digestion and inflammation issues i have. current recipe i've found to go off is>1/2 lemon, quartered>1 inch piece of ginger root, peeled>simmer in pan 10-15 minutes>garnish & enjoypost recipe suggestions and general lemon ginger tea benefits and if you like it or dislike it. first cuppa is tonight
>>22240326Add cloves and cinnamon.
>>22240326How was it? Are you leaving it unsweetened due to the digestive issues?
>in the evening slice ginger, unpeeled>throw into thermos>add juice from one lemon>pour boiling water>have a nice warm lemon ginger tea for a whole next day
>>22240326cayenne pepper is good for colds and inflammationthyme for phlegm all this and honey is my go to for colds/flu
lemon and any citrus is horrible for digestive issues>>22241197cayenne is also fucking nuclear levels of retarded for digestive issuesjust make ginger tea. the part of the tea that is working for your digestion is the ginger. the lemon is just flavoring that gives you acid reflux and irritates your esophagus.
>>22241112it was alright. i think i used too much ginger and i should pickup some cinnamon sticks to use in it too like the other anon suggested. i usually dont like sweet tea anyway
>>22241512Maybe add some mint?
>>22241549i'm going to i grow it here at home. last night i made it in a rush and wasnt happy with the recipe i used so tonight i'm going to refine it a bit and use less ginger and let it steep longer
I puree peeled ginger and boil it in water. You can leave it on the stove and reheat all day. Stir, scoop, drink. Sweetener is optional. It also goes well with tea/coffee flavoring syrups.
>>22240326I loooove lemon ginger tea :3
my second cup turned out a lot better than the first. i juiced the lemon instead of quartering it to simmer it. i sliced the ginger piece instead of keeping it whole. i added a pinch of turmeric and a few mint leaves from my little balcony garden. 5 minute simmer and then a 10 minute steep. much better
>>22243574Consider just adding lemon juice when the tea is resdy, i think lemon tastes a lot better un cooked
>>22243707i did it that way. simmered everything then added the lemon juice before the steep. all the recipes i looked up say to juice a whole lemon but 1/2 lemon seemed to be just fine
a little bit of honey is nice rather than lemon
>>22241565If you plan to grow mint make a barrier si the runners don't take root, or just regularly get rid of them, since when mint takes root it's a bitch to get rid of.
>>22244319its in a little 4 inch pot. nice and safe. i have some clients who neglected that in their yards and paid the price. years later you still see mint fighting its way out of the dirt
>>22240326>>22240408This and I would also add orange. I tisane like that is also great with some cream and nutmeg. I like to add a splash of lime juice as well. Sweetener is optional.
>>22244841Maybe get something wider. I grow mint in an old cooking pot, it's wide so I have a decent amount of mint.
>>22240326>digestion and inflammation issuesWhy are crunchy people always dealing with nondescript "inflammation" issues? What does that even mean? What part of your body is "inflamed" and what does that feel like? Are you physically swelling up and turning red? It seems like you have an actual medical issue like an allergy if so
