Of my group of a dozen or so friends growing up, half got into fitness, and half didn't. The ones who did ate clean, ate healthy, and frequently indulged in convenient, canned tuna for easy optimization of protein per calorie. The ones who didn't just had a normal diet that young people had, burgers, fries, milkshakes, etc.

The ones who were into fitness developed substance abuse problems. They became irascible and unreasonable. Their academics struggled and a few dropped out of uni. Some developed violent tendencies. There is a vacant blankness in their eyes when you interact with them even today. The ones who ate more 'unhealthy' and didn't exercise as much are the '300k a year math major' meme, and are all successful, wealthy, starting families, and they now take decent care of their physical health even though they aren't mega athletes.

I 100% think the risk factor of mercury on our nervous system from fish is understated, and the effects are cumulative, compounding, and take decades to finally leave our bodies. It just isn't worth it to me to eat seafood anymore because of that, and because I've seen what it can do.

>b-b-but dood it's nutritious it's got good stuff you can't get anywhere else!!!!1111!

You can get protein from any lean piece of meat or greek yogurt. Vitamin B12 from lean meats and greek yogurt. Omega 3 fats from nuts and greek yogurt and chia seeds. Vitamin D from 10-15 minutes of sun per week. There's just nothing in fish you can't get elsewhere without building up a toxic stockpile of mercury in your body that will never go away. It's even worse if you're a woman, because it affects any and all future fetuses you will conceive for all of your fertile years. I don't give a fuck if sardines are "low" in mercury, when you can get every nutrient from them in other common sources, and it defeats the purpose of them being low in mercury if you eat them so often and so many of them. The one thing you can't fuck with in life is your brain health.

i only eat herring and only occasionally
it's mostly our own fault that there's so much mercury in the water so this is probably fate

If you want to counter years of mercury build-up you can do a heavy metal detox. This usually involves a combination of herbs which you mix into a smoothie and drink daily. A lot of those "super greens" drink powders are formulated for this purpose.
For mercury one of the most effective herbs is cilantro powder. It doesn't taste great.

So toretto and company were criminals due to diet of tuna sandwiches and coronas ?
Is that your thesis ?
