His passing has left a roux-shaped hole in our hearts and a serious shortage of seasoning in the world. Emeril leaves behind millions of fans, countless cookbooks, and enough BAM! energy to season the afterlife.

His final words? "I’m about to kick heaven up a notch!" The funeral will feature spicy gumbo, a standing ovation, and a strict no-bland-food policy. In lieu of flowers, please send Tabasco sauce or just yell "BAM!" Rest in peace, Emeril. You may be gone, but you’ll never be medium rare in our memories.
