Does anyone else have some kind of shokugeki cooking autism? I dont really think this is something this show inspired in me but it did shine a light on it. Basically a lot of the time I make really experimental dishes, instead of following tride and true recipes. Sometimes I hit some real winners that way, but I think i just want to because it makes me feel good and accomplished, it gives me a tangible goal for the day i can actually accomplish for once instead of the stuff I never get around to.I don't think im anywhere near on the level of a pro chef, though I did work pantry in several restaurants that's not the same as being a line cook. I can only prep stuff. I have no sense of timing and don't get tickets. I just thought I'd ask if anyone was as continually inspired as me?TL:DR blogpost about a wierd dish you madehard mode, blogpost about a wierd dish you made that wasn't very good. For me what comes to mind most is curry rice and coffee, using a mixture of mexican flavors. the worst experiment so far was edible but it was ajino tamago salad sandos. The sweetness of the mayos and the egg just dont mix well.
>>22243114that obnoxious show did not inspire me at all
>>22243119not really the point
>>22243121if your question is “do you experiment with cooking?” the answer is not since I got sober. I made some real abominations back in the day.
>>22243114I am extremely autistic but I've also gotten into fitness lately so everything I cook is crazy dogfood-tier autism slop that mixes and matches different types of carbs (pasta, rice, potatoes) with some type of meat protein (chicken, beef, pork) and a sauce usually with greek yogurt as a base. I like crunchy texture sometimes so when I want that I throw in chips, fried onions or crushed cereal. Calorically it's usually very high but not bad when divided into meal prep portions. I've gotten a lot stronger.
>>22243114>shokugekii had to google this.the results were awful.anime after dbz is derivative of dbz.it's basically ai art but made by people, which is worse.
>>22243324this post sounds like it was made by ai which is ironic>>22243198incredible, you have me beat. though if I was aiming for fitness like you I would lean away from simple carbs in favor of things like sweet potatos and such
imagine being a grown ass adult and even thinking this way
>>22243365Imagine using "ass" like that
>>22243365respect your elders sonney
>>22243114im just here for the fast food threads bro, aint that deep
>>22243361>incredible, you have me beat. though if I was aiming for fitness like you I would lean away from simple carbs in favor of things like sweet potatos and suchThanks! It's mostly personal preference that I can't fully give up, so I am still balancing health vs autistic obsession with certain foods, tastes or textures. I'm doing a lot better than I used to at least.
>>22243366I love using ass
>>22243114Most of my failed experiments are usually me trying to bake something in a different sized pan. I did make a sweet potato version of carrot cake recently and was disappointed at first but after a couple days in the fridge it became awesome
i made a risotto out of old freezer meals i had stored and it was the best rice-based dish i've ever had. it had bits of apple, mustard, and some dashi-based stock i had made from old thanksgiving leftovers. i wish i had written down what i had made it with
