Is it possible to make decent tasting burger at home? They just never have the same flavour and texture you get at restaurants. Either the bun is too soft or breaks to easily, or it's too soggy from the sauce or the patties are dry or are too salty.
>>
Yeah, you can make one that tastes decent with proper technique. What it really comes down to is that you don't have the equipment they do
>>
>>22243193
you dont have a stove?
>>
>>22243194
I don't have a ten foot flat top and a deep fryer. Burger places are not cooking hand formed patties in a pan on a stove top burner. My first coming job was at a diner, I'm not a fucking idiot
>>
I make burgers at home that taste better than anywhere else
>>

>smashburger
I am betting you are not using high enough heat or are overcrowding the pan and there’s too much liquid in there
>the bun is too soft or breaks too easily
Stop buying shitty wonderbread buns, get decent ones and toast them

For normal burgers, I pinch the edges up and indent the middle so you don’t get a hockey puck, put it on charcoal, high heat for like 4-5 minutes max with cheese on it the last minute. Toasted buns, caramelized onions, pickles, and homemade burger sauce (ketchup, mayo, relish) and almost nothing beats that

No. Accept that you are powerless and allow a higher power to restore you to sanity (McDonald’s)

You gotta rip those things off the ceiling and put them in a drawer

fat and salt and fat and salt and fat and salt. that's why restaurants taste better. do likewise and you'll be amazed at how good your homecooked burgers taste.

yes.

It took me a while to get it down. you probably want to do it with lower heat. Lots of people fry all the moisture out of patties. Im not gonna celebrate mcd or burgerking but their patties are not crusty

When I was a child I thought it would be impossible to make a good home burger. Eddie Murphy's standup routine about some terrible, non-Mcdonalds homeburger always stuck with me. Some ball of meat with chunks of green pepper hanging out, put on sliced bread.... he painted such an awful picture.
Of course it's easy to make a good burger at home once you know what you're doing.
Never trust comedians for how life is.

Whenever I see these threads, they are always trying to find excuses to not cook at home. The advantage of making them at home is that you make it the way you want it. You don't need to try to copy this or that place. The problem is that normally people who keep eating out rarely have ingredients for anything at home. That is why they keep bitching how it is expensive to cook anything. While this people who cook all the time always have the stuff they need in store. You committed your life to not cook. So just accept it or change your lifestyle.

People who regularly cook at home can make great burgers. People who don't cook have no fucking chance.

A little, yeah. I got thrown in the drunk tank when I was 18 for doing way too much acid and calling the cops on myself. My brain hasn't really been the same since and I'm 35 now

I would kill for a flat top as part of my kitchen.

>>22243189
Get some msg, toast your buns, and get a patty press.
What’s your current recipe? Maybe experts here can help trouble shoot.
Too dry may be from overcooking a patty that’s too thick

You sound like a whiny little faggot. All fast food burgers are low tier. The issue is that you don't know how to cook. The burger that you posted is a perfect example of your retardation.
>>
>>22243193
>>22243196
Any decent cook can make a far better burger than any restaurant with a basic frying pan. It's shocking how uneducated you people are.
>>
>>22243189
It cant solve all your problems but for me personally I got a circular cast iron thing with a handle I can use to press the burger down and leave it there to get a thinner patty and better crust. Try using a few spices on the burger or going heavy on black pepper.
>>
>>22244613
You don’t even have to be a decent cook to make a far better burger. All you have to do is know what ingredients to use, and then use them correctly.

Is it weird to say I don't think black pepper is good seasoning for a burger? I think onion powder and salt is pretty much all I need. Whenever I decide to give black pepper another shot and grind some on my burger, or smashburger, or sliders when I cook it, it just doesn't taste as good as without. It's fine on steak or chicken, but for some reason it's not that great on burgers in my opinion.
>>
>>22243189
to make the perfect burger, you will need divine intervention.

Go up one step in bun quality from the store brand ones. The larger brioche/hawaiian buns will hold together way better than the cheapos, especially if you toast them. For your burgs you probably need to use more salt if you're going for restaurant flavor, line cooks are not known for holding back on salt. Cook at a higher temperature on a heavier pan, or get some fat hot in the pan before you put your patties down to get a closer cooking surface to the hot and oily flat top that most burger places use. A thinner patty will cook faster so it's easier to get a harder crust without overcooking the beef and drying it out. If you really want to make thicc-ass monster patties, consider a reverse sear, as fruity as it is.
