Basically the reason why 99.99% of all microwaves fucking suck is because for some reason Big Micro decided it's a great idea to NOT give the vast majority of microwaves inverter technology meaning when you try to "lower" the power of your microwave it actually does this:>FULL POWER>off>FULL POWER BLAST>offetc etc, causing your frozen food to have weird hotspots and complete cold spots, the inversion tech fancier microwaves have partially solved that problem by actually giving a stable lower power instead of doing that bullcrap, they also usually feature a steamsensor to vaguely kinda estimate if the food is done being unfrozen. But Japan has upped the game by just straight up measuring your food in 64 different spots 10x per second permanently solving the cold spots issue. Inverters and steamsensors have been around since the late 90s, genuinely what has the microwave industry been doing for the past 20+ years????
>>22246090>when you try to "lower" the power of your microwave it actually does this:I'm willing to believe it but what you described has never happened with my Europoorean microwave(s).The problem of microwaves is that the outside gets too hot while the inside is cold, and I doubt this can be fixed.Interesting topic regardless.
>>22246090>partially solved that problemSo they haven't actually solved that problem. Lying bitch.
>>22246090okay but how much does it cost? it's not going to make your hot pocket taste better, you know.
My 1200W inverter microwave cooks better than my 1200W hot plate. To unlock the true potential of the inverter technology you need to use the power button to NOT cook at full blast.
>>22246103It can easily be fixed lowering the frequency causing the waves to dig deeper into the food heating it up evenly
>>22246104I was referring to inverter technology anon (the shit every fancy microwave has), the actual HEAT SENSOR Japan managed to integrate is brand new and that's the thing that COMPLETELY solves the issue
>>22246090>>FULL POWER>>off>>FULL POWER BLAST>>offMy chinese microwave does this leaving hot and cold spots on the food. I just deal with it by going full blast all the time and leaving it for a while with the door closed so the heat spreads around
>>22246090The real solution is to just buy a lower wattage microwave in the first place. It takes less than a minute longer to cook whatever, but that gives it more time to spin and let the heat disperse. I hate using other people's microwaves because they think higher wattage means it's better so some spots heat up really fast but there's always cold spots leftover.
>full power off/onit's finethat's how your thermostat works too
>>22246090since Europeans were mentioned specifically here, this reminds me of a conversation I had with them about microwaves. I said something along the lines of "microwaving a pizza ruins it because it makes the crust soggy" and the response I got was that a microwave is an oven so I just need to use it like onecan anyone explain this? are microwaves different there than in the US?
>>22246090>FULL POWER>off>FULL POWER BLAST>offAs long as the frequency is high enough and the thermal capacity is high enough, it makes no functional difference.Granted adding a sensor feedback loop to control the average intensity, whether via duty cycle modulation or power modulation, will certainly yield a better and more uniform heating.
>>22246090The faux-inverter feature is still very useful though. Most people are too retarded to use power settings though so even a real inverter wouldn't matter.
>>22246090>JAPAN HAS SOLVED THE MICROWAVE QUESTIONwe solved it awhile back.
>>22246090>JAPAN HAS SOLVED THE MICROWAVE questionLe yawn, call me when they solve the JQ
>>22246234>call me when they solve the JQi already solved that.we switch from debt and scarcity to molecules.now nobody can have economic power because you can't owe molecules.
what's the point of 64 points of temperature detection if they are all on the surface?
>>22246316Assuming a uniform composition (necessary to make any calculation even remotely feasible on such a wide variety of possible inputs), you can infer from a uniform surface temperature some information about the overall heat distribution of the target.Granted, it's, at best, just some heuristic based on a lump of organic matter with a given water content, but it might be better than nothing.
>>22246324>it's better than nothingthat's all you had to say, faggot
>>22246108i think the reason they have the frequency set so high is because it's close to the resonant frequency of water, so if you lowered it too much it wouldn't function
>>22246137yes microwaves are different here but nobody treats microwaves like they are ovens and US microwaves don't magically make pizza non-soggy
