You now remember Ponderosa Steak House. Where you could get a delicious steak and a God tier Salad bar and buffet.
>>
>>22247546
I still don't remember it.
>>
>>22247581
Same, zero recollection here.
>>
I remember it but the more based version was Shoneys, it had the breakfast bar. Waffles made to order, pancakes, fresh bacon and sausage, b&g....oh lawddd
>>
>>22247546
the only thing i ever got from ponderosa was the wings and a roll.
when i got older i remembered the flavor of the wings and used that memory to learn how to properly use white pepper.

>Waffles made to order, pancakes, fresh bacon and sausage, b&g
yeah, that's called "dogshit", anon.
breakfast food is for at home, not a buffet.

I went once. All I remember is the spaghetti was half overcooked half underocoked and stuck together but that didn't stop me from putting chocolate pudding on it.

Wasn't it called Spaghetti Factory?
>>
>>22247743
I'm shocked that this isn't an AI fabrication. Why does a warehouse have a tram?

>10% parmesan (dump a whole shaker in there)

Worked at the Pondo in the late 80's.

>>22247666
Shoney's was linked to Frisch's I'm thinking.
>>
>>22248260
I just checked and the one in my hometown is still open but they charge 9.49 now. It was only 5.99 a few years ago

I think that OP's point was that we have lost A LOT of value and quality, even in 15 years.

>boomer still thinks he can spot AI images because they all "look like AI"
you poor confused thing
>>
>>22247743
Right after Sandy Hook we were a couple tables for the train. Some kid in the train popped his balloon. I shit you not this old boomer at a table near us started getting his kids under the table. The whole restaurant went silent. I laughed my ass off and got a lot of dirty looks.

My wife wanted to go to one of those while we were visiting friends in Texas and the whole place stank like a public restroom. We didn't even sit down we just turned around and walked straight out.

why would they have a menu on the wall
>>

Those are the main dish options. You order one, then get access to the buffet. Or, you can just get buffet, but won't get steak/ribs/fish.
>>
>>22250304
makes it look like fast food. I've never been to a Ponderosa but I assumed it was just like outback / texas roadhouse / etc

>I've never been to a Ponderosa but I assumed it was just like outback / texas roadhouse / etc

Nope, at places like Ponderosa and Sizzler's you went up to a counter to place your order, gave you a number plaque, then you sat down and they brought the food to your table. Drink refills were handled by the wait staff, IIRC - it's been decades since I've been to one. It's a shame they've been dying out; given how expensive full-service steakhouses are, and the Current Economic Situation, you'd think they'd be seeing a resurgence
>>
>>22247546
I do kind of miss this place but it wasn't good. Ours was right next to The Ground Round which I think had better food. They are forever connected for me.
>>22248260
The one time I went there I loaded up on the all you can eat pizza buffet and had to shit something awful. Only one bathroom was functional and it only had one stall, it was clogged and people kept using it, shit was heaped up about a foot over the bowl. Ended up going next door to an Asian market where no one spoke English and things were getting dire, kept asking where the bathroom was and everyone just kept giving me long speeches in languages I don't understand, I would ask where the bathroom was and they would talk for two minutes and then look expectantly at me. It was a photo finish.

The Ponderosa here was a normal casual dining restaurant, hostess would seat you, waitress would serve you. If you ordered the salad bar she would bring you a plate so you could go fill it up.
>>
I remember being a kid, and my mom taking there for breakfast buffet for my birthdays :)
Sadly, the only Ponderosa nearby closed after a hurricane.
>>

looks like cici's level quality
