>>22253021are you jain?
>>22253024wtf is jain?
>>22253026that's the only religion i can think of that might have restrictions on pumpkin
>>22253028oh, Santeria also prohibits me from eating pumpkin
>>22253005Stir fry it with Zucchini like the Chinese and Thai
>>22253030I'm also prohibited from eating ass, pussy, dick, pork and drinking alcohol... .I miss pussy tho
>>22253030ah, interesting. sorry, i dont know much about santeria, so i didnt realize they had dietary restrictions. I've seen piloncillo at the store a lot but never used it so maybe this is the time.>>22253031you have intrigued me. i think I've also seen thai use pumpkin in curry.>>22253009do you just do it the exact same way as a butternut squash soup? that seems pretty easy
>>22253005Never tried an American orange pumpkin but pic related are good for soup so I imagine the orange ones are too.
>>22253005An anon is doing some creative cooking with pumpkins in this thread >>22240492, will be exciting to see how it evolves
Not OP, but I just came home from traveling for two months and had to cut my lawn one last time and I was in a corner of my property and these two things came out. I never planted pumpkins or anything over there before. I bumped the green one amd it ripped off and then I saw the orange one. The hell? I just am using them for decoration I guess? Weird.
>>22253120Animals eat things, including the seeds. The seeds go through them, they shit in your yard, you got pumpkins. Ever wonder why honeysuckle grows in fence rows so much? Birds eat the seeds, land on the fence, take a shit, there you go.
>>22253120you have been visited by the pumpkin troll. do not squander this gift, lest you suffer his mischief
>>22253113interesting, I'll check it out. that thread got filtered for some reason.
jam it and cram it
i had a flash of inspiration because of all your help so I'm going to wing a yellow curry pumpkin soup with a can of pumpkin i found in a hole in the ground
>>22253210now simmering
>>22253238Curry pumpkin should be really good, nice choice
>>22253140>>22253139Makes some sense I guess I only mow this one area once a year just to look good for winter. So should I take the seeds and plant those or just throw them out there randomly?
>>22253270If it was a pie pumpkin I'd say plant it. Maybe Google to see if you need to do anything for easier germination. Up to you if you want decorating pumpkins though.
>>22253244thanks it turned out good. a little spicier than i was expecting since i normally use this portion of curry paste for larger batches of curry, but very warming. tastes very similar to butternut squash.>>22253270idk if they would grow if you plant now, but you could see what happens. if you dry them off you can save them in an envelope for next planting season. or just roast them and eat them.
>>22253005slow in the oven and I choose this type
