>the future of soft drinks
>near-limitless combinations of flavors that could never be made commercially viable
>at one time, contained main syrups for every core beverage in the company catalog and allowed you to mix them with any of the mix-in flavors
>internet connected statistics inform decisions about consumer preferences without requiring them to give over PII on a mobile device
>bespoke design including proprietary flavoring microdispensers made by the Segway inventor and intended for mixing drugs and a proprietary water filter/dispenser system from Frigidaire
>First generation body cladding designed by Pinnafarina to evoke both the Dynamic Ribbon and the iconic glass bottle vending machines of the 1920s and could be ordered in original red, diet silver or zero black metallic colors
>all undone by cheapskate restaurant operators who wouldn't pay to install and claimed the flavor cartridges are too expensive and Jewish soda executives requiring draconian service contracts
>somehow couldn't convince their number one business partner with whom they're synonymous to install any, even after making a custom machine just for them
>further undone because online fatfucks wouldn't stop crying it "doesn't taste as good" because said cheapskate business owners wouldn't pay their employees to properly clean the nozzles
>miniaturization and a full redesign turned an Italian supercar of a machine into a soulless generic blob with a fuck huge screen
Coke Freestyle, whatever happened there
>>
>>22266443
ill just take a coke, please and thank you
>>
ice first then sprite then coke nigga its that easy

Freestyle sucks for restaurants, there is too much maintenance required for a fast food place that will only have one machine dispensing thousands of drinks a day.
It's been like 15 years since these launched and their best applications are in novelty environments like movie theaters, theme parks, airports, where they can set up a fleet like your picture and while still dispensing a lot of drinks, they aren't fully reliant on one machine. Plus, everyone who walks into a burger joint is going to get a drink, it's just how it is, while not everyone is going to buy a $7 soda in one of those captive environments.
Coke made the mistake of trying to supplant the normal fountain instead of turning these giant behemoths into a complimentary piece.

They didn't take anything from me. They still have that at Burger King. And I don't use it.
>>
My Burger Kang still has it, but I don't drink soda. I do get a lemonade once in awhile.
>>
>>22266443
sounds about right, too many lines of syrup and too many nozzles to get clogged, without proper maintenence it'll start tasting like ass pretty fast especially if some nozzles are barely used and the syrup stays in the line for a long time
>>
>>22266446
anon loves taking coke
>>
for me it's peach mello yello
>>
Why the fuck does it take most people 4 minutes to use this fucking thing, not to mention moron kids putting every flavor into a cup etc...
>>
for me its coke zero

It's not that they went away entirely, they have just been ruined by the greed of restaurants operators and Coca-Cola. They have arbitrary restrictions on mixes now too, used to be you could add any flavor to any base, now you see one that has Vitamin Water and they only offer two or three varieties instead of letting you make something new. Why the fuck is something with no base flavor like that even in here? Ditto Powerade. They should let you take a base Vitamin Water and modify from it but instead you have to take garbage.
They took Fresca off of many machines and have barely brought it back, again with less customized options. You can no longer make things like Coke with Grape or Peach, Sprite Green Apple, etc. Fanta should by all rights offer every flavor in the machine. It doesn't.
They fucked up the tea selections a shit ton too, used to be Fuse tea and then they slowly started limiting how many options for it were allowed, now it's been replaced by GARBAGE Gold Peak or Peace Tea in all machines.
Freestyle should have been a lifeline for dying sodas, there's no way Vault was unpopular enough to justify killing it as retail beverage AND in Freestyles. NOBODY LIKES MELLO YELLOW
Instead it's such limited trash now you basically get the same 5 "good" options every time, most of which are sold separately.
>Cherry/Vanilla/Lime/Lemon Coke
>Grape/Orange Sprite
>uhhhh
Then they have the gall to release new shit "based on freestyle data" that no one wants! No, nobody wanted Orange VANILLA Coke, nobody wanted Raspberry VANILLA Coke, just give me the flavor straight and stop trying to sell it as some ice cream nonsense.

I have never used one of these machines
>>
>>22266560
Slow dispenser where the button press is delayed so no one knows when to stop.
Touch screen's totally unresponsive and the software is slow as shit to go between menus probably because these things are using the same chips they were designed with in the mid 00s. The current version of the menus has way too many screens and cutesy animations, it's awful, why do the drinks have to be split up on the main screen? The original ring of bubbles was perfect.
There's also no reason in 2026 that they shouldn't have an upgraded machine with an auto dispenser. Fucking gas station coffee machines have this.
>>
>>22266565
I like mello yello and vanilla coke
>>
>>22266565
I love orange vanilla coke. I wish they sold it in stores.
>>
>>22266573
Reading comprehension. Vanilla coke is good but not when they mix it badly with other flavors. On a Freestyle, straight up Orange and Raspberry Coke is actually surprisingly good. Then they get scared of releasing it for real and add vanilla to assuage normies (and it sucks)

>>22266575
They do and have for like 4 years. It's garbage. Whatever you make on a fountain must not be as bad, this is kind of vile. They killed Coke Life and Coke with Coffee for this btw
>>
>>22266577
I think orange tastes good with vanilla

Interesting — I've never seen that in stores but I also only buy soda a dew times per year. Maybe I'll pick up a diet vanilla coke and add a slice of orange to it.
>>
>>22266656
I live in rural nowhere and Walmart has orange vanilla coke. Just check Walmart.

>further undone because online fatfucks wouldn't stop crying it "doesn't taste as good" because said cheapskate business owners wouldn't pay their employees to properly clean the nozzles
As if the previous nozzles were being cleaned. I used to clean them back when I gave a damn but I was the only one and that was a long time ago and I've thankfully escaped the service industry.

It's a toy from the 1970s. There's a bottle in the back you fill with cola and it gravity feeds into the valve. There's no mixing in the machine itself and since it's not compressed in any manner, the amount of cola it can hold and dispense is small. The whole thing gets sticky and attracts insects so it ends up shoved in the basement or thrown away.
Pic related is what the Pepsi version of the Freestyle machine looks like. I've never seen one in the wild.
>>
>>22266443
They spend literal decades and billions of dollars on R&D to perfect the flavor of a soda. Some fatsass wandering into mcdonals isn't going to just wing it and magically create something better
