what's the best water bottle
i was going to get an owala but it seems like it's for retarded women that make social media short videos or something
>>
I have the 32 ounce owala and it's pretty good in the summer to keep drinks cold. I just grabbed it from Walmart randomly. I also have a stainless steel kleen kanteen that I've had for 13 years. Nalgene is good and cheap if you don't mind plastic. Camelbak as well.

I use this one at the gym https://thermos.com/products/icon-water-bottle-with-spout-64oz?variant=42292179107996
32 oz for everything else.

i've bought Yeti for over a decade. pricey but worth it i think. i wish it wasn't a plastic top but i think they all use plastic for the top sadly.
>>
>>22267089
I hate that you can't wash the painted ones in the dishwasher without the paint chipping off that is why I only get bare metal ones.
>>
>>22267089
This one is bamboo not plastic
https://www.kleankanteen.com/products/plastic-free-insulated-water-bottle-20oz-rise-reflect-bamboo-cap
>>
>>22267094
the bamboo is decorative. the lid is stainless steel with a little silicone ring at the top that acts as the seal.

not the same thing, retard
>>
>>22266973
It depends on how strong you are arm is
>>
>>22266973
The depends if you want double walled stainless or not. If not, nalgene. Those are still very well made, never leak because they do the thread angle properly, tough, easy to clean, and they're reasonably inexpensive.
>>
>>22266973
I use a TAL, the curvy 40oz ones. Its pretty good and can hold pop without spewing it everywhere or going "pop" itself.
>>
I had a basic one from mira for a decade and it lasted through several factory/warehouse jobs. It got pretty dingy so I recently bought a zoujirushi. Too many have stupid lids when all I want is a wide mouth screw on type on a 32-40oz bottle.
>>
>>22267094
damn that's nice...
i don't understand why this one is bigger but cheaper though

I have a klean kanteen I use for backpacking/hiking.
They are nice because you can boil water in it on a stove and the top fits most water filters

Any glass waterbottle will serve. Just remember to reverse osmosis filter your water.

Better than drinking chlorine and bleach i guess. The sorry state of americans

you know you can get salt from food...right?
>>
>>22266973
It depends on what you're using it for. If you just want to hold a liquid, get any cheap one. If you want one that looks pretty, buy pop shit that is more of a fashion statement like Owala or Hydroflask

Tal 40oz cup for going out
Ball Mason jar for the house because I use water flavorings and cleaning a jar is less work than cleaning the cup's straw

why not just use a glass cup like a normal person
>>
>>22266973
I don't get the point of those.
if I buy water, it usually comes in a bottle already.
I mean a Voss bottle looks nice, but why would I buy a 'stanley mug' or whatever its called for 80 bucks, and fill it with tap water?
is this some kind of status symbol?
"look at me, I drink tap water out of a 80€ bottle"... wtf
at least fill it with vodka or something ...

I did not know that.
I usually lick these stones in the woods, for my salt intake...
>>
>>22268088
The insulation keeps the temperature super stable, good if you want to keep stuff cold while you work on the lawn for a while.

I also pour beer in mine and drink that in the parking lot to avoid paying $20 for a tall boy at the hockey arena. My blood bank gave me a nice big one for donating last year.

>>
>>22267196
they are literally sippy cups in the op you fat manchild lmao
>>
>>22268243
you're a minority
most everyone finds them normal and acceptable
>>
>>22268106
This is the reason to get one. I have a a Hydro Flask and I can fill it with cold water and ice and it will still be icy cold and sometimes still have ice in it 24 hours later.
>>
>>22268326
Hydro Flask here too, for the same reason. They're shockingly effective, I have a little one that I use for coffee and I have to put a few ice cubes in it because otherwise the coffee will be undrinkably hot for like 6 hours.

>>22268088
Bottled water doesn't stay cold and it's wasteful. My fridge dispenses filtered cold water and there are also water bottle filling stations at work. I recently had to buy bottled water when my fridge died and it took a few weeks to get replacement parts and it was shocking how many bottles I went through a day.
>>
>>22266973
owalas are really great, you should get one. iignore the retarded social media women

>>
>>22267598
thirding this. Great quality brand.
>>
>>22270113
Looks like garbage this is why I only buy bare metal ones once the paint scratches and chips it look terrible.
>>
>>22266973
OP, you basically have two choices for normal everyday use
1. insulated stainless steel
2. insulated ss with ceramic coating.

The ceramic coating prevents any taste effects from the stainless steel on both water and drinks. I prefer it for water and tea. RTI makes them.

There is a third option: just metal for camping. These can be heated in a fire. But they are useless for daily carry in normal life.

Plastic should be avoided. Sure it's lightweight, but it leeches chemicals, tastes funny, and is not durable at all - it will collect up scratches and can be harmed by high temps. Plus it doesn't insulate for shit. Plastic is only good for bladders and other collapsible emergency solutions.

>>22267637
It just makes you crave a bit more salt than normal, super easy to correct for, and it's FAR better than consuming sulfur, lead, and other shit that may be in the water supply. Not to mention fluoride, chlorine, shit, and whatever else the fuckers running municipal water supplies dump in theirs. Reminder: I don't need more flouride, I get way too much from my black tea, like it's just barely within acceptable limits.
>>
>>22270587
>The ceramic coating prevents any taste effects from the stainless steel on both water and drinks.
fwiw I've never noticed any taste effects from Hydro Flask bottles. I can't say the same from other brands though, both major ones like Kleen Kanteen and off brands. I only use mine for water and black coffee and some other types of drinks might have a different effect though.
>>
>>22270587
okay but what's the best kind of lid

screw off, flip straw, etc
>>
>>22271249
removable straw to wash separately, removable lid. i only use water in mine and mold still wants to grow
flip straw would be nearly unmanageable
>>
>>22271249
I really like this Hydro Flask one, lets you close the bottle easily and makes spills much less likely even when open, while still letting you drink normally instead of having to suck through a straw. It's also easy to disassemble and clean.
>>
>>22266973
Rtic. Literally just a yeti ripoff company made by a couple of dudes in texas who thought yeti was too expensive. They're much cheaper but have the same build quality (I have both brands). Also dishwasher safe.
>>
>>22271398
>but have the same build quality
No need to cope.
>>
>>22266973
does anyone make a water bottle that's either all silver or silver on the inside where it touches the water?
>>
>>22272427
They do though
>>
>>22272567
stainless steel is silver though
