1st time making a pumpkin pie, what do you think
pls send me a slice
>>22269329wouldGood job with the leaves but use an egg wash next time
Would devour within the day
>>22269329The leaves are a nice addition
>>22269329SLOP OSHIT
>>22269329how the fudge did you do that
>>22269329dang I would love a slice of that. the texture looks perfect
>>22269329please make your own whipped cream for it. do not desecrate it with hydrogenated soy oil from a can.
>>22270268what are your thoughts on Cool Hwip?
>>22270271fuck you
>>22269329My mouth is watering thinking about all the nutmeg and allspice and whatnot.
>>22269333There you go
>>22270268too late sadly I used the goycan cause I had no ingredients to make homemade cream
>>22270421Bottom crust is too thick and gummy. Did you blind bake it?Crust looks dry and unappetizing because you didn't give it a wash. I'd probably go with milk and not egg in this case. A wash on the crust helps prevent it from cooking too much, too. Sprinkle sugar on the crust after you brush on a wash.Your filling looks dry and too strong. I don't know your recipe, but hold back an egg white and add a little more cream. You probably cooked it too hot and fast and then let it cool too quickly, causing cracks. I do 400F for 10 minand then 300F until 175F in the middle (about 55 min). Then let it cool for a while in oven with the door cracked. For your first time that's not bad.
>>22270500If you had a brain you'd realize he used a glass pan instead of metal, therefore he didn't really bake too hot, just didn't account for the different material. Being his first attempt, that's actually totally forgivable. And no one cares what you do, since you don't have any pics of yours.
>>22270511>If you had a brain you'd realize he used a glass pan instead of metal, therefore he didn't really bake too hotWe don't know how long OP cooked it for and at what temperature. A glass pan has more thermal mass and will insert more heat into the pie after baking. OP put a glass pan on a sheet pan so the bottom crust had no chance to get hot enough. (Unless he warmed up the sheet pan first and then removed it to allow infrared heat to help heat the crust in an electric oven.)>And no one cares what you do, since you don't have any pics of yours.OP posted his pie for help. You're just a pathetic pussy who can't handle criticism, even when it isn't about you. This is why you fail to improve. That, and you're clearly stupid.Attached is a pic of a pumpkin pie I've baked with a flakey crust. Suck my balls, cooklet.
>>22270571I think you posted a picture of a biopsy sample by mistake.
>>22270576Don't post, kid. You don't know what you're talking about.
>be pumpkin>get turned into pieits impiessible!
>>22270591The second you hear a critique of your overly flaky pie crust you try to shut down the conversation. Fuck you, this is why this board is shit.
>>22270268I whipped cream once. It was brutal and tasted awful.
>>22270571>puff pastry, expertly puchased and thawed >puffing up one's self in other's threadngmi lmao
>>22270424it's literally just heavy cream and sugar.... go back to the store right now before you eat another piece.
>>22269329I would like to cream ur pie
>>22270980You have to add a little vanilla and sugar. It's only brutal if you don't have a mixer
>>22270571The problem isn't the type of pan. The problem is the bottom crust is not done enough, while the crust is overcooked. Clearly OP just needs to wrap the crust with foil next time. Pic related.
>>22269329divine OP, divine
>>22269329You did good KingI would let my dig eat that
>>22270959>your overly flaky pie crust"my steak is too juicy and my lobster is too buttery">you try to shut down the conversationNo I'm not. You simply lost an argument. Go away.>>22270986>puff pastry, expertly puchased and thawedThank you for the compliment. It's 100% homemade regular pie crust based on Stella Park's recipe. I doubt that the edge of the pie crust would stay together like that if it were puff pastry.>>puffing up one's self in other's threadThat asshole asked for a pic.>>22271153Yeah but my point was that if you put a metal sheet under a glass pie plate it's a worst-case scenario for getting heat to the bottom. You want heat at the bottom ASAP so the butter steams instead of melts to achieve flakiness.
>>22271197Holy shit look at all those words, puff pastry boy
>>22271200Some of us use real keyboards, phoneposter. Here's what puff pastry actually looks like. My crust doesn't look like that. After I make the dough in the bowl, I take 1/3 of the dough and form it into a disk. Then I sprinkle the top of it with flour. I repeat this 2 more times and then I flatten it a bit to form a puck. There, that's how good layers for a pie crust.
>>22270571lel that flakey crust looks like shit
>>22271197>Thank you for the compliment.>complimentStore bought frozen puff pastry is notoriously rubbish.
>>22270421noticing the glass dish (to ignore the long critique posted), this is an B+ first try. Most people go for the foamy pumpkin pie and it makes me gag, this looks excellent
>>22269329Very nice for a first attempt. Keep it up Anon.
>>22269329>what do you thinkI think that women should not be allowed to vote. The pie looks fine.
>>22272877Cope.>>22272914It's homemade pie dough, faggot.
>>22272992>cooklet is indeed copingnot bad for a first try though
>>22272995Here's what Erin Jeanne McDowell's crust looks like.Get fucked.
>>22269329Looks a bit dry but I'll need to see a slice to be sure.
>>22273033i see why yours look like shit now
>>22273069This retarded nigger doesn't know what a pie crust is supposed to look like.
>>22273337Incredibly faggy crust
>>22273339There's no filling weighing it down.
