costco just opened in Albany, NY. It's a bit out of the way for me but everyone keeps talking about it. Is it worth getting a membership for bulk items, then just getting regular shit at the white people grocery Hannaford?

Hot dog, 1.50

>white people grocery

You fucking incel weeb faggot. Pervert. Bigot.

There’s definitely things that are better priced elsewhere but I find the membership worth it. They’re running a promo online right now where new members get a $45 gift card after signing up with auto-renew

If you want to browse the warehouse inventory you can see most of it using this (NOTE - you have to divide all non-electronic item prices on that site by 1.135 to get the warehouse price, electronics get a flat $13 add on):
https://sameday.costco.com/?zipcode=12203

It may switch back to your IP zip code so if it does use that web address again to force it to the Albany warehouse zip code.

Yes. It's very good. Top tier also cheapest fuel, costco travel saves me thousands of dollars a year, the freshest milk that has a super far off expiration. All the ribs have the silverskin removed. High quality Kirkland brand. Great monthly sales, great packaged food, sushi (sometimes), poke (always), produce is ultra fresh and great. I can almost go only there and leave the grocery behind. Credit card is excellent for cash back and no foreign transaction fee. Worth it.

you'll find a lot of opportunities to save money on your grocery store purchases too, if youre willing to store a slightly larger container. the most recent i experienced is cinnamon sticks
>kroger, 1 oz of sticks $4.99
>costco, 13.4 oz of sticks $9.99

It really depends on exactly what you usually buy.

For the last several years, they have had a sale on peanut butter every December/January where it is half the price of any of my local grocery stores. I can literally pay off the cost of my membership by stocking up during that one sale.

The chicken strips I like are 20% cheaper at Costco than anywhere else.

Other than those, the main benefit for me are the high quality brands like Coastal cheddar. It's an expensive cheddar but it is damn well worth it to me.

Yeah, they have a seasonally available Archer Mango Habanero beef jerky which is regularly $18/lb (compared to grocery stores selling 3oz for $10 or roughly $50/lb). However, this year they had it on sale twice -- once at $12/lb and once at only $10/lb for clearance. I bought enough to last me a couple of years.

>poke (always),
You fucking bastard, my warehouse refuses to sell that stuff because they say we don't buy enough of it. I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you. . . .

one of the small and few silver linings of living in socal is that because of the sheer size and diversity of the population, our warehouses stock every fucking thing hahaha

I'm in rural MD tho.

>>22269682
There is no rural md. It's all Washington dc.

It's more worth it if you are buying for a very large family or you organize church/community food things regularly. There are decent things at costco but if you care about high quality then most of the time you can get regular stuff at your preferred smaller scale place, you've got the right of it.

Every state has rural areas, they're just more expansive in some states than others.

Absolutely wrong. Just because you're making meth out in Hagerstown doesn't mean you're not getting stabbed by someone from bladensburg.

I live rural and have many acres anon. Don't tell me I live in DC. Rude.

>>22269462
Really? I've always been a Chopper Shopper, but I may have to look into this. Not that I go into Smallbany often, I prefer my tender body bullet hole-free.
>>
>>22269743
It's near the mall. You don't have to go near the river unless you need to buy drugs or get stabbed

>Albany, NY
you're driving from fort johnson to albany?
>>
>>22269466
Can you still get that deal without a membership? Last time I had one they let me in when I said I was just getting a hotdog

i got my card this year and been shopping there a lot. they have prepared foods so i tried this. it was ok but the cheese needs to be swapped for something else. the salsa also gave me hot poops. i may post about other things i try from there
>>
>>22269806
Costco's meat and seafood section is about as good as it gets unless you're a cooklet
>>
the real issue is going there and having to navigate through the hellscape of people, a veritable Heart of Darkness where everyone is half-dazed and collectively in everyone's way
if you don't value your time, you might find it worth it
if you do, just do Sam's Club and scan as you go
>>
>>22269841
Just shop with a purpose of what you want to get. Too many people love "shopping" and just browsing. Know what you want and you'll be out in no time.
>>
>>22269778
Not anymore. They scan your membership before they let you order
>>
>>22269910
Fuggin gay. At a Costco near where I used to live near they even moved the food court outside to probably project that you didn't need a membership to get the food court items.
>>
>>22269832
yes those sections are superb. so far prepared foods have been a letdown though
>>22269913
they tightened up the food court. you tap your card at a touchpad, order, then get in line and hand your receipt to the window like a deli. weirdly when i got my card the girl went out of her way to imply that i can add a second person even if theyre not at the same address
>>
>>22270440
Well in canada its the same shit you can just walk in and get something if you are brazen enough
>>
No one talks about the great credit card and other side services like travel, auto buying/negotiating for you etc.
>>
>>22269462

>>
>>22269462
I wouldn't drive more than 30 minutes but yes the bulk buy deals are legit, assuming you have room to store it and will actually use it then it's solid savings. I only go during a weekday tho, the nonwhite hordes become unbearable peak hours

Tenshi eating a c̶o̶r̶n̶ .... hot... dog?
