>>22271036i like the sharp ones
Can I get away with using a pull sharpener from IKEA? I’ve never sharpened and, while I respect stone sharpeners, I don’t think I can get into it
>>22271328If you're too lazy to sharpen them properly just use a honer. It will keep the thing sharp for a pretty long time.

I like knives with no point because they are much safer
>>22271565This is why I only date mute girls now. They don't call me trash and spit on me.
>>22271623See, now I know you’re lying because mute girls spit way better than most.
I buy cheap knives and when the blade becomes dull I throw them in the trash and buy new ones, I'm not a retarded sperglord buying hundred of dollars worth of meme japanese steel folded 10.000 times knives just to post the pictures online.
Sometimes I bring my knives to the butcher and he sharpens them for me, like...for free.
I used to be a knife autist but when I realized that I can get the same if not better result by throwing everything into a blender and getting nice results in 10 seconds, well, I just didn't make sense anyomore.
>>22271036Why do you need that many identical knives?
>>22271036knife advice is lost on this god-forsaken board
>>22271694>knife advice is lost on this god-forsaken boardNo.To some extent >>22271638 is correct, it's pointless (excuse the pun) to waste money on stupidly expensive knives that you have to waste hours of time honing through different grades of stones. You just need something to drag through a sharpening tool and go about your business. The stupid patterns and over 9000 folds are just an expensive meme, people need to get to grips with this.
>>22271694Kek so this board shuns Good Cookware just like /o/ eschews Good carsSo strangeWhy is that?
>>22271733False dichotomyYou can have a Good knife that isn’t a gimmick but also isn’t disposable junk
>>22271733thanks for proving the point
>>22271036*ahem*
>>22271762Victorinox pairing knives are so fucking cheap and very useful. You even get to pick your favorite color :)
Aside from the two plain Jane Mercer knives I have, I also have 3 zwilling/Henckels knives that I adore. Great brand, really nice edge retention and hardness. They also run a black Friday sale every year where you can get their nice stuff at a steep discount. I highly recommend them
>>22271036I was putting away the dishes and accidentally dropped a knife, almost got my foot.
>>22271833It's scheming for its next chance to get you now you know
>>22271036I got a Victorinox chefs knife for like 10 bucks and its a pretty good knife
>>22271796which henkels line is your knives from? i have one of their forged synergy santokus and i really like it.
>>22271733Get to grips?
>>22272050I like their cleaver. It's cheap and I feel like I can beat the shit out of it
I got my first French knife, a k-sabatier and the thing is just completely fucked upI have spent 20 minutes trying to grind out the twist on the edge towards the heel and it's making me miserableAlso the knife arrived dull as shit and could only tear paper I want to get a few more French knives but Japanese knives are really just the best
>>22271762I've got one and the blade feels too flexible. Is there a good, cheap paring knife with a stiffer blade?
>>22271328yes it will work fine.>>22271447This is tard advice for stupid people.>>22271638All of this guys knives are dull.
>>22271739if you have good things there's little to discuss. >>22272293should have gotten into German knives instead, rookie mistake.
My brother fucked up my Shin because he thought he knew how to use a whetstone from YouTube and just randomly destroyed the finish in front of me trying to look like those Japanese fuckers who make it look easy. I'm still mad.
>>22272414Did he get you a replacement?
>>22272120I have two of the zwilling 6 inch chef pros with white handles. They're discontinued now. I also have a 10 inch henckles with a plastic handle that I use for heavy duty stuff
>>22272690Chef pro slim, I should say. They are very thin
