I just moved from upstate NY to the southwest, where the hell can I find a hot dog like Hofmann's? There's no other hot dog like it.

Find a local butcher shop that makes their own sausages and dogs.
>>
You can't even find it in Pennsylvania easily.
Hofmann is that good shit. I bought a pack the other day because I hadn't seen them in a while and a local store started carrying it.
If there's a Polish or other Central-or-Eastern European butcher anywhere in your area, they will have sausages that are quite similar to Hofmann's. That's what I normally buy here in the DE/PA/NJ area because Hofmann's is so uncommon.

Yeah it's odd they only have them in the Syracuse and near surrounding areas. They're so good, especially the snappys. I tried one polish place and it was almost there, I'll have to check another, I need that based and redpilled snap.

I live in the midwest, so we have a lot of German/Polish sausage makers here. The whole key is that natural casing. I can't stand brats or any kind of sausages that don't have that snap...also they are better on the grill because they don't burst open so easily

I've seen these for sale at the Walmart Supercenter #3215 5605 University Town Centre Drive, Morgantown, WV. Morgantown to Syracuse is about a 6 hour drive. I suppose it is within the sales distribution range.

I've never bought them though. What makes them so special?
>>
>>22271835
Pretty much the taste, quality and snap. Other natural casing hot dogs get all withered up, these pups stay plump and juicy even when you give them a nice char, and have a noticeable snap to them. Grab them sometime, you won't regret it. Try the Snappy grillers too, they have a specific seasoning blend I can't really explain, but they're great.
>>
>>22271765
The only thing I wonder is, they are precooked. Do you warm them up in a pan? It seems like if I grilled them on my Weber, they would dry out.
>>
>>22271873
All hot dogs are precooked
>>
>>22271873
They're the only one's I've cooked on the grill that don't dry out
>>

Why has the image been modified ?

>All hot dogs are precooked
yes, correct
All hot dogs are precooked. they are not like raw bacon or most sausages. hot dogs you just heat them up on a grill, or fry them in a skillet, or even boil them. HOT DOGS ARE NOT RAW MEAT

Because

>>22271784
are they better than smith's? my dad is from erie and got me buying those when they finally became available in virginia.
>>
>>22272744
Dunno. I've not had Smith's. The only comparable ones I've had are a brand from Central Jersey I can't remember the name of but unlike Hofmann's they explicitly describe themselves as Polish.
>>22271802
Not /only/ Syracuse. I found mine at friggin Aldi. They also had the >>22271805 ones. White hots are such an UNY that I wouldn't be surprised if people here think that they're bratwurst.
>>22271835
I'd be on that shit like you wouldn't believe. Nearly 3lbs? Yeah, I would destroy them.
>>
>>22271765
For me, it's ambassador. The best natural casing hot dog
>>
>>22271765
Why do they look nothing like frankfurter/wiener at all?
>>
>>22272824
The colour, right? They're simply not smoked as hard, is all.
>>
>>22272827
Yes, as that's mandatory for that style.
>>
>>22272829
They're not frankfurters. Their American franks. Much less fastidious definition but I get the confusion or bemusement on your end. Don't think of them as proper würstchen. Think of them as their own thing because they pretty much are.
>>
>>22272830
I know exactly what those uncultured swines are doing. They just can't come up with own names for their trash and that's annoying.
Also i don't get the process of that rubbish. Someone thought it would be a good idea to not smoke sausages that are defined by smoking. Chicken burger.
>>
>>22271765
They sell these at Publix, theyre just ok, Nathan's tastes better desu
>>
>>22271765
Is it true you guys eat steamed hams?

No.

You really ought to work on your reading comprehension.
>>22272968
>Nathan's tastes better
Your opinions on food can't be trusted if you're going to speak such utter nonsense like that.
Kosher hotdogs are fucking terrible and you're terrible for liking them.
>>
>>22271765
Their ring bologna is good too. Not sure if walmart still carries it.
>>
>>22271765
Is Hoffmann a "white hot" hot dog?

>>
>>22273160
See >>22271805
As >>22272793 said, those are white hots.
>>
>>22271784
Hippy's is about as good as you're gonna get in a regular PA supermarket. Roll-sized, dense, with a good casing.
>>
>>22273728
trash for trash
