While the Yugioh universe feels more like a bet/wager, if you lose in the Pokemon universe, the trainer that beat you can do whatever he wants to you, because his Pokemon are conscious and yours aren't. If he told you to strip, you'd have to do it, or his Houndoom could Flamethrower you. Or his Hypno could hypnotize you...
