Also, the manga was always shit, and everyone always looked ugly in it because Ikemoto, despite being a 15-year vet assistant for Naruto's run, cannot draw Kishimoto's artstyle to save his fucking life. Over time, this has kind of evened out as more original characters have shown up, but they always clash hard with anything originally designed by Kishimoto. Boruto and friends were especially fucked, though, because Ikemoto cannot draw aesthetically pleasing children. All children are goblins, like how all women that Boichi (see Dr. Stone) draws are aliens. There's a damn good reason that all fanart defaults to the anime's designs for Boruto and co. Hell, even timeskip designs often see fans extrapolate the anime artsyle because no one wants to emulate Ikemoto's artsyle.
