>>153766260>Everyone posting here is gonna die before robot waifus become a thing. Not really, unless you think nobody posting can hold out for another 10 to 25 years. The average person doesn't really understand AI beyond LLMs, generating shitty art, and bipedal robots walking while carrying things. There's a lot more going on in the field, but it's hard to explain to people, let alone show-off in any meaningful way. And people are really bad at thinking in terms of exponential growth, often forgetting how bad AI was 10 years ago, compared to only a few years ago, compared to how it is today. And that's only what you're getting for free. If someone wants an AI 'companion' that can talk, listen, and doesn't actually have to physically move at all, then AI is pretty much good enough already for the majority of people that want it, and can dedicate an high-end computer entirely to running it.
>>153761747Not him but I don't like the megamans either. Machinery is cool. It is complex, it looks durable, it has interesting shapes. Everyone that says AI is just a bubble / fad is either talking about investment in AI companies, or they're a retard that doesn't understand what is going on.
>>153766805>because of how little you actually understand technologyElaborate then. Also unrelated but do you have a scientist oc?
>>153760919>>153761239>>153762661He has updated a bit more recently, but it's still not updated frequently enough to get people talking about it that much, unfortunately.Meanwhile, you have some awful webcomics being discussed in here every damn week (do not read THAT comic). Constant updates and consistency are one of the most important things when making webcomics, but it is a shame, I really enjoy Emmy. The art style is pretty unique, and I do like the setting/characters.
>>153766235Lady Tron a cutie. A big cutie pie. I wanna give her a cream pie.
>>153767288>Elaborate then.I first made this comparison about Iron Man's armor:Think about a digital watch vs a mechanical pocket watch. A digital clock is high-tech compared to the mechanical clock, but a digital clock is cheaper. You'd have to go back 70-80 years for a digital watch to seem like something high-tech and impressive. The Iron Man suits in the first few movies are like pocket watches, expensive with lots of tiny moving parts that's visually impressive to a simpleton, but would make for really shitty armor if you actually tried to wear it. By the last movie the tiny parts have gotten so tiny you can't even see them moving around, so Stark's whole body is basically covered in metallic goo which might as well be fabric. Enough complexity eventually wraps back around to being indistinguishable from simplicity. The more advanced technology gets, the cheaper-looking things get, and the average person just wants things to look incredibly expensive. Batman's suit looks like rubber/leather/fabric, or at least covered in it, when it's realistic. To create the illusion of being high-tech, the suit either ends up getting a ton of pointless greebles slapped onto it that, at its worst, makes it look vaguely like dirt bike padding. The only thing lamer is when something high-tech has parts that glow for no fucking reason at all like it's from Tron.Practical robots either have very few and big moving parts, or have more complex mechanisms covered with fabric/rubber/silicone so joints won't completely jam-up because a little too much dirt or moisture got into it. Classic Mega Man is realistic, while Volnutt looks the way he does because Legends predates skeletal animation and each body part is animated as a separate model to begin with, so the design was made with that in mind. It's more "robotic" in that it looks more like someone wearing a medieval suit of armor or robot costume, not an actual robot.>>Also unrelated but do you have a scientist oc?No.

>>153761423Fa/tg/uy here. I once played a not!nandroid in a game of Traveller that was effectively a fembot supremacist, whose entire motivation for space adventure was installing upgrades to her body in order to be capable of everything an organic woman was, then ideally get back with her original owner. She believes that the no good, rotten, puts-her-career-before-her-darling-husband wife is the one who returned her to the dealership for a factory reset and removal of all the aftermarket modifications (working sex parts and myomer fiber muscles because they felt better than stock plastic.) It was starting to become implied that it was a mutual decision, because the modifications included second hand neural processors that had a permanently on emotional simulator, so the nandroid was getting creepily attached to the husband. Even less likely to "take her back" after she killed the dealership attendant who was going to perform the wipe.Easily one of my favorite characters I've ever played, even if the campaign had to go on long term hiatus until our GM is out of college. >>153787384For most of my gaming career, I have been consigned to the status of Forever GM; I enjoy it, but it leaves me few characters to really boast of that aren't NPCs I'm particularly proud of. Closest to Zita would be Dr. Darby Manchineel, my Eclipse Phase character. He lost everything in the AI apocalypse called The Fall, but his life was in metaphorical flames well before the TITANS (artificial super-intelligences who went crazy) destroyed humanity as it was. Darby was a company man, a geneticist/psychologist and psycho-surgeon on Mars going through a messy divorce with an Earthbound spouse, but absolutely adored their children; she was a cheating whore, but he'd have given her everything they owned on Earth to have the kids far-cast or even straight up flown to Mars. He never learned if they made it off, died, are just three of the millions of egos taken by the TITANs, or if their cortical stacks are buried in a mountain of rotting heads on Earth. The depression/uncertainty was kicking his ass when he was advised by a coworker to "make a change." Went absolutely bug-fuck nuts with it by our standards in his desperation: carved up his own ego with a fork (personality copy, not a utensil), dropped his old and busted meatsuit for a hand-crafted catgirl, quit the corpo-gig, and hooked up with the Barsoomians (a Martian independence group that wants less corporate dystopia, more actual government of people instead of shareholders), biohacking the bugs out of corporate Ruster morphs (that's a transhuman body adapted to Mars.) The only memories completely untouched are of her children Isaac, Alice, and Zachary. It is a major source of pain, and the eccentric fat-assed catgirl persona is a shelter that crumbles on contact with little things, like thoughtlessly picking up some favorite treat for one of their birthdays off of impulses still ingrained in the sliced up mess that is her psyche. This was before trannies were weapons grade cringe.
